I agree about being very invested in these characters. The actors are doing a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life for me. I care about what happens to these people, which is always the most important part of any story I watch or read. I'm excited to see more of both the series and your reactions to it. As a long time fantasy reader and watcher I can't tell you how excited I am for this channel. Great job on the video! Rosamund Pike as Moiraine is everything and more that I ever wanted. Every face twitch and eye movement is so spot on. This show has been better than anything I imagined while reading the books. Looking forward to your next reaction video.
Taran, this is such an awesome idea. Love having a safe space to discuss the Wheel of Time without book spoilers. This episode was so great. Each episode has only made me more and more invested in the characters as they reveal more of their motivations and values. Loved the introduction to Siuan and the Amyrlin Seat as well as the exploration of the different factions within the Aes Sedai. It’s so interesting that each faction is quite delineated from each other in terms of their role and values and yet some of the remaining characters treat them as a monolith, as women who are not to be trusted. I do find it a little bit mind boggling that characters like Nynaeve still continue to distrust Moiraine after she’s proven herself again and again. Hopefully, the show can explore that character trait further if the mistrust continues. In general, the actors are amazing and all share a great chemistry with one another and the world itself feels very rich and expansive. Really enjoying it so far!
Yeah! Unfortunately, it's probably pretty realistic in how we tend to view groups of people as monoliths. I did like that Rand seemed to come around a bit on Moiraine after she healed Mat.
This is perfect! As a non-book reader I want to hear a review that isn’t a constant comparison to the books that usually comes with a side of Snark and saltiness 🙄. Subscribed !

The TV series is giving Moiraine much more emotional depth than the books and I really enjoy that. I would love if you would make a video at some point about the differences between the show and the book series and how these changes work (or don't work) in terms of adapting what's on the page into a visual medium.

Taran, I know of you from my wife’s devotion to Big Brother, and now I get to enjoy some of the Taran fandom as well. I think you’ve really hit the mark here. I’m only into book 7 now (and loving the series), but I’m taking the TV show as a thing in and of itself. The emphasis on Moiraine in episode 6 was great. Rosamund Pike nails it. I’m also loving the portrayal of the White Tower and its politics. It’s messy and not for the faint of heart.
