Already bought the PolarPro Basecamp with 2-5 and 6-9 stops (this one was for free when bought from their website) and I think this is a very solid competitor. But I'm gonna buy Sony 200-600mm so 95mm adapter is a defining factor between the two. 1-8 stops with hard stops is much better as sometimes I have to switch between both filters during bright sun. Still happy to see this and would expect more competition as PolarPro Basecamp made so much buzz and deservedly so.
Great to use for example on RF lenses! The Conon EF to RF adapter with built in ND filter is great, but does not support RF lenses on RF mount cameras.
I like tilta product but this matte box is not new. Polar Pro basecamp did it over a year ago or two already. This product looks exactly like Basecamp matte box.
@@tayzar44 I wanted basecamp for a year and still saving, however after this product im changing my mind, unless polar pro get to around 700 or wait for smallrig to release a much cheaper and better version than this
@@tayzar44 I mean it is kind of new. Polar pro isn't doing wireless control, they don't have a 1-9 stop variable without have to switch out filters, and on top of that you can't use variable nd on polarpro without also using the circular polarizer as well. On top of all that, you can get tilta's package with the variable for $370 as opposed to polar pro's $700 package. I have the basecamp and am gonna get this and compare.
Excellent matte box. The Tilta MB-12 is excellent but bigger and heavy. The Tilta Mini is too small. This is great with the Vaxis 95mm IRND filters. And still can use my 4x5.6 filters.
For some reason, I thought Tilta & Tiffen & Steadicam were all owned by DJI. Does the filter seat close enough to the lens to prevent extra lens reflection? (Some of the clamp-on matte boxes hv noticeable reflection). Anyway, thank you! And hope to see you at conventions soon! (I’m going to Cinegear; my first in 2 years :) CineD is always the best, thank you!
I like this direction! Would this fit on a Sony 200-600mm lens? I currently have a 95mm filter spacer (extension) that accepts a 95mm filter, but lifts it away from the lens by about 4mm. Would this matte box connect to this spacer? Or is there another way to connect this matte box to that particular lens?
I have PolarPro Basecamp matte box and it fits up to 95mm filter thread and up to 114mm lens diameter cine lenses. Fitting the Sony 200-600 was a must. Check it out.
Doesnt clamping a mattebox with filters add even more weight to the lens mount and considering the lever effect in engineering wouldnt it add significantly more force? Seems like a bad idea but i also dont own a matte box
Lens mounts on most cameras are much sturdier than you'd think. Ask any wedding photographer who runs around all day with a 70-200 2.8 lens. Cinema cameras with a locking mount like PL are a whole another story, those can handle even giant cine lenses with no issues whatsoever. Adding a carbon mattebox that is a few hundred grams doesn't change this equation almost at all.

Hey guys, I don't suppose the VND unit will fit into other manufacturers matte boxes tray slots, surely it's possible ?

Excited. Can’t wait to get my matte box
Impressed. Looks like a great product
Tilta products always are great. I wish see more about the creative filters and how work with the nucleos nano.
Honestly if they made it a 114mm mattebox at least might have been more sold. This still feels like a mattebox made more for photo lenses
They already have MB-T12
They do make a standard cinema mattebox with multiple clamp on sizes.

95mm filters are really expensive for an affordable mattebox. I would have loved to see a version with 82mm filters.
Wow! Tilta just keeps on going... never expected that a Chinese accessory brand would be leading the innovation.

Can this work with the xeen lens?
Does the VND also handle IR pollution?
This is the way
Video says it's available but B&H shows it in pre order (?)
whoaw a jump of 250 juste for the VND part

I really really want this

Does it have side wings as an option ?
I like this direction!

Please release a lidar for the nucleus nano.
circle filter < square filter
Does it fit the 28-135G PZ, please. If so I would buy it.
Would it work on the FE200-600mm G lens with 15mm rods?
Hopefully the DJI ronin motor work on it..

in zeiss cp3 lens ??
Can I use the VND module with my circular mist filter? Thanks J.
If its 95mm then yes
Would pick it up if it was 114mm!
Epic!
Simple and very informative💯great job #roziill

With out a proper top flag option and side flags, call it what it is, a filter holder
this tilta guy, what is going on with his voice? looses power at every sentence. lol
Anyone want to buy my polar pro matte box system? Hahaha.
