Dig it! I miss those days. Now that's a party !!!
Buddy was way ahead of his time . He. Left us great ideas to learn from . Great video ty
This is taken from Hugh Hefner's TV show. I believe at this time it was called Playboy After Dark. Every week Hef would host a "party" at the Chicago location. There were musical guests as well as comedians and a cast of "groovy beautiful people" making up the party atmosphere.
Hefner, being a BR fan, most likely had the Rogers set stored away just for these occasions.
@@erzug or more likely they called over to Frank's Drum Shop on Wabash and rented the set for the show taping.
Buddy Rich is the greatest drummer of all time! Not even John Bonham or Neil Peart could only hope to beat him.
I disagree with you. If you want to compare Buddy Rich's jazz style with John Bonham or even Neil Pearth, for that matter, you're in the wrong category. In other words, it's like comparing tangerines and oranges. Jazz and Rock music both have two complete different drum techniques in terms of rythmic drum pattern solos.
Well, I absolutely adore both of those guys with John Bonham being one of my favorite drummers of all time but there are guys that will play circles around both of them that are not as good as buddy. But in all fairness people like Vinny, Steve Smith, Virgil Donati, and Roy Haynes grandson my God have surpassed buddy by now. Dealing with just hand technique Steve Smith being one of the few modern day Buddy riches and Vinny possibly having the greatest hands of all time or a few of the guys that have come close or matched his technique but as far as overall playability and what you can do with four-way coordination, there are guys that have surpassed him decades ago. Though, it’s still Buddy Rich.
@@williamperri3437 It's not a competition.
@@javlohudzlin4829 I agree 100%

Playing ROGERS, when he had a SLINGERLAND endorsement..
Bruh…they let Buddy do whatever he wanted.😂😂😂😂😂 They needed him more than he needed them. He’s forgotten more than any of us could possibly know.
Sound like Jimmi Hendrixs Fire
Bruh man doing too much with the dance moves. Calm it down homie, I’m getting exhausted just looking at you.
Love it!
