It's so great seeing the sumeru husbands playing cards together. Their friendship and dynamics are so entertaining to watch.
Probably what made me like Sumeru archon quest the most so far, most characters interact with each other and actually get along.

This character demo is the first demo I’ve seen that has so much personality in it. This truly felt like I was watching a cutscene from the game itself.

Hu Taos and yelans had a lot of character too, but this definitely exceeded my expectations! Maybe one of my favorites just based on how connected the characters feel!
There are demos that have colorful charm too (hu tao,yoimiya…) but this one definitely feels the most _alive_ cuz other characters are heavily involved aswell, it’s refreshing to see a cutscene of just the characters simply interacting with each other outside of a quest

for the same reason I think playable characters should have daily routines as npc in the open world. Kokomi giving orders to her troupes at Sangonomiya Shrine the day and relaxing in her cave the night, Xiao fighting some monsters the day and sitting some nights on top of Wangshu Inn etc.... things like that could be so nice

It's a spectacular character development device when we are looking at a character through others' thoughts about them. It gives more depth, we instantly know, who is that person to others, who he has close relationship with, what they think about him.

The way Genshin displayed Sumeru characters is so cool
They all have personality, some bond with other characters and also just genuinely funny whenever we see them
Huge step up from liyue and the mistake that was inazuma, unlike Inazuma, characters, exploration mechanics, and the story especially all had proper presentation to get you understand/care for it.
Inazuma had better exploration puzzles than sumaru overall but there was no proper introduction for them, and a paragraph doesnt count, so they felt overwhelming.
I bet it took people a youtube video to understand you could place relay stones while gliding.

Alhaitham's banner is sadly about to end soon but I can't stop watching this! Honestly this is the best character demo I've seen so far. Huge props to the voice actors Nazeeh Tarsha (Alhaitham), Alejandro Saab (Cyno), Elliot Gindi (Tighnari) and whoever is voicing Kaveh for delivering such fun, amazing and believable performances for these 4 good boys and I hope to see more scenes of them interacting again in the future.
EDIT: I take back what I said about Elliot before. Seriously, f**k that guy!
EDIT2: Kaveh's VA has been revealed to be Ben Balmaceda. Can't wait to hear more of him in 3.6!

The character interaction and them talking about him adds to his character arguably much more than it being just him by himself, and it’s so refreshing to see some of the characters interacting and feeling THIS REAL (and it also helps develop the other characters’ personalities as well, so win win right?) we need more character interaction like this!

I REALLY love the direction on this one, the way the it’s organized is unique compared to other demos. The way the conversation is interspersed between the action, the more “abstract” imagery showing Alhaitham’s inner mind, heck even the addition of all that interaction from other members of the Sumeru cast is so refreshing and superbly done.
I love the movement and momentum, the camera follows the energy and flow of conversation. such an enjoyable watch

The surprise I felt when I clicked on this and IMMEDIATELY recognized Kaveh's voice! I love how this demo doesn't just demonstrate the character's abilities, but it also shows how these characters interact with one another! It makes them all seem much more "human" in a way.

Fun fact, the mirrors in this scene are a reference to Ibn al-Haytham, the middle eastern scholar he was based off of who studied mirrors and is known as the father of modern optics. That’s why his kit also revolves around mirrors. Ibn al-Haytham also faked insanity to avoid punishment, so it’s really neat to see all these references, and it’s sad to think that this detail will go unnoticed by many people. Props to whoever came up with the mirror imagery, it’s a really cool reference. I also love the 80s vibe music and the inclusion of Kaveh, Tighnari and Cyno in the demo.

It's so nice to see playable characters interacting with each other without traveller around. Their conversation around the table really felt natural, just a group of people that are not quite friends but have known each other for a while

Casual conversations like these between the characters are the reason I want the Genshin anime to be some kind of slice of life. I'd pay to see 24 episodes just of the characters talking to each other about anything

There were trailers showing a little cameo (like Klee in Albedo's or Amber in Eula's) but it was small and almost unnoticeable. This one, however, is carried by characters we all actually like and want to see. Not some NPCs
Lol, this is exactly what my sister wants too. She says the Npcs take roles that could be given to playable characters instead of resorting to the hangout events to flesh out 4 star characters.

Another character demo as of 29/01/24 (Xianyun) another demo that hasn't surpassed this Goated Alhaitham one.
Not only is seeing Kaveh, Cyno and Tighnari in Alhaitham's Demo very unique, it also suits his character. Alhaitham doesn't talk much about himself so the other characters are pretty much doing it for him indirectly, until he actually joins them at the table.

That makes it even better when you put it this way!!! I love the transitions, between them talking about him and alhaitham talking about himself. Honestly i love the take on this demo
apart from Alhaitham being smooth as hell the whole demo, I also love the little details during their conversation; Tighnari's ears flickering a couple of times, Cyno sulking when Kaveh asks if Alhaitham is stronger than him and alhaitham's facial expressions towards Kaveh when he joins them at the table. It all makes them feel so real

They all look alive in this trailer! I'm so happy, these animations are amazing, all the details are worked out. Their interactions, jokes on each other, are worth a lot!! We will be waiting for more of these close relationships between the characters, because it really confirms that they are friends :) It's sooo cute, lmao
this is by far one of my favorites , its so casual , sure we've had characters just sleeping and or going about life but this is just a night out with the boys , but most of all this feels truly alive for a demo,, it doesnt isolate only within 1 or 2 characters , and they say more than just a bit of dialogue its literally a whole conversation!!!

Of course it was motion capture. Even the hilichurls use motion capture. Almost all AAA video games use motion capture these days.
