Does the Amazfit Bip Smartwatch Fall Apart on its own?

- I had a few people tweet me about a smartwatch screen that was falling off. So I decided to buy an Amazefit Bip for myself and look into it: amzn.to/2Ix1rUD The Amazefit Bip has some pretty impressive specs, but that doesnt matter much if the smartwatch is falling apart on its own. Its supposed to be able to withstand some basic abuse.
Lets see if the Amazefit bip can withstand one of my teardowns. The quality of the Amazefit bip is in question, and we can find out how this fitness tracker is put together with a teardown.

That’s not how it works, the distributor will get a bulk of orders in in a variety of specifications (pre paid) and then when orders come in it is dispatched, the manufacturer won’t even know who owns the product with out software and accounts being created later on.

I've had the Amazfit Bip for a whole solid year now, and I can assure you, it's performance is outstanding! Battery life lasts for a good 2 weeks or more with all features on (well, for me it was).
However, I suggest you get a screen protector for it if you're thinking of buying the Bip, as the screen easily scratches if you have rough jagged objects in your pocket. But the build quality of the casing is great, considering that it's a plastic body.

@@BugGirl Definitely. After the battery in my pebble 2 died, I got this one. As long as you don't need to make replies to messages from the watch, I can't think of a better option at it's price point. The loop on the wristband may be it's weakest point. I do physical work and managed to break mine so I bought a wristband for a couple of bucks.
Of course there are smart watches with better looking displays and more functionality but none of them at this price point and all of them need much more frequent charging. I bought mine for $60 with slow shipping from China.

Up to 80 days when you turn off absolutely everything (Bluetooth notifications and heart rate monitor) isn't it fantastic?

I don't think Samsung will send zack a test unit for review as the device is $2200 dollars and a durability test is gonna ruin the device for the front fold will 100% get broken with 2 displays

I actually own and use this for everyday use and cycling outdoors. 4 weeks in and I’m very impressed. Previously I would only buy G Shocks as I’m very clumsy. I’ve already knocked it against door frames numerous times but so far so good. Thanks for making the video!

I can confirm that on my BIP from 2017 there's almost no glue residue between display and case. Glass started to fall off yesterday. Today I was able to take a peek inside. I've ordered some B7000, hopefully it will hold it together.

Bought more than 5 years ago and still using 60~70 days without charging. My friend has Apple Watch series 8 and we measured and compared the accuracy of both watches on walking, cycling, heart beats etc. they are pretty similar. I can afford easily Apple Watch or another expensive one such as Garmin etc. but I still cannot find reason to buy. 2 years ago my screen popped off as well, sticked it with shoe glue and still using like that. E-ink display is game changer technology, I don’t care 4K watch display if I will charge it everyday. This watch is by far the best for me.

Actually for most smart watches, the coming apart problem is due to the battery swelling and forcibly pushing the watch apart, not bad glue. It happens on watches far, far more expensive than these and is really just down to luck, whether you got a bad battery.

I love my Amazfit Bip, is the best thing in the world, i just forget i have to charge it, is very solid, i'm sure I hit the screen many times by accident and is still as new!! My best companion for running.

Bought mine new 2 years ago. About 4 months ago, went to bed, woke up in the morning with the screen dangling from my wrist. No adhesive but I cemented it back on with some industrial glue. Still alive today even with soakings with water and rain. 🤞🏻

I had mine for 4 months until the screen fell off (battery bulge). Because the US support was useless, I bought a Versa.
I purchased on Amazon, had the manufacturer warranty in my box, and Amazfit told me to talk to the vendor that they couldn't help. Even sent them pics of the battery swelling. Useless.
I loved my Bip until that moment.

I had the same problem
I bought one of these last black friday for $60 and i couldn't be happier with it. The battery has lasted me over 45 days with minimal GPS use, the screen is always on and readable (otherwise why would I wear a watch), and the notifications always arrive on time. Oh, and did I mention it has a built-in GPS? So you can run without having to take your phone with you (Fitbit, I'm looking at you)!
The thing that this needs to replace pebble watches is a larger screen, no logo on front, friendlier user interface, and ability to quick launch apps and respond like on the pebble watches.

I've never understood how some people have such bad experiences when they buy an item only. Sometimes I see reviews that bewilder me, especially when I own the same item and have had no issues. My Amazfit Bip hasn't had any problems since I've owned it.

My son and I both have Bip watches. His screen did do the random pop off thing after about a year. I used super glue to put it back and it has been just fine since. That was 6 months ago. The bands do fail so plan on buying a new band. You can pick up a metal band for $10 online.
I have an early one, right after release, though, that doesn't have a problem with glass coming off.
For the price, it's an amazing watch.
I've had mine for about 4 months now...no issues whatsoever. Bought an S3 frontier thinking it would replace my bip but man...the lightness, battery life, and sunlight visibility of the bip just make it hard to move to a "true" smartwatch.

To be honest, I like screens that do not have strong adhesive, if an adhesive is too strong, it will be impossible to repair the object without breaking it. (I'm totally okay with screens that have no adhesive, as long as they have a method of keeping the sceen in place.)
