Join us as we circumnavigate Nusa Penida and dive some of Bali's harder to reach dive sites.
We start our dive haul with a dive at Manta Point. One of the most famous dive sites in the Bali region, this is a manta cleaning station on the southwest coast of Nusa Penida. Coral growth is not prolific here, with bottom topography consisting of limestone rocks and small, sandy bays. Reef mantas (manta alfredi) seek shelter provided by the bays for cleaning, socialising, and feeding. In addition to mantas, blue-spotted stingrays and bamboo reef sharks regularly visit the site.
Dive two is Malibu Point (possibly?) which is on the far east side of Nusa Penida. The dive site is exposed to the open ocean and experiences powerful currents. Consequently, both the hard and the soft corals are low-lying with plenty of whip corals.
Dive three is on the east coast of Nusa Penida. The dive site is opposite the small fishing village of Suana, whose beaches are lined with junkung, the traditional small fishing boats.
Dive four is Sampalan, located on the northeastern side of Nusa Penida, where the marine life is similar to SD. Some slopes are full of soft coral, with reef fish hovering to get nutrients from the rich water. Thresher sharks and hammerheads have been seen swimming in the blue.

Wow that water is so clear. Your videos always amaze me.
Thank you for the comment ❤
That ninja manta is magical...
I like how you took down the map from the wall in the beginning 😂
It makes talking about the dives so much easier! It also took me a long time to unhook the map 🤣🤣
@@DivingandDogs hehe thats our security mesure to stop people taking off with the map😂😂😂😂
Been binge watching your Lembongan Ceningan Penida playlist for the past couple of days.
An aspiring diver here, can't wait until I can take my days off and actually take a diving course in Lembongan. Thanks for getting me even more hooked on 👌
I'm so glad you enjoyed the videos. Lembongan & Penida has some of the best diving in Bali. Thank you for your comment.
Didn't expect you to respond back that quick, thanks!
Quick question, what camera did you use for the videos?
@@ufandes Hello, I used GoPro 9. I like to travel light and GoPro seem the best option.
@@DivingandDogs awesome, looking forward to more of your dives 🤿
@@ufandes Thank you
I like seeing the cliff of Nusa penida, So beautifull
The whole stretch of the South Western coast is like this. It reminds me of something out of Jurassic Park.
@@DivingandDogs Is there any boat tour or not ,surrounding the cliff ?
@@ahmadyoung1732 I don't believe it is something the island does. BUT you could get a group of people together, hire a boat for the day and circumnavigate the island as I did. It is well worth doing as the beaches and the cliffs are impressive.
I like the new mask! That octopus was amazing too, I can’t believe how long it hung around for!
The octopus was amazing. Never had one carry on hunting whilst being filmed.
This is amazing underwater video footage. My wife and I will be spending 7 weeks travelling around Thailand and Indonesia and we will be diving a number of times. This will be our first experience in S.E. Asia and we can't wait. We are spending 3 nights on Nusa Penida and are excited to see these beautiful Manta Rays. We would love to see the elusive Mola Mola too but who knows. Would you recommend a specific dive shop on Nusa Penida? I realize you were staying on Lembongan. Thanks and look forward to more videos!
Thank you for the kind comment and I'm glad you enjoy my videos.
I have been in touch with my friends on Lembongan and these are the following recommendations for diving out of Penida.
Jason at Blue Corner Penida www.bluecornerdive.com/nusa-penida
Serena at Reeflex Penida www.reeflexdivers.com
Ark & Vic at Pure www.purediveresort.com
Enjoy your time there, the diving is probably the best Bali can offer 👍
@@DivingandDogs thank you very much for getting back to me and for passing along the contacts on Nusa Penida! We can't wait for our 7 week adventure of a lifetime! Diving, mountain climbing and exploring!
Have fun, Penida is an amazing place!
👍😍😍😍
Thank you
What do you use the color grade your videos? Amazing shots!
Thank you. I use the GoPro 9 in these videos, and then I believe I post produced them in imovie. That was over a year ago. Now I shoot on a GroPro 11 and post produce in Final Cut.
I just came across your video, they are awesome. Are you using a GoPro Camera? The clarity and sharpness on the video are so clear!
For this video, most of the film is shot with a Gopro 9. My friend Rich is shooting with a Gopro 8.
Thank you very much for the feedback.
I have just brought a Gopro 10, and my following video underwater scenes will be shot with that whilst I keep the Gopro 9 for land and boat scenes.
@@DivingandDogs Thank you so much, I have a GoPro 8 and never used in in water. now I know it's potential.
@@frankwener7865 I'm glad I could help 👍
