  • Changing from a C# setup to E standard. A little truss rod tweek, floating the tremolo, some cosmetic changes and a thorough oiling of fretboard and neck.

    Thanks for the video. I also put a couple of wraps on PRS locking tuners.

    Always enjoy watching your videos. I don't know how to do any work on my guitar, so these do help with learning. Still though, am really intimated by having to set intonation and action on a floyd rose unless it involves only adjusting the truss rod 😀

      We'll handle some intonation on FR bridges coming up. I've got a couple I've filmed. It's easier than you think, you just have to approach it methodically and it will all work out.

      @SkyScraper Guitars look forward to it. It's mostly just something I need to get over and just dive in . I'm always afraid of doing some irreversible damage and have limited time to play everyday so I get stuck between evaluating if I should work on the guitar or use my time to practice 😆, but setups, especially if one has to get them done can be $$. So it's a must have skill.

    Dude you need to do tiny turns with a PRS truss rod. Their truss rods are very sensitive!

      Thanks Randy! I was impressed with the coil split sound. Nice and quacky... The pickups are HOT, so it's interested to play with the compression you get from the pre-amp section of my tube amps. It can have a fuzz effect with no pedal... Kinda wild!

    Very nice guitar Greg. I think PRS have a very good product with a lot of attention to detail. Gibson and Fender could take a lesson. A have a few PRS clients and always enjoy working on them. The rosewood neck looks stunning, does it feel any different? I bought the 4 set of trem blocks last week. I've always gotten by without them but wanted to show you some support. And why not make life easier on myself?

      I saw your order come through. I was going to drop a note in your package, but it got sent out before I could grab it... Thank you for the support! If you ever run into a weird repair or something you've never seen, don't hesitate to reach out.

    I’ve seen PRs Trems way in the air with 6 screw method. Looks wrong but that’s factory setting.

    Very nice thanks. One question - probably very basic - is that tremolo set up to floating out of the box.

    Greetings from Mexico, do you think this guitar can handle Drop C tuning?

  • @robcooley2202

    I tried to change out my pickup rings, ended up not being able to compress the spring and somehow messed up the wiring of the pickup so it doesn’t work anymore.

    Do you use the StroboPlus for all your intonation work?

    • @SkyscraperGuitars
      @SkyscraperGuitars  Před rokem +1

      I use it for a lot of my repairs. I have a true strobe, but it's become super touchy and it slows me down. I have pretty sharp pitch in my ears, so if something doesn't sound perfect, I'll fire up the old Peterson and chase it down. The stroboplus that I use has been put up against my real strobe and it's right on pitch. A bunch of my touring tech friends swear by them as well. I highly recommend them.
