- Located in a detached section of Quartz Mountain State Park is a Baldy Mountain. Well known by rock climbers and bouldering enthusiasts, this is also home to one of the best mountain top views in the state of Oklahoma.
A one-mile trail leads to the top of Baldy Point where there is an expansive view of the landscape below. From the top one can see the main Quartz Mountain State Park along with the dam that creates Lake Altus-Lugert.
Baldy Point along with Quartz Mountain is part of the Wichita Mountains located in southwestern Oklahoma. It is just a short distance from the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge, which is home to bison and Texas Longhorn.

Same here. We lived in Altus for 4 years late 60s early 70s and spent quite a few weekends at that lake. Great memories.

Title of video is a bit misleading, as you didn't actually video the state park or camping facilities within, or tell us the pros and cons of overnight stays.
Hi, both the description and the title of the video describe Baldy point trail as the main focus in the State Park. Quartz mountain state park does have tent and RV camping
