Excellent update Simon. The 7th of Never is the only one of the early Chastain I miss in my collection. Leather is a killer vocalist. Do have most of the Nasty Savage releases, apart from Psycho Psycho, never heard that one. Nice to see that Turbo has found it's way to your collection, they have some really killer albums. Last Warrior is the only one I'm missing by them, when it comes to their first period. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
80’s Nasty Savage have been one of my favorite bands for almost 20 years. If you get a chance to grab their demo, go for it. Some good bootlegs are out there. There’s a killer version of XXX and Unchained Angel on it. Nasty Ronnie used to smash TV’s on stage and do wrestling moves. A real showman. They also had a bad run of luck with bass players in the 80’s with one guy leaving the band because of his dad, another guy injuring his hand and needing to quit, and yet another bass player had the worst luck of all, being killed in a car crash.
I have those Nast Savage reissues on coloured vinyls, very nice - remind me a bit of Atheist. Dyoxen is brilliant, still have the cd from years ago. I have that Talion on vinyl, managed to get it cheap and it was brand new ! Toxik I have the original Roadrunner cds
Some very good albums, brings me back in time to some stuff i have not listened to in many years. Both Chastain and Nasty Savage even some Toxic. I got that Dyoxen album on both CD and Vinyl, got them in the early ninties and still have them, it is what it is, some good stuff in there but well they needed to find their own style and work on their song structure, but i still enjoy parts of it. Keep on looking for more metal gems, goodluck on the hunt for metal and movies!
That’s a belter of a haul Simon… especially those ‘Nasty Savage’ records! I have the recent reissue of that ‘Toxik’ album… but you just can’t beat an OG copy can yer!🤘🏻
Ideal time for a cd = 35 minutes. Ken Mary was in TKO “ In Your Face “. Adam Bomb on guitar. My top 20 ever. Listen to “ Give Into The Night “ by them.
Hi Simon!!! awesome update/haul, you have added great OGs to the collection..... I must confess, i'm super late to the Chastain party (the band not Jessica, lol), i really need to listen to that album!! Nasty Savage, fun band another one i discover not so long ago thanks to the VC.... Dyoxen?? maybe not the best name for a band, it sounds like a painkiller, lol. Do you know the channel "Metal School"?? he did and episode on Turbo, if you want to learn more about them. Talion!!! another cool and super undearrated band. cheers and be well
Just found your channel a few days ago. Absolutely in love with your videos. I’ve got allot of content to catch up on! Keep up the great work. Thank you!
Awesome video buddy I totally agree with you I love 80s thrash and metal in general my favorite ones that you shown were toxic nasty Savage and Chastain I have one out of the two can't find the toxic would love to have those original pressings but I realized that if you have some patience you can get them for a reasonable price can't wait for part 2 and 3
Great scores Simon. Love those Chastain albums. Leathers voice is amazing....the female Dio. Leviathan is David Chastains own album label. Have never found any Nasty Savage to buy. Dyoxen I've never heard of before so I will have to check them out. 🤘 from Qld.
Nice haul mate. If im not sleeping I'm hunting down 80s thrash vinyl these days. Looking forward to the next videos. Toxik vocals - Mike Sanders Dyoxen vocals - Michael Sanders
Amazing haul man 🤘defo jealous of a couple here, Talion and Dyoxen🤘🤘I always say that you have to grab them when you see them (or you miss out to Simon 😂) Can’t wait to see what else you scored.
Fred Dreschigan (that name! ) from Nasty Savage had to quit bass playing for the band after he`d lost some fingers in a bar fight. At least that`s what they said back in the time. That`s quite metal , too , hihi.
Gave it a rest as I was getting complaints about it after a few years of using it. Its purpose was to drown out the hissing sound of my old camera. With the new camera and external microphone it's not strictly necessary. Plus with the audio clips in this one I didn't want to drown everyone out with song lol
Great overview of some lesser known gems. Don't look too hard or spend too much on the Impelliteri album "Stand in LIne" 1988 with Graham Bonnet on vocals. It is pedantic and uninspired compared to the far superior 4-track EP from the year before with Rob Rock doing the duties. The album sounds like a plodding cross between Foreigner and Whitesnake, more like late 70's hard rock than the typical mid-80s sound of "The EP" - which is the name it is known by. They are really two different bands - even Chis' Imps guitar style is different
I need to cross-reference the list in the appendix of the book to see what I don't have, but I do have most of the notables. Not doing a The Asylum list as I can't keep up with them lol, plus we don't seem to get many on DVD out here anymore. I did an older video of my Syfy/The Asylum collection so you can check that out.
44:24 "I don't worry about, you know, climate control in here, it's fine that doesn't get too hott, it's all good nothing's going to melt.". What do you mean by that? That in tubs it won't melt but elsewhere like in a shelf it would?
Nah nothing in here will melt. I had some concern on Instagram about the records in this room given its a garage and not properly insulated, but even in the hottest 43 degree summer days we have enough outside shade to keep the heat off directly touching this room. It can get pretty warm but not "records left in a hot car" warm. If it were an unusually hot day, I can easily move four tubs to the cooler lounge room if I needed
@@ExplosiveAction Yeah! Unless someone leaves a record in a car on a hot day or the sun shines directly through a window on a record, I don't see why a record would melt. Perhaps also if a disc is left near a radiator or a wood stove but this is all negligence.
Yeah exactly. I don't think I'm at risk, despite this room not being fully insulated. It's still four concrete rendered, brick walls with no direct sunlight. I've touch-tested some records on those hot days and they aren't at risk.

You need this Chastain! Killer stuff. And yeah loving the Turbo!

Geez that's a rough run with bassists. Sounds like an amazing stage presence though!
1st Album titled Nasty Savage, was great 👍
Awesome OG 80s Metal Video just got done listening to Scattered Remnants Procreating Mass Carnage 1994 cd
Nice one! Love picking up this stuff.

Cheers for watching man, two more parts to go!

Reissue thrash just doesn't feel right to me! Like, at all! I can't do it and will just go without until I find an OG lol
Ideal time for a cd = 35 minutes.
Ken Mary was in TKO “ In Your Face “. Adam Bomb on guitar. My top 20 ever.
Listen to “ Give Into The Night “ by them.
Talion - singer sounds like Paul DiAnno ! Great stuff !
100% about a 35 minute length album! Perfect!

Just found your channel a few days ago. Absolutely in love with your videos. I’ve got allot of content to catch up on! Keep up the great work. Thank you!
You legend! Thanks so much for commenting and watching!
Just got that self titled Nasty Savage
Killer band!
Awesome video buddy I totally agree with you I love 80s thrash and metal in general my favorite ones that you shown were toxic nasty Savage and Chastain I have one out of the two can't find the toxic would love to have those original pressings but I realized that if you have some patience you can get them for a reasonable price can't wait for part 2 and 3
Thanks mate! Yes records like the Toxik were definitely a "wait and it will come" situation for me.
Some kwality cover art going on! Pretty sure the Talion label Major Records was a Peaceville sublabel
Ooh that's a neat bit of information
@@ExplosiveAction looks like they put out a whole 2 albums so I'm thinking it didn't go too well

Welcome another Aussie! Ah that's good info about Leviathan.
Nice haul mate. If im not sleeping I'm hunting down 80s thrash vinyl these days.
Looking forward to the next videos.
Toxik vocals - Mike Sanders
Dyoxen vocals - Michael Sanders
HAH! I didn't realise the names were so similar. They aren't the same guy I guess?!
@@ExplosiveAction No apparently not. Different singer on second Toxik too but still good.
I really like that first Nasty Savage album! I might have to check out the others sometime.
They are a little different but you should like them!
I have the Abstract Reality. I'm not sure if all were pressed on translucent black vinyl like mine. Check yours if you see light thru it. \m/
Interesting! No I just held mine up to the light and it's quite opaque.
Amazing haul man 🤘defo jealous of a couple here, Talion and Dyoxen🤘🤘I always say that you have to grab them when you see them (or you miss out to Simon 😂)
Can’t wait to see what else you scored.
Cheers mate! Yeah there's definitely some bangers here and you know where I got most of them. Like you say, gotta jump when you can!
Agree with you on Chastain. the 3rd and 4th are the best ones.
So good!
Fred Dreschigan (that name! ) from Nasty Savage had to quit bass playing for the band after he`d lost some fingers in a bar fight. At least that`s what they said back in the time. That`s quite metal , too , hihi.
Yep now that is completely metal!
Sick like and share the video everyone
Hey Simon what happened to your classic background track?
Gave it a rest as I was getting complaints about it after a few years of using it. Its purpose was to drown out the hissing sound of my old camera. With the new camera and external microphone it's not strictly necessary. Plus with the audio clips in this one I didn't want to drown everyone out with song lol
Dyoxen,Turbo,Talion, are my jams oh Talion has been reissued by Cult metal classic with Trogan.
Thought you'd like this update, and plenty more to come!
@@ExplosiveAction i will check out Dyoxen next time and cool oh plz no FFDP🤣🤣

Good to know, thanks! Foreigner and Whitesnake sounds like a poisonous mix to me.
Stand in Line - not good. Bonnet - not good.
No wonder Metal began bombing in the 90s.
Great video spot on. Gotta ask is that the Metallica live shit binge and purge in the background. Saw they had a 4 album bootleg someone made.
Huh, not sure what you are seeing, I don't own the Live Shit box anymore!
@@ExplosiveAction hilarious!! That comment was for another CZcams channel. Anyway awesome video as always Simon. Love that Chastain album.
Haha! That explains it!
Just randomly thinked of Syfy
Any movies that you missed or movies that i don’t if they are or not?
Also where is The Asylum dvd list?

@@ExplosiveAction I didn’t get keep up them
Also it on Kindle
Wouldn't that be great if cliff Burton did a solo album and left Metallica after puppets!
That could have been something!
Nasty Savage is first power- thrash metal in USA , answer to big Celtic Frost in Europe / 1985 / ! 🏴☠🏴☠🏴☠
Great band!
"Nasty" Savage - is there any other kind of savage?
I wonder if there could be Nice Savage?
Randy Savage.
Aka "Nasty Sausage"
Oh I'm keeping that!
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Cool mom
She's the best! I got a Lizzy Borden LP from her collection as well.
