I first moved out when I was in uni and going back home after that was hard to adjust to house rules and all. I also wanted to give myself a push to be more responsible so I got my own place a few months later. The solitude was the hardest part to adjust to (and I would go back home every other time) but being alone teaches you a lot about yourself!
A few months of living solo and I love it. It's pushed me to take things seriously (there's bills to be paid 😂) and I have also found other ways of getting money that I wouldn't have explored at the comfort of my folk's place.

In Eastleigh, they custom make you white beddings at very affordable prices. Whatever size, you select material and wait for it to be made and leave with it!!! So affordable
I can recommend someone who makes them, those soft bedsheets and duvet covers, if interested. You have to be very clear on measurements coz they are very generous na material so it can come to you bigger than expected

I relate,the time i was leaving home,i felt bad n actually became emotional because i definitely had to miss my siblings n parents...on the other hand i was excited,i haven't regretted tht decision,tc challenging.

My first time moving out; I got a wheezing fit on my first night in the new flat, out of sheer anxiety. 1 week in though, I decided I wasn't looking back.

Stains on your bed, use Astonish fabric stain remover, spray give it a minute or two and then wipe it off. It will be as good as new. You can even clean your whole headboard with it. I clean my accent chair with it & no need to hire cleaners

I moved out for uni and then went back home for 2 years and I loved it. But I also love living alone (well I live with my sister) because of the responsibility. I have learned a lot (like cooking most days now) and I have grown so much. I am now much more independent than I ever thought I would be!

I never moved back home after Uni but it was mostly because Uni was in a different city from home and after a few years there it felt more familiar than the city where home was.
The responsibilities are sometimes painful I won't lie. I'm always going to bed with a calculator of how much I spent each day 🙌🏾🤣
This is a very great move , I personally moved to kasarani to be a litlle nearer to my work place and lemmi tell you everytime I would board a matatu back to thika and remember I have my place when am halfway 😄😄like wtf I could go to my place on weekends to clean and then on Monday evening coming from work I could just go back home that's how went back home after two months and only 4nights that I slept over there 😂😂😂
Congratulations Joanna! Moving out of home is such a huge step! Knowing that you 100% have to look after yourself is such an underrated milestone. Also, you know you're 100% adulting when the price of curtains and rugs bothers you, I totally relate...lol

Moved back home when COVID started .. And I still haven't left home 😂😂i don't know when I'll move back out but I'm definitely very comfortable.
Living alone is so stressful there are days you just feel like you can't deal. Taking breaks between home and your own place is sometimes a good move. Especially now when working from home is an option.

The TV stand can be painted to blend in once TV is mounted. Also once you've stained the dinning table the chair can be cushioned with fabric that compliments the table. Might be cheaper than buying. Also a coffee table with a complimenting center piece would be nice on the carpet

Had the same experience when she was blowdrying my hair with a comb...for all my hair appointments i remove my earrings
When I moved out of home for the first time i had to go to a whole new town that I had never been before, people spoke their mother tongue casually everywhere so I had to constantly ask for Kiswahili, and the house echoed cause I couldn’t afford furniture yet. It was the loneliest month of my life esp cause I had never slept in a room alone before- not in uni and not at home- let alone a whole house. I locked the bedroom and slept in the living room for that month till I bought a bed then I guess adding decor and sleeping with lights on and watching lots of cartoons helped. After a while I loved it! Now I go home and wish I lived close by so I could sleep in my own house with my pets.
