    Try closer to 200 microlocs. That’s why I have 210-212 locs. I maintain them solely.
    Started april of 2022.
    Good luck!

      I had to respond right away! You just confirmed the comb coils I put in…I know it’s closer to that number. Thank you so much, I appreciate your feedback, update coming soon!😊💞

      @@felamarieI think I spoke with you before about my micro locs. I started with tiny finger coils. About 455 of them. Starting micro locs with coils are AMAZING! I hear a lot of people say you can't do it but it's a lie because I have and they are really small. Locs in the 200 range would be easier to maintain I suppose. I retwist mine because just like you, I had holes throughout my head which discouraged me at first but after going through section by section and fixing them with my crochet needle, I don't have that issue anymore and just told myself to leave the interlocking alone. I actually like the look of my micros with being retwisted and how they swell up because I'm all about fullness and volume but still want them tiny. Have fun on your new journey 😊

      @@DiverseMountains You sure did!💕 And… I’m all over the place… I’m not 💯 satisfied with my outcome thus far and plus I had Shea Butter on my hair. I keep hearing these locticians say that’s a big no! I knew that but was rushing back into it. I’m going to stir things up again… figuring this out is driving me up the wall!!! I use to rock coils as a loose natural and killed it!!! But after removing my micros they not hitting the same… think I need to remove more dead ends. We’ll see what happens next girl!!! So glad you’re embracing your journey, you are soooo appreciated!!!

      @@felamarie You switched it up with the traditional size! Those coils were pretty. You'll figure out exactly what you want in no time. I would definitely stay away from the shea butters. I've seen women use it when their locs were fully mature but I still don't know about that because of the thought of creating build up inside of them. You're certainly appreciated to my luv 😁

    I maintain my own microlocs and I heavily suggest using the 4 point rotation if you had trouble with unraveling using the 2 point. Best of luck on your next journey! 🎉

    Thank you for this video, i couldn't quite articulate why i didn't "love" my loc's for 3 yrs, but definitely as you said the foundation influences a lot of the journey. I tried to "trust the process" but earlier today decided to start undoing my 3yr old babies and start afresh in the near future. Fingers crossed hoping it doesn't take a month to get through all 396 interlocked babies.

      Thank you so much for tuning in!🤗 You were quite patient with your journey, I commend you greatly! It’s hard to deny what’s true and valid when it comes to your crown. Sounds like we can relate with just wanting it right. After my take down, I tried different sizes and starter methods. I missed playing in my loose natural hair a bit. After taking my hair down several times now, I think I’ve figured it out. Least to say, I’m definitely more secure with the parting. I look forward to any updates regarding your decision moving forward. I’ll have an update soon to reveal my changes! Wishing you the best on your fresh start!❤️💪🏾

    Good on you for doing that. The longest I went was about 4 months with microlocs, but I wanted to grow the sides of my hair out because I had a Mohawk so I cut them off to even everything out. But then my scalp has been disrespectful since then so I keep taking them out after I start. Decided I want to figure my scalp situation out before I start again. Good luck on your next journey❤️

    Honestly, I’ve also been thinking about combing my micro locs out as well. These are my second set I’ve had install July 2023. The first time I combed them bout was because of my scalp acting up after having them installed, combed them out and went to a dermatologist to figure things out but almost two months later I found out I was pregnant so I wasn’t able to get the help I sought out. I knew being pregnant I would not want to really deal with my hair and I wanted to start over with my locs so I got them installed again July 2023. But after months I’m starting to think it would be easier to cater and take care of my scalp better with loose natural hair instead.

      I can relate all too well…I go back and forth trying not to have regrets but knew I’d keep complaining about the inevitable! I know you’ll figure out what’s best, it’s all in the right timing. Either way our hair is so versatile, and it’ll be beautiful regardless! Thanks for tuning in, I appreciate you sharing your journey!💞

    When l was taking down some of my interlocks to redue them, a crochet needle was a huge life saver. Giirrrlllllll that thing worked so well it had me shook 🤣

    Thank you for this video. I had 270 and I felt like they are too big and my concern is maintenance and I have approximately290 now . I was thinking of redoing them and making them smaller but I will not be proceeding with that.

      I appreciate you tuning in!💓And yes… it’s hard to determine looking at the start of your journey. Those locs will definitely condense overtime (a viewer warned me of this) especially if you’re interlocking. Please keep in touch, I hope you have an amazing loc journey with your desired outcome!🤞🏾💕

    I’m also thinking about taking out my microlocs too. How long did you have your microlocs? I was going to pay someone to take my microlocs out, but now I’m thinking it would probably be better for me to take them out myself.

      @@velocity_banking_soldier I was in for 1.5 years… just have a plan in place before the take down. Pack your patience, it took me a week. I had the nerve to go back to micro locs.😩 Just be sure your vision is on point so you have no regrets starting over!

    I apologize, but I'm having trouble following the content of the video. You didn't exactly state why, Was it too many locks? Did you not like interlocking? Did you not like the length or the size? You were talking about what you did...but you never stated specifically why.

    • @felamarie
      @felamarie  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I mentioned my foundation the primary reason and I didn’t want to combine them. Yes this is due to the parting and size of my locs being split at the beginning of my journey. Interlocking made my locs feel hard and more condensed… but it was most convenient starting my journey. I’m not opposed to interlocking but when doing so with the thinner locs it was risky. Please let me know if this response provides the clarity you were seeking. Thanks for tuning in.❣️

      @renejohn7312 Před 6 měsíci

      @felamarie Thanks 😊 a lot. I have micro locs, and I notice that my thin ones are incredibly hard because I interloc; but majority of my locs are medium-sized and their budding beautifully; they're not hard at all and are quite soft.
      Good luck on your new journey.
