What I love about MCR is that they do not promote self destruction as like most of the hardcore metal bands does (I am not criticizing them, in fact I'm a fan of metal), and even if they do associate death with their lyrics, it would be something so hilarious!

MCR, as I'm sure you know, is commonly called punk by people who don't know, and they're also commonly mistaken for metal. However, for fans of MCR, the distinction is clear. Mainly, it's the lyrics, but sadly, many people don't pay attention to those anymore.
agh, it feels so different knowing most mcr fans nowadays just discovered them within the past year. they don't know how it felt finding out one of the most important bands of your childhood just - ended like that.. i'm not saying there's anything wrong with the fact that some people recently discovered them, but it just feels like they were spared some pain..
I was a fan for 8 months before they broke up and when I discovered them, I was going through lot and this band helped me through it. Yeah, the people who joined the MCRMY were spared some pain, but now they have to live with the thought that they have absolutely no chance of seeing this band in concert or waiting for new music.

I'm a recent MCR fan. I started in the Danger Days era and progressively went back as far as what I was really into, buying records and merch all the way. I got all the way to bullets, even listening to the attic demos. What I totally forgot about was the conventional weapons series. When I realized I had missed I sort of forced myself to listen to it, thinking it was going to be even more poppy than Danger Days. Turns out I was wrong, this is some some awesome shit.
