recently been reading his biography and it’s so nice how your analysis matches who he really was or what the author tried to pass onto the readers about Cummings. great great work.

May I? Suddenly he remembers the Winter.he once experienced in this kind of love/ emotion - a love which was dead like the snow which prevents growth (opening the petals as in Spring.) The reference to "colours of countries may refer to the flags.of the countries. This evokes the idea of patriotism. Then the rest of the line makes sense. He would give his life.(breath) for his country, this connects to how deep and powerful that love.is and that he will her to his last breath. This poem may be a reflection of the love that came his.way after two failed marriages. His last marriage lasted for.approximately 30 years.
