Diffey doing what the pbp guys do in the NFL, NBA, MLB and the NHL and that's talk to the athletes off camera to get some solid info/insight for the broadcast. I know some people don't like him but he's a well respected announcer in several different motorsports who apparently does his homework.

And I will never understand why people keep hitching their wagon to Lewis. That guy is one of the most annoying humans I've ever had to listen to! Both Phil and Steve are right about the Red Cross flag. However whether the flag was out by mistake or it was right. The Red Cross flag is the most serious flag to be waved while a race is going on and it needs to be respected. The penalty should be 5 places in my opinion.

Flag effectiveness is really tough. Flagged Thunder Valley last year, and having ridden that track many times (live 4 miles away), I know the section leading up to where I was at it's rare to look up where I was told to stand. I could only move up-track a little, 'cause I had to be able to see the flagger down track from me, and I couldn't move up track far enough to capture the riders' attention. What they need to do is make a simple, standard in helmet system that works off of Wifi (yes, it can be easily done), then they can warn all riders immediately. That said, what they should have done is had that red flag entering that last turn. Rule is ya can't jump until you're after the downed rider (granted, Friese wasn't "down"). If that red cross flag was when they were entering the turn, and the riders didn't see a rider in that corner, they know to roll the jump until they do pass that rider.

AMA should self-induce penalties when they mess up something (not major, but like $1k as an example for the red cross flag being waved errantly) and the money should be put into the LCQ Privateer Challenge Payout. Would help them save face a bit in the public eye with their re-occurring lapses and reduce their own hypocrisy, as they financially penalize rides for stupid reasons all the time.
Again, we need to stop comparing our sport to all other sports especially ball sports. We are unique and that's why its great and why we love it over all other sports. Don't get rid of ktm juniors .
That's what I think should happen as well. Lights at the entrance of big rhythm sections, triples/other large jumps, and finish line. They already have people who are capable of this working for them.
I'm curious to know why the professionals want do much track prep now that they are pros but when they were amateur racers they never refaced a track throughout the entire day. I understand some things need to be addressed at some point but you're professionals not amateurs
