  • Carlton Pearson
After college at the Oral Roberts University in Tulsa Oklahoma he served for 15 years on its Board of Regents, and two years as Associate Evangelist of The Oral Roberts Association, (ORA).
In 1977, Pearson founded Higher Dimensions Ministries (now New Dimensions ), in Tulsa, which grew to over 5,000.
Bishop Pearson was consecrated to the office of Bishop in 1996 thru a College of Bishops headed by Bishop Charles E Blake, presently the Presiding Bishop of the Churches of God In Christ, the denomination he was raised in and through whom he was ordained in 1971.
In 1993, Carlton married the former Gina Marie Gauthier who is a professional Life Coach and Yoga teacher.
More recently, he has felt a passion to proclaim the "Gospel Of Inclusion" and has written a widely acclaimed book by that name, published by Simon and Schuster. It confronts the Christian church's exclusivism as being inconsistent, in spirit with the teachings of Jesus.
Pearson's frank and often controversial take on a number of different subjects has earned him appearances on television programs such as NBC and MSNBC's Dateline, ABC's Nightline, 20/20, Good Morning America, CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, BET Tonight with Tavis Smiley, The Edge with Paula Zahn and Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, The Monique Show on BET, and a number of other television, radio and print media outlets. Bishop Pearson was recognized as one of America's 10 Most Influential Black Ministers by Gospel Today and Belief.net. He has received several honorary doctoral degrees.
Bishop Pearson recently served as the Interim Senior Minister at Christ Universal Temple in Chicago. He and Gina now host New Dimensions of Chicago, building a local multi-cultural and radically Inclusive spiritual community that emphasizes expanded consciousness and Self Actualization. His newest book, God Is Not A Christian, Nor A Jew, Muslim, Hindu...God Dwells With Us, In Us, Around Us, As Us was published by Simon and Schuster and released in the spring of 2010.

I am truly glad you’re here to help me through this transition. Those who don’t yet understand might understand it one day.... hopefully. And if they don’t understand it ever, hopefully they can learn to be respectful. Nuff love and respect ✊🏽

So Much to learn and unlearn! God~ this was powerful and no one cannot tell me that God in its most holy of holy wasn't ministering to ME thru this video, while Bishop Pearson was ministering and teaching. I felt the presence of God's spirit just as if I were in a building celebrating and shouting with the other saints of God and listening to the speaker or head shepherd of the ministry.

I'm enjoying your manifestation. I listened to you mostly at night when it's quiet. CARLTON I WANT YOU TO KNOW I'M TIRED OF FOLLOWING THE BELIEFS OF OTHERS. I JUST WANT TO BE MYSELF AND GROW LISTENING TO YOU AS A MENTOR. I WILL READ MY NIV BIBLE AND ESTABLISH MY OWN INTERPRETATION AND OTHERS AUTHORS LIKE YOU.

It's amazing to read some of the comments on Mr. Pearson's videos...those that want to "rebuke" him and cry about "I don't know what made you turn against God.." There are some people that just will NEVER wake up! Humans often become so devoted and entangled in their belief systems that they can never imagine altering those beliefs. i often look at ancient Rome and Greece and wonder how in the world people could have built massive temples to so called gods and built an entire culture around those beliefs. And people were JUST as serious about them as many of these Pearson bashing Pentecostals. I have been doing a lot of listening to CZcamsrs from the COGIC who are now making videos proclaiming how the church has lost it's way and talking about how wonderful the years were under the founders of the organization and that's when they had "real church and real teachings". People get so lost and confused and AFRAID...when they don't have a charismatic disciplinarian to lead them! Just as Mr. Pearson talked about in this video...with the influence Moses supposedly had over 2 million + people. So many people read the scriptures like a child, complete with Charlton Heston images. There is no way that story played out the way the scriptural story illustrates it. How could Moses have even SPOKEN to millions of people where they could hear him without technology? How could - HE - just melt down a golden calf and make people drink gold dust water without a lot of process and help from others? There had to be much more going on than what the sparse scriptures indicate, yet people read them literally and form childish images of the event. And this goes on and on with other Biblical accounts. I remember being a child and asking questions when certain Biblical images didn't add up logically and then being told "you have to just believe it". And that is why we have millions of people walking around blindly following doctrine and traditions they think are "the answer" and why these religious leaders yield so much power and influence over them!

It is amazing to me, even as a pastor I am often bewildered by the hatred that comes from my own Brothers and Sisters in Christ. The level of narcissism wrapped up in acrimonious Behavior All In The Name of Jesus. In their mind law brings order and Grace and mercy starts confusing, but they say they are gracious but rarely show Grace outside of their own Church identification. There is never a Biblical understanding of anything, just emotions and feelings and logic is pushed out the door. Common sense is not encouraged or identified as being Godly. Even Jesus understood that the problem with man was internal not external and yet we use Jesus to better our external relationship with the world and not our internal Corruption of our heart. If everyone looked after everyone else as is subscribed the world would be a beautiful place and diversity would be accepted not rejected. But I will labor to try and continue to show love and tell the truth of what real love represents. Give me Grace in this matter.

I too came up under the Pentecostal church, COGIC to be honest. My entire family was and is there, but for me I began to question some NO I will keep it real, I questioned all their teachings. I saw some of the most hurtful mishaps, words being spoken to me that were negative by those whom held titles the hurtful, damaging things they did not only to me but to many others. I could never grasp how this God they taught that was so loving in one sense but so vile and jealous. The rules they had/have I just could not stay. I saw us in prayer lines every Sunday for the same thing for the same deliverance week after week. I have money to evangelist that claimed to be the one that was chosen to bring deliverance, but it came with a price. I asked is God for sale? Is the so called blessings of God for sale, and does God expect women, families to give all they have in an offering only to go home afterwards and not be able to feed their children. Do hear the gossip was this God? The condemning they do when one chooses to have views that do not line up with theirs. My father is a Pastor in the COGIC church and does not understand when I say I do not feel God hates the gays, or those who is not going to church, but say they love God. Who am I to argue? The teachings don't make sense to me. That this LOVING!!! God has placed conditions on the one thing that is to be unconditional. So I am glad you stepped out of your comfort zone and made a choice to tell the truth. I saw you on several occasions, Azusa, A church in Chino,Ca, I followed you on TBN, that took guys, faith and strength to walk away from all the followers and offerings, accolades, position they had you. I commend you on your courage. They still amaze me when I hear you say how they have condemned you to a reprobate. My own father does. But then preach the word of when we see our brother or sister in what they feel is a fault to lift them up and pray.... but they scandalized you, drug your name across the dirt, and this is God? I see why the churches are empty. Folks only want the truth, no religious gimmicks, no false prophecies for a offering. To fake mess. So thank you, I am praying with you as I ask that you would for me. I need to see a moving of the true God, I am asking for some doors to be opened. Stay encourage Bishop, I still have the utmost respect for you.

Pamela, I feel you. I was raised the same way and always struggled with it for more than 30 years. I recently left it all alone and I feel a whole lot better now.

I honestly appreciate some of what Bishop Pearson says, but I find his dishonestly about and towards Trump disheartening and sad. He says things about him that simply aren't true.
