Thanks for the guide. Really helpful for newbies like me.
Very informative. Thank you!
Very, very helpful. Thank you very much.
Just getting into aquascaping. And I’ve realized…. I know nothing…. These tanks are immaculate. I got a Fluval 15gal. And there’s a science to all this. Haven’t quite gotten ahold of it yet but I’m trying to learn. Just wish there was more aquascapers in tennnessee. I’m in Nashville and can’t find any friends here or stores with aquariums like these 😮… I’d be In heaven
Awesome info shared especially useful for new beginner like me into aquascaping, mistakenly thought lily pipe is only for aesthetic purpose thanks for clarifying! Kudo to Tommy for content like this.
Glad you found this useful. Cheers.

Very informative. ❤️
Thank you, Tommy
Great explanation like usual Tommy👍
Cheers.
Really awesome video Tommy love it
How high off the substrate should the inflow and co2 diffuser be ?
Also my lily pipes are right next to eachother in a 60p.
Where should I position my surface skimmer.
Thanks Tommy!
Very helpful, thank you !
You are welcome, glad you found this useful.
Привет 🖐️ с разводни аквариумных рыбок из Ташкента 🖐️, дружеский лайк от моего канала 👍👍👍
Very usefull ! Thanks so much Tommy
You're welcome!
You guys are awesome thankz
Very helpful! Thank you
Cheers!
Finally I found a video that helps with my dilemma of how to position 1 vs 2 filters :) can I ask for your thoughts please. I have a 4ft long tank, heavily planted, but quite flat, just with big driftwood with anubias and java fern attached. I have 2x fluval 307 filters but Iam so sick of cleaning the glass lily pipes and transparent hoses from the massive algae build up, servicing 2 filters every month, etc. Is there a benefit to having two canisters in my 120cm planted tank? Or I can stick with one?
Keeps my 20 gal tank between 76° F& 77° F 24/7. I like it!
thanks for amazing tips always , legend
That tank looks so cool like
;) Cheers
Thank you!
Thank you very much love from India i always finding this type video about placement but you did it thanks man
You are welcome, glad you liked this.
Great Kudos
I took spraybar out because i didnt think i was getting circulation correct. Yes, i installed on back of tank. (20 gal long) But now you have explained where it should go i will cut it to fit and try again. Thanks!
Great tutorial.
Thanks, glad you found it useful. Cheers.
Bonjour merci pour ces explications 👍
You are welcome, Jacques!
Okay I never knew that ! Thank you for this
You are welcome!
Super cool,, i like it bro!
Great! Cheers!
Cool tutorial! I often thinking where should I position my lily pipes…😅 thank For sharing!
😉👍
Very helpful 😊
Cheers!
great work
🙏
Awesome video Tommy 👍. I've just recently upgraded my filter to a oase biomaster thermo 600 due to watching your channel. I've got my inlet and outlet spray bar on one side like you suggested. Where should I place my Co2 drop checker if I'm using a inline atomiser (diffuser)?
Thanks guys, keep up the good work
Same side with the filter in- and outlets. Where there are no rising bubbles that can be trapped in it.
Благодарю. Наглядно и полезно для многих.
You are welcome.
Good explanation
Glad you found it useful.
Saludos!!
Que buen video!!
Saludos! Thanks!
Thanks!
You are welcome.
THANKS
Thanks. this confirms what just seems to be logical to me. I have a hang on back filter on a 20 gallon tank. and it just seemed to make better sense to put the filter on the side. so the water circulates the whole tank lengthwise. plus that way it simulates the natural flow like a stream. my fish love it. I was looking for ideas of where to place my in-tank diffuser for the pressurized co2 system I'll be installing soon .. thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Are you going to put the co2 diffuser opposite to the HOB filter? I’m in the same situation as you and don’t know what to do to evenly distribute CO2
@@kkiiization I'm not absolutely certain. I don't have my CO2 system yet. But by watching debris in my aquarium. I can see the way the water circulates. And it does seem logical to put the CO2 diffuser, low on the opposite side. It seems that way the bubbles will circulate across the bottom of the tank as they rise.
Love your work !!! So I have the Oase 350 with the spray bar on the back of the tank and my diffuser is below that near my substrate. My question is should I have my spray bar on one side of the tank and the diffuser on the opposite side ?? Thanks for your help
Very useful video. Could you recommend the best way to place the lily pipes on an oase styling where it has cut outs for cables and piping in the back left and right corners? Currently I have them both together in the left with the lilly pipe facing width ways of the tank. (Directly forward) am I running it in a inefficient way by doing this? I am limited with placement due to the lids of the tank
I've been away from my tanks for awhile and it's amazing how hard it is to sleep without the noise of flowing water.
Water has a calming effect, right.
Thanks for the great content as usual! Can you explain why having the diffuser underneath the inflow isn't just as good? I imagine it would push the bubbles all over just as well, but I haven't seen it done. My tank (regrettably) is a fluval edge with very limited options for placement!
Probably because there would be a lot of agitation going through the filter and a good part of the CO2 would be lost instead of being in the tank before it goes through the filter and is used by the plants while the concentration of it is still high. Just a guess, maybe he’ll answer it.
Great video guys. Just found your channel a few weeks ago and have watch most of the videos now. Been keeping fish for 20 years but only just got into aquascaping. Hope you can answer a question for me.
I have one of my tanks in the corner of a room so no room on the left side, loads down the back and the right side. Tank is 4ft with 2 eheim pro 3 600 filters. Just ordered 2 sets of lilly pipes for it. Where would you put the inlet and outlet pipes with no access on the left side of the tank? I was thinking on the back corners pointing towards the front? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
Damn guys, you are reading thoughts!!! Yeasterday I was wondering where to put my CO2 diffuser!!! Thanks!!!
There you go. Cheers.
In the aquarium hobby.. As with anything else, the most important thing is.. Location, location, location
Yepp.
What do u mean?
🙄
Great video! If I’m running CO2 on a long tank with two filters and I have the outflows on opposite sides with one in back and one in front would I be able to inject the CO2 in just one outflow with an inline diffuser or would it be better to inject in both outflows?
Thanks for making such awesome content!
One side should be enough. Cheers.
Always with the product placement
Hello GreenAqua, thanks for this tutorial. We can see, at the start of your video the new Aquavitro Sentia Dose (modular doser pump).
Will you soon offer them for sale in your product catalog?
Don't we already have that? If not, it will be soon available.
Hey Tommy, can you tell me which is the best position for my surface skimmer.
Beautiful scapes. I guess with such amazing scapes your fish likely have no reason to leave their amazing tanks, but how do you stop fish jumping out the tanks without top covers? Or are the fish species used in rimless open top tanks less prone to jump out the water? Which fish species are less likely to jump? Thx.
fish species is important. nano fish aren't really known to jump out. Shrimp occasional will jump out due too water parameters being off
Thank you Tommy for this explanations...verry good...I have a question,if it's possible...Balazs made a custom tank for somebody with pagoda stone wall in the whole back...I want to know where were the lillypipe placed?...thank you.
In those cases, we put them on the front. Alternatively, you can go with a drilled aquarium and not use these pipes at all.
I have a 3ft tank with surface fans running 24/7 to cool down temperature and a good co2 system. With fans running does that mean my co2 will be dispersed tremendously.
Which inflow are you using on this tank? The built-in skimmer is really cool. Thanks for the awesome content!
There are many brands who make them, aqua rebell, ista, etc.
Hi Tommy & the crew ! Thanks again for a usefull tutorial about the backs.... and what is the doser used below the 60P ? Thanks ;)
It's a new doser, you'll find it on our website! Cheers.
Hello, thanks for the content. I have 180 cm long tank. You suggest two filtres for this size of tanks. Is it enough to mount one CO2 system ?
Super pomocny film
Glad you found this useful. Cheers.
Thanks for very useful info!
Just one question lets say if we start co2 and light for 7 hours in evening, do we need to turn off water filter in this time window? As water filter will remove co2 and add oxygen then its useless to start co2 system.. Rite.. Let me know whats ur openion. Or its ok to run co2, light and filtration system together?
it might be a little outside of y'all's purveiw but do you have thoughts about river tank manifold style flow patterns and filtration?
Very nice Video as always. What about positioning a Spin Pipe in a 60P?
Same idea.
Perhaps you could go a bit into detail about diffuser placement; in regards to the correlation there seem to be with BBA and its tendencies to thrive on hardscape in areas with high flow and co2 mist. I believe ADA raises their diffusers or sometime keeps them at the same side as the outflow for this reason.
Interesting. Where did you see that? BBA is probably the last resisting algae once you master the basics.
Yeah, ADA raises them a bit, but we did not see a correlation between the appearance of BBA and diffuser placement.
Hello Tommy, I have a problem with my co2 diffuser, the bubbles rise too quickly towards the surface, they spread badly in my aquarium, yet I have slowed down the bubble flow.
If I have a CO2 external reactor, should I put the spray bar pointing slightly upwards?
Would surface agitation release the well dissolved CO2 or having the output water hitting the surface would not be much of a deal for such dissolved CO2?
Good video, what do you think about putting the co2 diffuser below the inlet of th canister?, in that way the co2 remains for more time in the water
No, the filter bacteria will suffer if a lot of CO2 would get into the external filter and the pH there would drop. So don't do it.
Cute :)
Nice video.. just a doubt.. do we have to position the air diffuser like co2 diffuser like the bubbles shouldnt go up straight and have to spread out all over the tank? Is it possible for air bubbles go straight upward and can fully dissolve in water? I am using aquario neo co2 and air diffuser.. Pls reply..
Is aeration necessary for a planted tank thru an air stone or diffuser ?
Does it matter where the water level is to put the inlet because I’m trying to install a canister filter but I’m not sure if it will pump or not
What about placement or style of heater. I have a tank that will require a heater inside. What temp are you’re tanks? Thanks for all the great videos
I would avoid using heaters in the tank. I would get a filter that has a heater, or can be retrofitted with a heater like the Biomasters, or I would get an inline heater.
Hello Tomi, Its a nice video and its clear all the instructions but I don't have any expensive aquarium so if you would be so kind to make another one in the future where you have an aquarium top(because of cats) or let's say if you have a juwel lido where you can't really change the in and outlet position what can you do then?
Love your videos by the way!
I would make custom lily pipes that could work on the side of the back wall where the opening is for Juwel. The outlet would push the water sideways after it comes in through the back wall opening.
Thank you so much for your advice !
How do I place the lily pipes in a UNS 40c with a central hardscape? I am using a UNS stand with Fluval 207 canister filter. The stand is low in the back opening which i think would kink the tubing unless I use some sort of spiral to put around the house much like a garden hose anti-kink attachment.
