- Everything went wrong on this Montana day! Roping in the wind is always a problem, but it was made worse due to my horse acting squirrelly as well!
In the end, my dad and I got the job done. Not every day goes as planned, but you gotta keep going anyway.

The good. The bad & the ugly. We're all here for it.
If you don't post it we can't experience it. A lot of us aren't cowgirls/cowboys so we need to see it all to have that authentic western experience that you bring.
We love you for it ❤️
Amen
Well said👏
This is actually one of my favorite videos, it's interesting to see the kind of struggle in ranching that we don't get to see often.
Thank you for sharing 👍🏻
Hey cowboy, gotta give you an E for effort anyway. I was trying to remember in 20 some years of ranching, if I ever had a day when anything went right. I wonder if you had weather moving in bc my horses & cows always acted goofy & uncooperative when a storm was coming. Found them more accurate than the weather man. Only thing you can do is fire your best shot & if you miss, get up the next day & fire again. Long live the cowboys !
Excellent comment 👍
Hello, I have been on my family farm my whole life. I am now seventy and have four sons, three married. Just had my left knee replaced and use your information to see how we stack. Thank you
Brings back so many memories! Typically, there is always something that goes wrong. That is what keeps it interesting.
I've had horses for 60 years. I love your videos and how you explain how horses think and how things can go wrong - sometimes VERY wrong.
God bless you and all ranchers and farmers who work with large and dangerous animals... dangerous sometimes when they don't even intend to be. 👍❤️
Thank you so much.
It was a great video Trinity depicting the reality of ranch/cowboy life. Love your honesty in everything you present to us minions. Keep ‘em coming cowboy!
Thank you.
You must be related!
@@susanbschu9210 if I was I’d be there working with him. 🤠👍
I'm a horse and cow lover. Thank you for all of your tips and tricks!
This was interesting in spite of the wind. Thanks for sharing. God bless you and yours too.
Kudos to you for not editing this video to look perfect, or make yourself look more polished as a cowboy. You gave us a real "day in the life" of Trinity Vandenacre. It takes courage and humility to be authentic and put it on youtube. As with any job, some days go better than others. Most aren't perfect. At the end of the day, what matters is how you persevere and work through the challenges.
Ur daily trial and tribulations make ur videos very watchable THANK U FOR SHOWING UR DAILY LIFE- even the rotten sound is part of ur life- u need not apologize for anything
Thank you for video and thank you for your work
Hey from SA 🇿🇦 ...5:00 yes time is always a problem us farmers.
What I normally do is when I easily catch my horse I give him a treat and as I give it to him, I say his name a few times. And after done working another treat.... Great video 👍
Hey Trinity.. You got the job done.!!! And . we all have days like that.. in fact today we had to go all the way back again to a summer pasture to pick up a calf that escaped the gather a week ago. We have corrals at every pasture but the little beggar took my daughter " out" as she was closing the gate on him when we went back to get him yesterday . So Day 3, we rounded up the mama and took her all the way back .. Mama's love did the trick .. she called her 600 lb Baby Boy into the corrals .. and fed him as we slammed the gate shut.. They loaded back up in the trailer and are at the home ranch on winter feed . There's always more than one way to get the job done .. It's November 7 th in Alberta Canada .. minus 35 Celcius with a 2o MPH North West wind and already over a foot of snow . Every horse on the ranch was tucked into a shed or behind a windfence .. NOBODY wanted to work today.. but the job just has to get done.. We love your videos .. nice to know there's others out there helping to feed this old world .. Keep them coming..
I just want to say, thank you SO much for making these video's! I am adopted but my biological mom grew up on a 75,000-acre ranch in eastern Montana and one in western South Dakota. My biological dad currently runs a ranch in eastern Montana. He went on to get married and have three boys after I was born. I've never met him or my brothers and I've always wondered what their days are like. Thanks to your video's now I know!
I am so glad. By the way, the WhatsApp number that replied to you is NOT me. Just be aware. If you replied to them please block them right away.
Always enjoy your video’s. I appreciate what you do! I noticed when you were rounding Calibar up he was walking stiff. Glad you were able to accomplish your task! Stay safe out there and God Bless ❤️🙏🏻✝️🇺🇸
That was a different black horse. He is old and a little stiff
What a video Trinity 👏👏! That's why I like this channel, you show the whole ranch perspective. Not everything on a ranch goes peachy and by the book everytime. Some artists think oh this is a horrible painting, turns out to be some of their finest work. Trinity, thank you so much for this video. God bless and can't wait till the next video🇺🇸🤠🐎
It isn't even Monday 😋 Enjoyed video anyway. Love the horses.
Looked realistic! Did I see a cat running through the corral of running horses? It's amazing it isn't worried about getting stomped!
Yep. The 3 barn cats think they are helping me but they better watch out in there. 😄
I’ve heard of cattle dogs but Trinity has cattle kitties!
Well I don’t see how you do so much with animals as you do holding that camera. I was raised on the farm. We didn’t have cameras to show any body what we did on the farm. I love watching what you do, I think of being back on the farm. Best life ever. I now drive a Peterbilt and come out to Montana as much as I can. You’re a very lucky person. Keep up the program. You’re wonderful!❤
You may have inadvertently made one of your most popular videos just because so many of us have days like that. 😂
Also, I’ve gotta say, I love the explanations of how you are working with your horse. On this one it was the rope technique to get him to face you.
Thank you. I have talked to myself for years so it comes naturally. 😄
Hey I really appreciate this video. Anyone who has had horses for any length of time knows that these days will happen (sometimes often). Wind is not your friend (having lived in Cheyenne I know all about wind)… It is important that newbies see the bad as well as the good otherwise they have unrealistic expectations. I know I did…
Funny how in the movies, you just have to whistle and your horse comes to you. lol
Thanks for sharing the good and bad!
Have an awesome Sunday.
Life isn't always perfect, it's reality.
Still a lot of fun to watch. Especially Calibar getting lassoed 😆
"Things" will always go wrong. If you never show that, you don't show reality. So I say: more power to you.
Thank you. I appreciate your insight. 👍
Love that the kitty was in the Corral with the horses, just like a dog would be.
I've been wondering what horses feel about all this and this video sort of began to clarifiy it a bit. "Nope, not into doing this today." Also could you post the temperature. That was looking cold, but how cold ?
Finally someone shows on CZcams something when it goes pear shaped! Hope the CZcams algorithm likes it and gives you a commission from the advertising revenue
Yeah. I thought about just scrapping this one, but I figured, “why not?” 😄
"...tell me why I don't like mondays...🎶🎵🎶....", 🤣, so what? Immagine everything always went smoothly....BORING...🙄 (😄).
No big deal, life on the ranch as it is... 👍 thanks for sharing!! Have a nice sunday! 🙏👍🇧🇪 (Belgium 10.50 AM)
😂 Truth!
I’m glad you posted even though you felt like you shouldn’t. Keep it up. Keep showing the hard stuff. It needs to be shown to the people who think it’s so easy.
Also don’t apologize for the wind. We like to hear your beautiful voice. Clearly. And if you need to do it with a voice over that works great. This was raw and you in the elements. We all have those bad days. And what?? The balls just fall off?! Damn lmao.
Thank you for sharing with us your “bad” day! All that matters is mission accomplished as safely as can be expected. My “cheat treat” is the Brachs round red & white peppermint candy wrapped in cellophane. The horses hear the crinkle sound as your unwrapping it-stops them every time. WARNING- put candy center of flat palm. If horse is aggressive , close hand & pullback- ‘NO’ with authority), then SOFTLY say ‘be nice’ It will take a couple-3 times. I’ve heard Many Times, “Don’t feed a horse out of your hand”. That ORDER has always been from a ‘gruffy’ person. Have a BLESSED DAY.
I truly believe you know how to hand feed. The instructions are for the people who like to use their fingers! Amazes me. Galloping across your pastures-do you not have gopher holes? Or should I ask what do you fill them with🥴?
Can’t believe you braved that wind on Saturday. Another amazing production Not only are you a excellent ranch guy but a terrific techie!! Stay safe and keep up the excellent work. Love it. Spend way too much time watching when I should be making chicken noodle soup! ❤
😄😄. Thank you.
I love u farmers for posting and sharing these videos with the public n yes your busy limited time that's true I pray u have easier days with out lost time
Its a hard work rancher, congrats, great video, regards from far away, Chile, South America
No worries Trinity!!!! All ya needed to top it off was a good Montana blizzard to move in on ya while ya had your rope on your forearm.
Then with the snow blowing sideways and ya got Kalibar wanting to turn his tail to the wind and you’re trying to stretch the banding pliers with frozen hands!!!!
Shoot, we might get to learn a few new words with a day like that!!!😂
Keep up the great work Sir!!! We all know you are the Cowboy we all came to see!!!! Have all the fun ya want….. I will make some more!!!!!
Man I love your channel. I got mad respect for you guys and what you do. Makes me want to be a cowboy 🤠 even though the struggles are real. Much respect brother 👊🏻💪🏻✌🏻
Thank you. That was not me that replied to you with a WhatsApp number. Hope you did not reply to that.
Sometimes that happens. Thanks for sharing.
It sure does. Just one of those things. 😄
Yup, sometimes, Chaos is the Order of the Day!
Had a few of those days myself!
Great video Trinity, thanks for sharing, the good times and the hard times!
Keep cowboying Trinity!
✌💕🤠🐎🐂👍
It’s possible the high winds affect the horses ears which causes the erratic behavior… I no nothing about horses, however I did stay at a holiday inn last night! Anyway, call it a win because you helped your father, that’s what good cowboys do!
Thank you for the encouragement. I am not sure what the wind does to them. I always wondered if it creates static or something. Really not sure.
What a smart boy. 😄
Kids act the same way in the wind! It's funny that horse knows your after him.
Yes. He is a smart one.
I’m glad to have found quality farm and ranch content on CZcams. After a summer on a ranch 5 years ago I’m aching to get back to absurdity of ranching.
Hey. A good day is when you accomplish your goal and you did. I'm a small farmer in Ohio. Love your videos Trinity
Treats = reward not bribe. I love how you treat your horses and cattle. Keep up the good work. I enjoy your videos very much.
This was brilliant thanks. It’s great to see how different parts of the world work. You make everything seem second nature to you Thanks 👍🏴
Ahh yes. You seem the first person that knows there’s a feature where you can link your shorts to your full length videos and I’m very happy for it! Lol
thanks for sharing some real Montana --we are always battling the wind--and still love it!!!!!
Yes. Love it despite the wind.
Ditto to all the comments about this video. So many of other ranchers are polished, tweaked and almost too perfect…Yours? Real ranch life! I love it.
That's the kind of day at work when we would all go out for a drink. Murphys' law
Even if things go sideways on occasion.... just look at that view! Such beautiful country ❤️
It sure is!!
Thanks for posting, even though it was rough. Proves your the real deal.
First comment I read here I totally agree with. I’m no rancher, one thing I DO know is if you pay attention to animal behavior and act accordingly you will save yourself a fair amount of grief in the long run. I did chose not to watch the video but I offer this in light of kindness: EVERYONE has bad days Sir-move on and save yourself the grief of going over it. And keep your chin up, humor can be the best thing after a bad day!
Well always entertaining for sure 👍👍👍
Greetings from California
Wind blowing affects us all.. thanks for sharing.
Take care 🤗
I appreciate you showing the good and the bad, still an good video.
Thank you. 😁
Well, that's the way it actually is. Everything does not always go right. In fact, something usually goes wrong, even if it's something small. You said you were showing people what it's really like. So, you have to show the fails along with the victories. This was so bad. 👍
Thanks for showing us the challenging days too! You were hurting, but you cowboyed up and got it done. Can't ask for more than that!
You got it done, that was your task. You should see my techniques when alone. Not pretty but Ani mals are taken care of. Thanks Keep these coming. I am laid up with knee replacement so I get my chore fix watching you. Good job v
You’ve gotta love ranching to get through days like that.
I had to laugh a little as a farmer can if I have one of though's days can I say like a rancher, I enjoy watching keep it up
Yes. You can. 😁
I enjoyed this little adventure and you handled yourself very well. Nice job roping that beautiful black horse too. God Bless you back and Thank You!
Don't worry cowboy!! Everybody has a bad day in our job. Go ahead man!!!!
Hey that’s just life great video keep them coming please
I apologize if you saw that WhatsApp message. That was Not me.
I'm from South Carolina....& I love watchin yr.videos...I learn smethn new from you about a horse every time I look at a video.....I wished I could come to Montana & visit....
I am so glad you enjoy them.
By the way, that was not me that replied to you with a WhatsApp number. Beware. Block them if you replied.
This was a great video even though you thought it wasn’t its shows how real it can be being rancher/cowboy and thats what its all about you have to take the good with the bad on any given day thank you for all your hard work showing the cowboy/rancher way keep them videos coming
This is great! It’s just how life goes sometimes. I completely enjoyed it Trinity.
I’m new to your channel. I’ve enjoyed the few videos I’ve watched so far. I plan to watch many more as I’ve always enjoyed learning more about the hard work that ranchers perform on a daily basis just to survive
It seems the hard to catch horse is also the best horse to ride to get the job done.
That Whatsapp number was Not me. Don’t know if you saw it, but thought I would let you know.
God just spoke to me and all your subscribers through you. Awesome.
Beautiful day In Montana! Thanks the video. I know nothing about ranches. Lots of information. 😊
Some mornings I'm too tired to chew through the leather straps but, I still do.
😂😂
Thanks for sharing how things are on a ranch, good or bad, we all have those kinds of days.
God bless you on this Sunday.
I appreciate that.
By the way, if you saw that Whatsapp number, that was Not me.
@@LifeintheWest I did and sent a message via messenger to tell you.
Bad day at the office, we all have them.
Good job, guys !!!!
I love it and guess what this is Real Life and thanks for sharing it with all of us!
Best video … because cowboy life is not always about all going right… lots to learn for me thank you for showing us eastern people 😊… more raw content ❤
As a "farmer" who works with cattle, i can confirm this is a usual day for me. Nothing ever goes right and plans all fall apart. We get the job done though, if only just barley. Lol
Just because it is cold does not mean you stop Ranching!!!!😂😂 good job man for cowboying up. Give you A for effort 😂😂
You got the calf, got the job done, nobody got hurt. Seems like it was a good day. A little more difficult than most but good. Good video too.
I love this video. I don't know of any time of moving cows, branding or tagging that things went perfect. Yeah, sometimes it better/easier, and you are happy for those times. 😊
That was Not me that posted the WhatsApp number. If you saw that. If you did reply to them, please block them.
Even though this was an "off" day, I really enjoyed this video. I like learning about ranching and everything you deal with.
This is your best video yet!
Great sharing of a regular day working.
It’s all endurance.
Glad someone else’s day doesn’t always go right. Enjoyed watching real life.
Yesterday was HORRIBLE weather to work livestock as I know YOU know! We had to drive down through the valley and head to Whitehall to pick up some new cows...in a blizzard/hurricane type winds CRAZY storm. You really do have to be so much more cautious when you have storm and wind conditions and you'reworking livestock. They all just get "nervy." Sure going to get fun in a couple days when we get the Arctic blast and some below zero temps all ready. UGH!
I apologize if you saw that WhatsApp message. That was Not me and I have blocked them.
@@LifeintheWest 🤠👍🏻 No my friend, I’m just now coming home from moving more critters so I missed the goofy WhatsAp person entirely. Glad you got rid of them!
Really enjoy your videos
Thank you Carl. I appreciate that.
It's a funtastic video, Trinity. I can't wait to see how the ranch life is like in the winter. We got snow days already in Southern AB. Temp's dropping to -17°C tonight.
Much respect 🙏 Thanks for sharing the bad days too.
Hey Trinity, you're not joking about wind and horses. I'm watching your video nursing 2 fractured ribs. I've spent hours,,,, days, years. Working with this guy. Today was the day I guess. You can do everything the way it's supposed to be done. Animals have their own mind.
Enjoy the videos, keep it up
That’s the truth. They can always decide that today isn’t a good day, and the wind just gives them an excuse.
You introduced the "nut neutralizer" then comment that it didn't go as well as you would've liked. Hmmm, wonder if the calves thought the same. 🤣 No worries on the sound, I like watching what you do, so the content was good. Thanks for posting.
I apologize if you saw that WhatsApp number. That was Not me.
@@LifeintheWest oh, I think you had a long day and meant to send this to someone else. Or maybe you misunderstood my joke about the calves being castrated had a rough day too? At any rate, it was a joke and I understand it's necessary to do. As for the whatsapp comments, I usually report those as spam bots to help unclog the comments. Sorry for the misunderstanding, but thanks for showing how ranching is done. I'm learning a lot, even though I have no plans to do a cattle ranch.
Thank god that wasn’t a bigger calf Trinity that would of been a bad wreck. Thanks for another great video.
Thank ya sir we love watchin your videos. We also appreciate the honesty and the reality you come with in your videos because in this line of work good days seem to be few and far between and especially when ya ridin a green broke horse or even one that's been on hot feed for a bit. Thanks again sir for showin the world true realities of a ranch workin cowboy.
Reality is Reality!
Thanks for showing how to rope a little calf. Thanks for posting I enjoy all your videos they are very interesting.
Everybody who does anything has days like that. Trick is to not string them together. 😊
Amen to that!! 😄
Good video thank you interesting 🙏
If it was perfect it wouldn’t be called RANCHING. There’s always MAÑANA.
if you haven't had a day like that then you haven't ever worked. thats why you convince yourself that tomorrow will be better lol
Yep! Just sleep on it and start again tomorrow. 👍
Yes sir you should post everything ❤
That was NOT me that commented the WhatsApp number. Hopefully you didn’t reply to them. If you did, please block them. Thank you.
@@LifeintheWest Sir,I sometimes don’t even pick up or text ppl,who know me 🙄🤷🏻♀️ Yeah me answering or texting random ppl won’t happen 🤣 Thank you !
All animals get nervous when it's windy
Don’t mind the wind because it kind of makes you feel like you’re there….the squeaky gate…all the sounds. Gives it more depth.
