The reason why Mercury and Venus don't have moons is also because of the proximity to the sun, as they don't really have stable orbits for moons.

Mars barely has moons. It has a couple tiny rocks that aren't even round.A rocky planet having any moons, much less a big one, basically doesn't happen. Earth is a freak.
