    Lyrics:
You have to learn to pace yourself
    Pressure
    You're just like everybody else
    Pressure
You've only had to run so far
    So good
But you will come to a place
Where the only thing you feel
Are loaded guns in your face
And you'll have to deal with
    Pressure
You used to call me paranoid
    Pressure
    But even you cannot avoid
    Pressure
You turned the tap dance into your crusade
Now here you are with your faith
    And your Peter Pan advice
You have no scars on your face
    And you cannot handle
    Pressure

Awesomeness, if you like Pressure and have listened to some of the other cuts from The Nylon Curtain (May I suggest Laura if you are a fan of the Beatles? Goodnight Saigon is worth the listen for this album alone, Room of Our Own is fun, and She's Right On Time are some of the more memorable cuts I can think of off of that album that I enjoyed myself.) Album wise if you like Doo Wop and Motown sounds pick up An Innocent Man, between this one and The Stranger those two albums might be the best that Billy released in my opinion even though I would say 52nd Street and Glass Houses need more love than they get. Also check out All For Leyna from Glass Houses.

There I was an innocent 10 year old sitting in front of the TV and a commercial for this album came on that included a snippet of the video for this song and my young ears perked up and my attention was instantly grabbed by the powerful music and voice . I absolutely loved it and was left wanting to hear more of it ....thus I was hooked on The Piano Man. My love and admiration for Billy as a brilliant musician and amazing singer has only increased with his ever growing list of hits and radio staple classics in the 40 years since that fateful day. Pressure still remains a particular soft spot and favorite for me because it was the song that led me to him.

Some people know, very well, how to APPLY pressure to others but, in turn, cannot handle any pressure on themselves. Pressure OF ANY KIND!

IMO, Billy Joel is one of the greatest male singers of all time. That's across all genres.

The first time I heard this song was around October, 1982. I was working at an electric motor repair shop
in downtown Montgomery, Alabama, and heard it on the old WLSQ-AM 1170.
I was kind of surprised it was Billy Joel. It didn’t sound like any of his earlier hit songs; in fact, it reminded me of a Russian Cossack doing their way of dancing with arms crossed and legs moving outward. No shit. And it came out about the same time Golden Earring released “Twilight Zone”.
