    I think the guy that designed these crash bars was probably high! Trying to get a torque wrench in that space was almost impossible. I tightened it by hand with a small wrench, and by the time I figured out how to get my torque wrench in that little space, it was already over-torqued. Their torque table also leaves a lot to desire. I hope the quality of the bars itself is better than their design and installation guides. Thanks for the videos! I did both the crash bars and the USB charger at the same time using your videos.

    Thanks a couple dozen times for the installation videos Orb. Difficult anyway. Much easier with full instruction videos. I'm doing everything you've done to yours plus lower crash bars and power to the inside of a pannier. Larger Acerbis tank. Wouldn't have liked it without you!!!

    I really appreciate you doing the videos man. I’ve had my T7 since last April and as winter is ending I’m going to add protection/lights and center stand to it and I think I’m just going to use all Yamaha parts.

      Mr. Sven and Mr. orbsurfer are my go-to choice for insights and upgrade tutorials on the T7 .

    Hey thank you for your nice Video. Yesterday i installed my upper crashbar from touratech. I have to tell you that you dont need the spacers on the bolts under the headlight.
    I couldnt believe that you have to bend something. So i contacted Them an they Said this to me.

    Hello, very good video!! I'm thinking about to buy this crash bars but I'd like to know if they are compatible with high fender kit from camel adv.
    Could you help me with this??
    Thanks!!!!

      According to Camel ADV's website, the fender is fastened to the bottom of the lower triple clamp with a custom aluminum bracket; i.e. the top of the fender is just below the triple clamp.
      If you draw a line horizontally out from the front part of the bottom of the triple clamp, the distance from the bottom of the Touratech crash bars to that line is 7/8" - 20 mm; i.e. there should be clearance between the bottom of the crash bars and the top of the fender, but it depends on what fender you end up with and how tall the fender is.

    Great video! Have you considered the lower Touratech crash bars as well and do you know if they are compatible with the OEM upgraded skid plate?

      No, I have not, and do not know if the lower crash bars are compatible with the upgraded Yamaha skid plate.

    I am just curious, why did you choose Touratech ? and what is your opinion on the Yamaha protection bars?.

    • @orbsurfer8195
      @orbsurfer8195  Před 3 lety +8

      I did not like the lines of the original Yamaha bars, the Yamaha bars cover up the Ténéré 700 logo on the side panels. Also the Touratech bars have the cleanest lines.

      @@orbsurfer8195 do they seem any different purely in terms of protection? Or is it mostly an esthetic upgrade for you?
