Cans Without Labels was basically a scam as John didn't fulfill most of the Kickstarter goals he met after the short got funded and even then the animation is extremely sloppy for an animator so hyperfixated on perfectionism. The jokes drag on for WAY too long too, which can be seen in even shorts like this, where you can see John developing a habit of dragging out visual gags ad nausem.

I think he's just too depressed make cartoons and just wanted to finish Cans Without Labels for the sake of it. if he made a proper apology he'd likely feel better but he sadly seems incapable of that. his recent sketches are much better than his finished artwork, possibly cuz he doesn't think much while drawing them & he just lets his instincts do the work. while "this needs to be a finished piece" means more pressure.
I know Boo Boo's walk might look weird when he's on all fours but bears actually walk like that. It's kind of goofy looking. Same thing with the tongue although that's more of a sloth bear thing and they aren't native to America.

I mean this is entire thing is still technically considered "cursed", did you see the tree scene, also the affair scene, and boo-boo almost eating Yogi's ass at the beginning. But I get what you mean it's definitely not the typical "cursed" shit.

It's one of those things that's hard to watch and hard to stop watching. And as someone said, it's probably on par with daytime Ren and Stimpy, which is one of the grossest shows I've ever seen (no offense to people who like it for that).

John Kricfaluski really knew how to make a cartoon like a cartoon. He focuses on every detail, sound and style; and even references how the Ranger underwent SEVERAL redesigns throughout the original Yogi Bear. I wish he still made cartoons cause he knew how to make then ridiculously funny and like how a cartoon should be. Most cartoons are just talk nowadays, but his work is unforgettable.

I saw this at a friends house in the middle of the night on cartoon network and thought i was dreaming it.. was so freaking weird and terrifying. My friend didnt believe me either when i told him about the messed show the next day.. i guess im kinda glad to know it was a real thing i saw as a kid.
My screen got cracked, so my phone’s display glitches all to hell whenever the battery gets low, let me tell ya, when the colors got darker and more distorted, boo boo growling and drooling everywhere was much more disturbing.
This reminds me of that Ren and Stimpy movie where Ren went crazy and killed his therapist (horse) with a revolver. I saw it when I was like 10 and it's been burned in my mind again after watching Boo Boo bite the dickens out of Yogi for calling Cindy a homewrecker. John Kricfaluski really knew how to make a cartoon like a cartoon. He focuses on every detail, sound and style; and even references how the Ranger underwent SEVERAL redesigns throughout the original Yogi Bear. I wish he still made cartoons cause he knew how to make then ridiculously funny and like how a cartoon should be. Most cartoons are just talk nowadays, but his work is unforgettable.
The saddest part is that John K is a fucking dick.

However, most people who worked with him were aware of his underaged girlfriend, and his lawyer put out a statement admitting to at least that much. John K largely admitted to most of the allegations against him in a long ass apology letter. Not being charged =/= no crime was committed, especially in the case of sexual misconduct. Most survivors of sexual abuse don't come forward due to the shame and trauma.

Saw this once as a kid. Creeped me out. 20 years later I decide to google "creepy Yogi bear" and this is the first thing I get to see. Damn, it's pretty insane how well I remember certain parts given I've only seen it once at a young age. Even at the age of 28, I find it more disturbing and gross than funny in any way. This reminds me of that Ren and Stimpy movie where Ren went crazy and killed his therapist (horse) with a revolver. I saw it when I was like 10 and it's been burned in my mind again after watching Boo Boo bite the dickens out of Yogi for calling Cindy a homewrecker. The way Ren's mouth was and with him biting off and swallowing the hand of one of the pounders whole was just gruesome
