I used to be Facebook friends with Dave Hebler but then he changed his settings so I could just follow his page... or maybe he had to drop some friends as it was getting too hard to manage, not sure, but I did get to ask a few questions back in the day. Plus apparently Dave shares the same political views as myself so that was cool to see. Seems like a good guy.

I’ve been upset lately I’m not speaking to my sister and I found out she’s going to Graceland when her and I were speaking she knew I’m a Elvis fan and we even spoken about Elvis on multiple occasions and saw the Elvis movie together and everything and to hear she’s going to Graceland and even if we were talking I know she wouldn’t ask me to go with her. It’s heartbreaking to me bc I have a dream to wanting to go to Graceland one of these days I just hope I can make it happen. Any information you post I take it in stride and just love. So happy I came across your channel 😊

Wow! I always wondered what happened to Dave Hebler. This was fantastic. Besides Jerry Schilling, Dave is one of the last remaining from the inner circle.
Yes, we all know that Dave co-wrote the "Elvis, what happened?" book in 77 with Sonny and Red West. Those guys were fired unceremoniously and were upset about it, they thought they were family at that point. But after 45 years people need to give a little grace. You can debate about how much of a betrayal it was all day long, that will never bring back Elvis. We should be able to forgive these men. Two of them are no longer here.
I agree and one big detail that is alway left out of their part of the story is the fact that they tried to set up a rehab in Spring 1976 and were fired soon after..
Wasn't the first story published about elvis being intoxicated, his Vegas stage rant is proof of that. Elvis was more worried About the press getting ahold of the book. Released over 2 weeks before he sadly passed. The news didn't really run with it and sales were down. I was 10yrs old Aug 16 and the book wasn't allowed in my mothers house! 😂 no real fans cared or thought is was true, It had pretty much blowed over till 8/16/77 then I guess people wanted answers.

@@SpaGuy Mr. Spa Guy. I bought and read the book the day it was put out. I did not get the impression that Red, Sonny and Dave were trying to hurt Elvis. It was a shock to read some of the stories, but I believe they wanted to help Elvis! My stance on the three of them
Has really softened over the years. Red and Sonny are now dead. Dave is getting up in years. He did not back in the 70s and still today, I see no hatred toward Elvis from Dave. By the way. Dave’s book is a very worthy read. No animosity in it toward Elvis.

Not to be judgemental but three of Elvis's inner circle betrayed him and really hurt Elvis. Dave Hebler, Red and Sonny West. I'm sorry but I don't think that they wrote the book 'Elvis What Happened' to wake Elvis up and help him as they said so many times. I think it was for the money that they knew the book would supply them with cause they all knew that Elvis fans would buy it. The book just put more worry and stress on Elvis on top of everything else. Elvis loved his fans and worried about what they would think of him. All three men knew that. Still I like the stories about Elvis and appreciate hearing anything about Elvis. Thank You Spa Guy for keeping Elvis's memory alive.

I completely disagree first.. So you want Elvis history just not all of it?? These 3 guys tried to Elvis in rehab and they were fired for it.. so at least get the history correct.. By the way have you read the book?? I doubt it.. If you did you would know what they wrote was true and accurate and really not that bad.. I have posted thing here with Billy Smith and Lamar Fike here and you never said that about them and they both write way worse things than these guys.. Learn the truth then comment.. by the way If I start leaving people out of the story it is not longer a true story..

Dave had some great stories and Elvis gave him two cars. So sorry he co wrote the book Elvis what happened, that caused so many stress to Elvis, it was a stab in the back Elvis told Joe Esposito. The firing though should never have happened.
You need to read the book.. It was nothing.. The Stuff Billy Smith wrote was way worse.. Especially from family..

I am certain I'd be just like Elvis buying & giving if I were rich! That's a capricorn's heart. I'm not rich with material things or money, but I did win $500 a few weeks back & the girl at my work had a tie rod break on her car so I paid to have it fixed........now my husband yelled at me told me I was crazy lol.....but I told him I remember what it was like to not have a car & try to get to work. That money wasn't mine luck brought it to me so I wanted to spread a little luck & surprise her with money to fix her car.

Most drug addicts have to get to the bottom before they will get help that is a fact.. Elvis' problems was people did not love him enough to tell him NO.. It kills everyone who lives that way Ask Michael Jackson and Prince.. they all got rid of the people around them who cared and they all died..

Dave wasn’t with Elvis but around 4 years. Elvis was already out of movies. Sonny and red were with him much longer. Red was with Elvis before he got famous.
