I have heard Carol of the Bells on hammer dulcimer done by one other person and I think this is simply THE instrument to play it on. Thanks for sharing with us.
Super gift you have with this fabulous instrument. 40 years ago I was introduced to this heavenly sound. I bought a book on building one and never was able to. But I always am drawn to them. And I agree this song is the perfect fit. Blessings on you and yours!
It’s my favorite carol for a reason! The suit was made as a gift by the brilliant costumer Truly Carmichael, whose historic hats can be found at trulyhats.com
My favourite Christmas tune. I found it played too quickly here for my tastes so thanks to the settings on CZcams I played it at 0.75 speed. Much more enjoyable to my ears
Absolutely a great rendition! Looks like you're been playing for some time with your relaxed style. I had a hammer dulcimer several years ago, along with a mandolin and guitar. Enjoyed playing till arthritis made it too difficult. Thanks for sharing and bringing back pleasent memories.😊
This was beyond lovely on so many levels! Just watching your hands & hearing the beautiful melody was mesmerizing!! I will be replaying this many times a day!! It’s pure beauty!! Thank you for sharing your talent!!
You would be surprised, there are a lot more of us than one might think and it’s a popular folk instrument in isolated communities all over the world in a dozen different traditions

An absolutely lovely rendition of my favorite Christmas song; dare I say the very best I've ever heard! Thank you for sharing your gift! Merry Christmas!
Beautiful instrument playing a beautiful song in a beautiful setting. I live in rural Bogalusa so this hits home for me. I love the woods of Louisiana. I am home bound so I cannot attend this festival. So glad I found this video!
You have no idea how much I absolutely love this. I’ve never heard of this instrument before, but hearing my favorite Christmas song on it just is something special to me. A fantastic job, good sir!
There’s just something so indescribably satisfying and powerful about how you played this one. I’ve listened to others, and they all sound amazing, but I think it’s just the key you played it in. Simply fantastic, and this is going in my Christmas playlist immediately!
I came across this just now and oh my gosh! I'm just stunned at the beauty of it.♥️ You've truly touched my soul. So beautiful ♥️ Thank you and Merry Christmas!♥️🌲
Simply beautiful and different! Carol of the Bells is one of my all time favorite holiday songs. Thank you for sharing. May you have a healthy and safe 2024!
Love it and that awesome lit single bell at the end... Merry Christmas to you and yours, too! Bible tells us in Zechariah 14:20: "In that day “HOLINESS TO THE LORD” shall be engraved on the bells of the horses. The pots in the LORD’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar." God bless your heart!!
It’s a lot easier to get the Dulcimer, it’s a Dusty Strings D 35 (now discontinued and replaced by the D 45), but the epic suit was a gift from the amazing Truly Carmichael

I agree! I wonder if it isn’t because it’s a Ukrainian melody and the dulcimer has a long history in the region. Thanks for listening!
