- After a big snow storm rolls through, Matt heads out after work on an afternoon kayak duck hunt with his 20 gauge. There's lots of ducks around and Matt has the marsh to himself. It turns out to be an amazing hunt! The birds are here!

Respect on passing on that second bull can. Even with a dog, a wounded bird hiding in cattails is never a 100% recovery. Wise decision that resulted in another subscriber for ya!

I'm appreciating that your keeping your videos "natural". Getting tired of some of the other guys trying to pimp their gear. I work so I can afford to hunt, not so I can support other peoples hunts.

What an awesome all drake limit with the mighty 20. Now you'll have to bust out the 28 and do the same. I always hate to stumble when out in the mud and water, sucks getting wet. Glad the birds wanted to cooperate.

Love it! At my club in UT we have all the ducks you shot on a regular basis. The canvasback is our marquee bird. I call your limit a “Heinz 57”. As you know, you are usually shoot 5 drake mallards and hoping to shoot the bonus bird. Way to go! A great day! Thanks!

Hey there my man. I love your videos. I’ve been trying to get one of the CZcams guys to make a video of waterfowl ID while in flight or at a distance. I’m very impressed with all of you and how well you identify waterfowl so quickly at a distance or in flight. I know it comes with experience but it would be awesome if someone made a video of clips of there hunts and do a voice over describing what your seeing to identify birds.

Good bag limit . The 20 Ga. Barrell looks to be short maybe a 22 inch .

Respectfully, is nice to see you have graduated from just shooting ducks to picking out the drakes and how happy you seem to be with the success of it! The amount of ducks that will potentially be in next years flight will increase dramatically. While legal to shoot hens and having accidents happen, shooting for just the drakes is not only beneficial to the flocks, it is beneficial to ones soul also. CONGRATS!

The main thing is work haha. I'd rather hunt mornings but I don't have that much vacation.

Do u run drake cans in ur puddle duck spreads alot? Even if no cans around? Been thinking of adding some cans to my spread just for visibility, hardly ever seen any where i hunt puddle ducks.
Depends where I hunt. If I'm hunting areas that I've seen them before, I'll run some. If not, I keep them put away. Same with my coots. But they do add a lot of visibility to the spread.

I really want a 20 gauge… jus to add it to my other guns lol and for my woman and daughter,,,,, what kind of shells you using??? Shot size etc, etc,,
These were Super X 3" 4 shot steel. Ive since made the switch to Boss for my 20ga however. A lot easier to bring down geese with it now.
At 8:15 is a reason why you always bring your gun into the water with you when your going to get your downed duck.

Great hunt lots of big ducks shot. What is ur overall opinion of the lethality of the 20 gauge over the 12? I shot a 20 pump Winchester when I was a youth which I still have but havent shot since I went to the 12 for hunting at least. I was debating on getting a semi auto 20 but love my 12 gauges. Would u recommend the 20 gauge for goose hunting?
Thanks! It really depends how you hunt. Get em close and a .410 will do the trick. I've actually started hunting more with my 28 gauge, just for fun. The only thing is with the smaller gauges it might be worth looking at nontoxic shot other than steel. I've killed many geese with my 20 gauge. Just need a suitable choke and to get them into closer range.
