Good video Tyler. Good information. I use COMC exclusively for buying and selling (I promise, I am NOT sponsored). I am able to avoid so many fees by using them. I avoid sales tax and instead of paying 3-5 bucks per card for shipping if I buy on ebay, I pay about $30 once a month to ship the months purchases home. I buy about 60-70 cards a month so those shipping fees and sales tax would add up quick. The 10% withdrawal fee is tough to swallow, but I don't withdraw much money per month so big picture, it's not that big a deal.
I’d love to see a video comparing eBay consigners!
Great, informative video. Thanks for making/sharing. 👊🏻
Appreciate your flat out honest takes with everything Tyler. Combination of honesty and logic in the same person in short order today.
PWCC gets people with the combination of the vault, and earlier in this decade the lending. People think they're saving money by skirting their states sales taxes, carrying less insurance, but then end up selling the cards in the platform and getting raped because they're too lazy or unfocused to look past more than 1-2 steps. I vault less than 10 cards total there but don't sell.
Getting more interested in the hobby again after two years out, pretty much always been 2-3 years in/out of my hobbies, but wow the growth of the amount of flexible morals/logic in the waxing/polishing area is insane. That's the only thing that's surprised me and will probably chase me back out before waning interest would have again. Watched the vid on that also.
COMC nickels and dimes but they save me vast amounts of time and hassle compared to selling on ebay.
Great video sir
Thank you Ziggy!
One thing about eBay too is the eBay vault. 0% seller fees on eligible items (graded $250+).
Great until buyers realize how much extra they are paying (buyers premium) vs buying the same card for cheaper that's not in the eBay vault
@@jacobfain65043% premium vs 20% premium on other vaults. It's a no brainer
There's literally no buyer's premium right now@@jacobfain6504
Love the intro lmao
It's gotta start being catchy otherwise people will X out haha
Somebody is trying to vlog themselves right out the pharmacy 😂😂😂
I am a looooong way away from being able to quit my day job lololol
Man’s got a big brain 🧠
The problem with socials, card shows, etc. is that people try to lowball.
100% - I call them out on it
This is literally one of the best card videos ever made on YT. lol
Gotta love Tyler. Went hard in that intro. Bro sent people to the butthurt specialist. LOL
There is no such thing as a legit seller that's not sick to death of eBay. Why don't we all get together and make up a new platform eBay style that does not allow the sale of digital crap, or anything but true collectables? Sports / Hobby Cards and memorabilia. Did you know that USPS does not even show the eBay envelopes tracking in their system? I've had three not delivered out of 5 since I tried them. Only two showed delivered and two of the others the buyers were honest enough to say they did receive the items. The last one claimed not delivered and eBay stole my money and I don't have the card. I also sued eBay for this same exact situation (and won btw) with a different rare item and after 19 years on eBay with a 100% perfect rating they are just screwing me, over and over. No accountability. They are essentially promoting fraud. It's out of control.
You have completely misinterpreted the "seller fee" structure for PWCC. There is NO "seller fee". There is a "buyer's premium" of 20%. The chart simply indicates that as a seller you get 100% of the final auction price, PLUS a percentage portion of the 20% buyers premium depending on the total value. For example if your card sold for $1,000 at auction, you will get paid out $1,060. THERE IS NO SELLER FEE. The buyer pays 20% on top of $1,000. Now you can make an argument that due to the buyer's premium, buyer's are going to bid 20% less on your auction, but you didn't. In fact, there are many auctions that sell ABOVE ebay comps at PWCC for same card even with buyer's premium.
The fact that you are confused on this is proof that companies like PWCC will stay in business. Such a shame. Such an easy concept to comprehend
I would direct you to my goldin auctions breakdown for a more thorough explanation. As stated in this video, the intent is to not cover in detail here. Been there done that, watch the goldin video
@TylerShort Just because you invent some arbitrary "effective seller" percent and put it in a spreadsheet doesn't make it fact. It's entirely irrelevant what any platform earns so long as you as a seller are netting market value for your card. If "Card A" routinely sells in the open market for $100, it doesn't matter if a buyers premium is 20% or 10000%, if you as a seller are getting the $100. Anything outside that is mental gymnastics. You also decided to not include the benefits of selling in many of these platforms which includes not dealing with shipping or returns or fraud and failed to give that any value in your "analysis".
It's further embarrassing and cringy as a "guru" business owner that you don't even have a tax exception license which takes all of 5 minutes to apply for. Just shows the lack of due diligence in general on your part.

@TylerShort lol you can make all the videos and spreadsheets you want it doesn't negate the fact that there are numerous variables that you don't bother to account for. Once you make your video, I'll comment on the other things you failed to consider so you can then make another video.
