Kurt wasn't the GREATEST guitarist ever. He was the BRAVEST which is why he's idolized for his skills. He makes mistakes, but isn't afraid of them. He plays the guitar out of tune, sings in the wrong key, but who the fuck cares? This is why the band had so much success - because they are unique. I treasure videos like this!

By the way, despite the fact that Killing Joke won their claim that the song was stolen from their 'Eighties' it is The Damned with Life goes on that was earlier ...........the origin of this song......Though coincidences do exist: Nirvana never made a secret of covers they played as far as I know, so it might just be an idea floating in universe caught by various artists....

i think its because his guitar is totally out of tune a bit before breed and a lot after breed, so that it was impossible to sing come as you are in the right key...

looks and sounds like they started come as you are without tuning. so I think Kurts performance of the song is representative and almost necessary to sing it so differently masks the out of tuned ness

i wouldn't say that, he is a good singer and a great guitarist too bt there are others that can play the guitar better(jimmy page for ex). What makes this guy unique is that he does both things at the same time (sing and play) and he does them great. The only one who i believe can "compete" with Kurt is Paul Stanley from kiss, although in my opinion Kurt is a better guitarist and Paul a better singer. Bt ofc they both rock :P

no im not. i admit that he is a amazing compositor because he made things extraordinary with simplicity. your part of It depends in what you express and transmit with your notes. comes in composing skills. not all fast guitarrists are great ones because they cant compose a solo straight. but its not being a good guitarrist, that he was not so he is really overated. sorry mate i used to be a nirvana fan also but you know i listened to other music :D and you sould also just so you can also see it.

whaaaaaaat? he is the most overated guitarrist of all time. he was a hell of a compositor he made simple music feel nice and that is a gift but not a good guitarrist. he is 12th in Rolling Stones magazine. WTF??? he only uses no more than 6 f**** chords in 1 music and with 1 crappy solo... tell me if im wrong.
