  • ABS, VSA, and BRAKE lights on? Read your codes abs you will find multiple issues from wheel speed sensor to ABS module low voltage. But start by checking the wheel speed sensors. They have a wire that becomes brittle and causes all these codes. Since the sensor is like $12 on Amazon it’s a quick simple fix and will most likely get rid of all your codes and lights as those other symptoms are all a result of this one small issue. This video shows how I replaced the Front Left ABS Wheel Speed Sensor on a 2009 Honda Accord EX, which has the same ABS Wheel Speed Sensor as all 2008-2017 8th & 9th generations Honda Accords. Replace which ever side or sides the codes tell you are bad. Use a code reader or just have the codes read at Autozone. Don't address any ABS codes other than these sensors until you fix the sensors. Often the other ABS Module codes will be resolved by fixing the damaged/disconnected sensor.
    Although the work performed in the video was specifically on a 2009 Accord EX Sedan, yours will be very similar.

    spent $900.00 on having a shop replace both front sensors and 2 weeks later my lights came back on. Should have tackled this job myself and saved my money. Thank you for this video.

    Thank you! I just put a replacement ABS on after my mechanic friend replaced the wheel bearing complete hub assembly. Your video was so helpful in allowing me to do it myself. Also, I would def. take the wheel off in order to get the ABS cable strung around properly, tightly getting it into the various groove/holder spots.

    • @maxwellclements3253
      @maxwellclements3253 Před 11 měsíci +1

      You have to get in plugged into a special diagnostic computer to check it, either buy your own for a few hundred dollars - up to £10,000! or just ask your local garage to run a diagnostic only on abs, they may do it for 20 buck or even free

      Right? Lol it makes it look very easy in the video. I tried pulling out my ABS sensor today to remove the knuckle as I was doing the lower balljoint. Fucked the abs sensor, so now I got lights on the dash. My fault though, as I could've just left the sensor inside the knuckle and took out the bolts to remove the wiring. Lesson learned

      @@cliffburton6325 i was replacing my entire knuckle and hub cause the wheel bearing was not good. Thankfully new sensors are only like 30$. Since i wasnt even able to get the sensor out of my old knuckle im glad theyre cheap

      @@packerman1203 Yes I too am glad they're cheap haha. The parts guy at my work quoted me about 34 bucks for a new sensor. No complaints there. Looked up this video because I wasn't sure if there was any programming / anything else needed besides the actual installation. Glad that it looks pretty easy. But next time that my balljoint(s) go I will definitely just get a whole new knuckle lol... too much work and messing around to replace the balljoint on their own. Had to get help from one of the red seals and it required lots of hammer beating, and torching to get the old one out. Poor guy hammered his thumb at one point and left a bunch of blood spots on the ground... I'll be giving him some compensation for his efforts next I see him LOL

    If anyone needs to do this, just take your vehicle to a shop and don’t waste your time trying this on your own. The sensor will most likely be rusted into the knuckle and you will have to disassemble the entire knuckle to drill it out. 3 hours into this “simple” replacement and it’s just not worth the time or effort
