The steamed things weren’t “dim sum”. They’re “dim sims”. Dim sims are a Chinese inspired snack created in Melbourne by a Chinese immigrant. It’s mostly minced meat and cabbage in a dumpling wrapping.
The bottom of the caramel slice is likely a coconut biscuit base, made from butter, flour, sugar and coconut.

Central Market is the spot. Not only are there amazing places to eat, but butchers like the meat market or Something Wild that have awesome stuff.
We still think about the food often!! All of it was so delicious it was hard to pick which foods to eat!

You just bought a chicken pie from a great Italian restaurant.. Lucia’s is an amazing place to eat but you missed out on actually getting a traditional Aussie pie that ain’t it
