No the videos are not boring its just that The Librarian is such a good speaker with his comforting voice and his way to describe thinks is so detailed and sometimes relateable.

Make sure to go to the bathroom first, otherwise you won't want to get out of bed from a mix of fear and comfort, something only The Librarian can make happen

I don't mind Librarian criticizing the Gmod maps since a lot of the modding community fell on hard time as well as the devs slowly go corrupt and force popular games like TTT and Half life into fan maps be forced to go on the market to be purchased. are we sure the devs aren't brainwashed to kill gmod?
Gmod is one of the best games I’ve ever played, it’s engine is so powerful and considering how old it is, it’s amazing. You can practically make a new game

Talking about the first game, I have been in a gas station that dark and creepy.
I was out picking my sister's fiance up from work when I stopped at a gas station, a BP. Walked in there, super dimly lit, and the fridge section was nearly dark and completely quiet. It didn't even have the fan noise that fridge sections usually have.
Not a lot of places scare me for a variety of reasons, but that had to be one of the most liminal places I was ever at and it unnerved me a bit.
Horror baby is truly the MVP of the experience

Random workshop finds is how I'd describe my desperate search for good horror maps with my friends. Lazarus is a quality map if you're playing alone, the thing doesn't function in multiplayer, excited to see how it looks when you're playing how you're supposed to
You missed a key in upside down dimension, you got a bad ending. Good ending has you go through a parkour section and freeing your soul
I shall now use a quote from one of my favorite shows to describe the second map
"Its like that show Becker, it had all the right pieces to make a good map, but just couldn't put them together"
Well the issue is that I'm pretty sure it was meant for a 4+ multiplayer session. That's why it played so badly in a solo session with the inescapable death rooms and really bizarre puzzles because it was supposed to be like "ohhh hahaha Joe entered the room and died" or splitting up to find all the items.
You unlocked a bunch of ancient memories bringing up that show.
I forgot all about that for years, now I remember the promos for it like it was yesterday.
It is something about his voice , that makes atmosphere at night so cozy.

I would never want to say this about someone else's passion project, and I'm very sorry to say this, but the key """puzzle""" in the second map shows a huge problem in GMod horror games without actually being bad as a map: Unlike a game like Alyx, which is a game that is so detailed that it makes you want to look around carefully, there is actually very little care put to the environment. However, because the map developer isn't confident in the length of the map, they find it appropriate to artifically increase the length of the map by VERY cheap puzzles. Those puzzles work so poorly with the existing map design, though, which enables some comically bad situations like you figuring out that supposedly fixed props fall to the ground upon making contact with them before you even figure out the designed puzzle in the map.
Love the Gmod videos! They just have some feeling no other game could replicate.

Yeah, the environment being too dark in gm_Lazarus was my main complaint as well. Especially in that area where you have to jump on the planks of wood to escape.
PS gm_Lazarus has multiple endings.

I recognise some assets from Vampire Bloodlines, like the heart-shaped bed and the speech near the end. Have you played that? I think it would fit well in your corner of creepy and comfy with its great atmosphere. It also features one of the most well received places in horror games, the Ocean House Hotel. I would love to see your reaction to that and preferably the whole game.
The game even has you go into a haunted home and even a location that was previously being investigated by Ghost Hunters before the crew got attacked by... something.
VTMB adds a third element to the horror chart: Creepy, Comfy and Campy. It even alliterates!
As a fan of the game, I would LOVE to see librarian play it

I just watched Skinamarink... oh boy that film was creepy, it's the dread I used to have when I woke up in the middle of the night as a kid. The film felt like a nightmare. You should go watch it man, I enjoyed it.

Map 2 Rules: Rule 1, No flashlight, breaks rule 3 minutes in. Rule 2, No guns pulls out gravgun 7 minutes in. Rule 3, No noclip, broken right after rule 2 was broken. I get it the map may have broken, but that don't excuse the other..... oh, and then you delete the crusher to free horror baby. 😂😂😂
