- If a bowling match ends in a tie, how do you determine the winner? By a roll-off! In this video we look at the longest ever sudden death roll-off in PBA history.
Both players kept striking and this particular roll-off went on and on and on. Find out exactly what happened in this video.

This was cool to follow live. I also remember being on a long one in PBA league with Mike Scroggings on those survival roll offs. Can’t remember exact total shot count at end, but I believe it was above 10. PBA league in ThunderBowl Arena around 2011 or 2012 or so
The GOAT is here 🗣️💯
Hi Osku, I haven't seen that before. Sounds like a great match, I'll see if I can find the telecast. If I can I'll probably do a video about it :)
A roll off in the 2009 King of the Lanes went pretty far too, between Bill O'Neill and Walter Ray. Even though it was a non-title event, it is still a considerably long roll off
Love watching BOTH of these great bowlers! I've met Josh a few times & he's very "down to Earth" at PBA functions. I never met Smallwood but i love his history that shows hard work does work!
This is the longest roll off but the most intense roll off what i can remember was Norm Duke vs David Traber in the 2002 cambridge credit classic that was for a title
6:34. This is what I tell my daughter about. Sometimes we get a lucky strike and we have to remember that it was a lucky strike and adjust even though we were rewarded on our bad shot.
Another awesome video. Thank you!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Makes more sense than the old 9th/10th frame roll off.
And I'm not a fan of 4-man TV shows
I liked it when the did the 9nth and 10nth frame roll off better than the one ball.
For the life of me I can’t figure out how Smallwood can be accurate throwing the ball like that
Smallwood? More like Driftwood... am I right?
Bowling is great because so many weird af styles can be competitive
He holds the ball like it's an American football. Converted running back?
I swear I’ve seen Blanchard in like 3 massive roll-offs 😂
It’s like the guy always ends up in huge roll-offs I’m not sure why
Ark survival bowling
Could have been another game with that roll-off 🤣
Its kinda weird that tom smallwood uses his thumb for spares but not his strike shot. Normally when someone doesnt use their thumb they never use it
He uses his thumb but the hole is offset to the side a bit and he only puts the thumb in to the first knuckle... I used to bowl against him in leagues back in the day
You never want it to get to sudden death. Then it's anyone's match.
Brian Ziesig vs Jason Belmonte. Best most intense match and roll off in PBA history
Back when the bowlers wanted to dress like PGA players
