This reminds of how the Zetian Wu was improved from the originals to the Heyday, glad to see that companies are associating high end/high res sound with better and smoother tuning rather than just boosting bass and calling that tuning an upgrade

another KZ release that includes the ZES cable, very nice (you can only get the inline mic version of that cable with certain IEMs since the standalone release has no option of including an inline microphone)

so uh, I want to buy new set of items since my zsn pro x's kinda died. Please help me with this. I want to try out the kz pr1 pro but although people say it's really good and clean I feel like I would like smooth iem's more than grainy ones. I don't know if I should get the kz pr 1 pro or the kz zs10 pro x as they have some big price differences. I has the samson sr 850 semi open over ears for detail and wide sounding, I want something fun sounding for the items on the go. the pr1 pro's just look so damn sexy

Have you measured the AirPods or cable earphones of Apple, I am curious on there tuning because it sounds so good for the ears, if possible can you measure the Apple earphones
If you need to use an iPhone, buy a transfer cable, which will more or less affect the sound quality experience.

Hmmm, would have thought it’ll be even airier than OG yet sounds less airy? The OG has less bass than PLA13 and this one even less? Would the bass quality be better or just, less?
Less bass = more details = less colouring

Timeless is bassy neutral with shiny upper mids.
s12 pro is sharper, has more treble.
zetian wu is a cheaper alternative to timeless and I guess it has a very sharp treble but not terrible.
kz is a mess whatever you try from them. bloated mids, sharp upper mids metallic and in case of planar models PAİNFUL treble.

@@mokisan It would be better to believe the words of an expert at Head-fi or a reviewer who has tried dozens or even hundreds of IEMs over the years. They know more about the pros and cons of an IEM than people who only look at the FR. 😉

graphs DO give consistent reliable information. and what we are seeing here is pure mediocrity.
if you are interested in planar magnetic technology you can check out Kinera's Celest gumiho and an new pure planar model that they are planning to release.
they are cheaper, has better accessories and sounds more natural.

I'm concerned about "Noise Isolation"
Please do a test on music performance in noisy environment & advise, how is the performance of it's noise isolation & seal?
Because I use earphone a lot during commute.
iem naturally cuts out noise because it creates a seal in your ear cannel but not 100% cut off. for this i would say it cuts off about 60% of the outside noise.

on 7:49 by just seeing the cable mark, i think you put the cable on wrong side..
the left side should hook to the blue mark cable, cos the right side should use the red mark cable..

Yes
The cables were labelled. One side had a black band and the other side had a red band. Red is for the right channel.
You can pay more attention to the product details.

i would prefer the pro, it sounds more correct to my ears but the OG has a sense of a more airy treble and sounstage

@@xeruskun it shouldn't be too high from the target curve. look at how it rises above the target curve like the tower of sauron.
it makes the music hissy, tinny, metallic and unrealistic.
take a soda can, cut its upper half and put against your phones speaker, Thats how it probably sounds like.
I open an EQ app and boost the 8 and 16 khz bands by 8 db. you should feel the pain.
nice video!!, but it looks like you're using a non balanced connection and cheap external c-media sound card that in itself are not professional enough to measure the balance. i might be wrong, feel free to correct me if i do✌
I’ve never claimed that my measurements were of professional level. Also, most hobbyists are also using this soundcard as it can be bundled when you buy the coupler. Nothing is right or wrong, this measurement is just a preview for you guys, nothing beats a live audition of the earphones and since most of you don’t have access to that, my videos are the closest you can get before making an informed decision before buying.
@idan124 I was the one who helped Ian acquired his soundcard. FYI, this C-Media soundcard is what 90% of the IEM reviewers out there are using (including myself and Crinacle). Crin uses Apple dongle as a "soundcard" as well. Therefore, if you have an opinion on which soundcard Ian should be using, please do some research before you comment.
@idan124 There is reason why Ian performs a level check before running the frequency sweep. This is to ensure there is not discrepancy in the levels and both channels are properly matched. Even when the soundcard's left and right channels are off by 5dB, that level check would have caught it in an instant.
@@KopiOkaya unrelated but wants to tell I changed the filter on blon bl03 with Tanchjim Tanya..oh man the driver opened up..clean tight punchy bass. the tuning and timber of that driver is amazing. I am reaching out 03 than my S12 planar now. not sure you are behind but thanks. is ther any straight upgrade to this 1 dd iem.

Congratulations! but, in my opinion, you review isn't complete. The PR1 PRO need be compare vs P1 Balanced and not PR1 Hi-Fi because the PR1 Pro is in the line o balanced edition and not of Hi-fi version! Thanks!

@@xeruskun Bro, I have PR1 Hifi version now, I think KZ release Pro version to give more volume cause of their mistake in Hifi version. PR1 Hifi need max of volume in my DAC. In terms of sound quality, I guess that Hifi version may be better.
what we are seeing here is my friends is a new specimen from KZ
when you look at to subbas you can see a relatively normal Subbas response. its good. after 200 hz this get out of the hand and we get a bloaty mess up until 1khz. it gets calmer gives us some hope that they might be onto something other than mediocrity.
and we are surprised; yes they diviate from their triple horns on the upper mids and give us some calm, smooth upper mids. but only to attack us from the treble area.
they hold nothing back. agony, pain, suffering rains down from the treble area as your eardrums bleed from the torture.

bbut as time passes by I realized that they were not novice at all. they are a master at being consistently lackluster and ignorant.

Here's a tip; don't be a brand fan, ESPECIALLY if that brand is not being honest with their business partners and customers.
