The small town of Cody, Nebraska, population 150, might have suffered the fate of many rural communities in America and faded away. But the people of Cody realized a simple trick: build a grocery store and people will come.

There’s a decent amount of recreational activities you can do in these rural regions, especially in the digital age.
A lot of people (within the big cities) throughout these recent decades have started to barely go out that much, and just stay home to play on their console or PC.

Just a suggestion: why not have some community project: cattle rearing, chicken maybe or fruit orchards. Well, you could be a mini suppliers of fruits , vege, etc to the nearest town or city. Anything that keep people busy, occupied and start living. I grew up watching cowboys and indian movies so why not re-live the old wild west. That is how the true American Dreams started, isn't it not?
