I had the real car back in the day. Bought it off my brother in law who was getting out of the Air Force and I was back in the states for my second tour in the Navy. Owned it from 1969-72. This kit appears to be a re-issue of the Polar Lights snap kit. I have two of them and plan to duplicate my 1:1 car soon hopefully. Mine was white with a black interior and 383 c.i. motor and auto transmission. Many fond memories of that car. Nice build on your black one.
I'm a bit disappointed, wanted to see actual assembly more than just unboxing and finished product. I never bought or built a snap kit, and won't without seeing assembly of one. Also the light blue color was one of my favorites on the 1:1 car, I was hoping you would clear coat it. But color choice is personal, I think gray/black/silver/white are boring, but I understand you painting it in your color choice.

Thank you. Would love to see your 1:1 recreation.
Those snap kits are fun, quick builds and good for doing detail painting. Good looking build.
Thanks

Looks good. I heard this is pretty detailed for a snap tite fit. New tooling probably. After some detail painting no one will know its a tite fit.🙂👍

That one is so much more than a snap kit, isn’t it? I also have the Polar Lights Herbie VW, which is just as well-detailed. A good slump buster.

Did you have trouble attaching the interior to the chassis??? I cannot get it to fit correctly.
It’s like the radiator is in the way
If I remember correctly, I had to grind the transmission tunnel both on the chassis and interior tube.
@@kingranch1962I got it! I made a wrong mistake earlier in like step 3. I was able to undo and everything fit fine after!
