El I am so glad you questioned Gravesâ disease
My daughter is the third generation with Graves and thyroid. Hannah has had to have her thyroid removed due to Gravesâ disease. It has had a long term affect on her heart and anaemia. Along with calcium deficiency . Like you she keeps fit. Altho not had children.
In my case it took 12 years of me going back and forth to the GP to finally get my thyroid sorted. Iâm now on 150mg thyroxine daily.
Hannah meanwhile because she didnât think Thyroid would be on her radar yet it put her heart into stress.

Super happy for you Ell that you finally got a diagnosis . The most basic of tests really should be a regular routine for new Mums . I too had a similar experience, in 1991 I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl , 3 weeks post birth I haemorrhaged severely . My first baby and I kept losing clots the size of eggs ! A receptionist told me I was a paranoid first mum and it was normal đ. How wrong was she ! I almost lost my life . Blue lighted to hospital. Turned out it was placenta membranes left behind at birth . I had a d&c ..... of course it was the time of the NHS discovering the HIV bloods given to patients? Thankfully under their recommendation I didnât have a blood transfusion. But remained poorly for years like yourself ,,,, dizzy etc . I was clearly anemic ( only found with my 2nd pregnancy. Even today the follow up on patients isnât what it should be . To this day I suffer PTSD from the trauma of loss of blood . Any women reading this ...always question your symptoms to the medics , donât assume itâs normal or more importantly take advice from the receptionist. Ell you're a fabulous Mum ! Love the video as always. I have travel sickness, as do my children. I had to turn my car seats around and make them forward facing in the end. There is nothing worse than not being able to see where you are going when youâre feeling crappy x

I love watching your vlogs they are so relatable..im so glas your doing ok now ..i also was very anemic after having my son due to loosing alot of blood and it took them a few weeks and for me to almost faint holding my newborn baby for them to realise and actually give me anything . They never followed up correctly or took me serious and it meant i had to be on iron tablets for nearly 3 years ..its amazing what our bodies go through just for our babies and how we would do it all again in a heart beat your absolutely smashing it and such a inspiration †xx

This happened to me too! With severe anaemia, I thought it was mental health related and then after the iron tablets i felt sooo much better. Which is amazing but itâs scary what it can make you feel like. Glad youâre okay now â€ïž

Seriously though, lovely vlog both of you. Ell, Iâm sorry you had zero aftercare after the birth of the boys. Womenâs health care can be really rubbish. âTake paracetamol, youâll be fineâ, it drives me nuts. Glad youâre all sorted now, that must be a big relief.

It sucks how women have babies and major surgery for some deliveries and they are told to go home and take Tylenol for pain and do their Kegels! I am 66 years old and just learned how to do a proper Kegel in the last year!!! My body was damaged after two births and a miscarriage...Tylenol can't fix that!!! I hope you feel better soon Ell and get back to 100% so you can kick life in the... Take care you two, you're awesome! đ„°đ„°

Iâve been anxious (on meds and super glad they took away the feeling of having a constant heart attack, no longer taking), Iâve been anaemic⊠Iâm now going through the menopause (now looking at HRT) I think youâve also lost some followers after the this âhouse is too bigâ post⊠own up and say youâve been over confident and move on⊠your audience will forgive you â€
El I'm suffering with horrendous anxiety and daily life is such a struggle. I'm not sure if you'd tell me what medication the doctor put you on because I'm trying so many different ones and nothing is helping. I totally understand if you'd rather keep it private but just thought I'd ask just in case. Love your videos â€

Dr's receptionists aren't qualified to give a medical opinions. Always check your results with your Dr or Nurses, if the practice has a Nurse.
Absolutely correct. If a person calls the practice I work at wanting results for any test they get put through to me. The receptionists canât and wonât read or give results to a patient

Omg ell I had all these symptoms when I was anemic after having the twins and it was awful !! I feel like a different person after taking iron, I didnât realise it would affect me that much ! I lost a lot of blood and wasnât given any iron either ! đ€
