Great lineup of champions!!
Fun fact: Yogesh is the first 3 day champion to have defeated a superchampion in a runaway since Jared Waston defeated Cris Pannullo in game 2 of the 2024 Tournament of Champions, which is even funnier when this was game 2 of Jeopardy Masters 2024! Yogesh is also the first 3 day champion since Emma Boettcher to have defeated James Holzhauer, and is the 4th player to defeat James! The others were Emma Boettcher, Ken Jennings, and Matt Amodio.
Yogesh is the first champion since Mattea Roach to have come ahead of James in a runaway and is the first champion to officially defeat James Holzhauer since Matt Amodio in last year's Masters Tournament.
Yogesh is the first champion since Victoria Groce to have defeated two superchampions, and he defeated them in a runaway!
What's also funny is Yogesh and Victoria scored nearly $30,000 without finding a single Daily Double in the quarterfinals they played to win their way into this tournament!
30,000 points, not dollars 😉
@@evanbell Technically, yes. 😂 I was more so talking about their games in the TOC and JIT quarterfinals, respectively, since they still show up as dollars. 😉
3 of 4 most recent TOC winners competed in this 1st game of Jeopardy! Masters Season 2.
Was so hoping they were going to use the GOAT think music
Got it!
Congratulations Yogesh.
It's rare to see James lose, let alone lose in runaway fashion. I'm personally rooting for him, hopefully he'll pick it up in his second match!
It's rare to see James lose, let alone lose in a runaway fashion, let alone this being the second game in a row for him to have been this behind! James being James, I'm sure he'll pick it up in these next few games!
First time since GOAT Match 3 where Ken won via super lock.
Haha, I guessed "Malta City," had no idea what the capital was.
Oh wow, I've actually been to the cathedral in Valletta that was the headquarters for the order!! Malta is an incredible country if you're interested in Mediterranean History. Neolithic sites, an intact Roman Villa, tons and tons of Medieval European art and architecture... It was even the headquarters for the Allies' Mediterranean campaign in WWII. And all this on a tiny archipelago you could walk across in a day, but would take you weeks to explore thoroughly. It's incredible.
(Needless to say I got the answer before the clue was finished being read. You don't forget that kind of stuff if you literally spent a whole week immersed in it.)
Wow. A whole week!
@@clintm7274 I would love to go back, but even just that one trip was unforgettable.
James got none of the Daily Doubles in Double Jeopardy. That sealed his defeat.
This was not a normal Jeopardy James game.
Yogesh definitely surprised me in this game
I got this Final Jeopardy! clue right.
Is Jeopardy getting easier or am I just getting smarter? Oh wait, NVM I said Velvetta as in the cheese!
Damn Amy, why didn't you go all in. 😖
Probably was hoping James would miss the clue. Plus no matter what Amy or him did they wouldn't have won anyway.
Yes, but if she would have gone all in she would have gotten second place and 1 point going forward. 😃
Even if he missed the clue, he wouldn't have wagered so much, that he would have been below her score, so all in was the only place to go. Shame really. 😖
But what does the "quizzing community" think of Yogesh's sellout?
Great job, Yogesh!
Does Yogesh get credit for not actually putting it in question form? Whatere???
They probably figured it was just a misspelling of "what are" (even if the context doesn't make much sense considering the question wasn't plural).
Regardless Yogesh wasn't going to get caught anyway, so it's all moot at the end of the day.
@@NickTheEnlightened He was actually replacing "what" with "where". Production tells the contestants to write "who" or "what" while they make their final wagers, but Yogesh has always wanted to respond with "where" when the response is a place.
I do not think it is fair to brings James back.
He's already won Masters.
I hope Yegash(not sure about the name or spelling, please excuse me)I hope he wins
He's wicked smart.
I love Amy, and always hope she wins, first everytime.
Anybody but James.
Not fair.
JMO.
Yogesh
I just do not enjoy this guy. He just looks like he's not happy to be there all the time lol
That’s just a competitive face.
They should give her the title of "most liked" contestant of all time, after bringing her on for publicity and leftist brownie points instead of performance, only to have her lose badly, again, and make the decision look even more heavy-handed. Oh well, they gave it a shot.. Jeopardy has had its share of "unique" looking women on the show over the years, but it's actually quite an accomplishment to top that list, also.. Move over, Breakfast, time for an empty stomach!
Believe me, I'm still mad about the decision to bring back Amy too. It's clear she only keeps finding her way on to the show because Michael Davies likes her and has a bit of a bias towards her.
At the very least they should've clarified from the get go that the JIT second place would also auto qualify for the Masters that way they wouldn't have saddled us with the hopeless hype with the "producers pick".
I have zero problem with Amy's gender. But, I do object to Davies just putting her in Masters even though she lost. He keeps saying Jeopardy is a sport. Well, if Duke loses in March Madness, the NCAA doesn’t put them in the final four anyway.
@@judithmoore7892Unfortunately Michael Davies fundamentally just doesn't seem to understand the appeal of Jeopardy and his attitude towards the more modern players that have occurred during his tenure is very telling. He'll never outright say it but it's clear he is VERY biased towards Amy Schneider and it feels like he'll always figure out some kind of excuse to bring her back on the show no matter how little sense it makes. In retrospect when it was announced that Davies would be deciding the 6th Master contestant it should've been obvious he was just gonna pick Amy... Feels so foolish to believe anyone else had a chance.
She won 40 games in her initial run, though. I'm guessing Brad Rutter was asked to be the Producers Pick but he declined
"Leftist brownie points"...oy vey🙄.
Jeopardy has no agenda or axe to grind, both nonpartisan and apolitical. "Just the facts, ma'am."
Or do you have intel indicating that is a ratings concern for Jeopardy, coming from either left or right?
