- La marcha real ("The Royal March") is the national anthem of Spain. It is one of the few national anthems in the world to have no official lyrics.
The origins of the anthem, one of the oldest in the world, are unknown. The melody was first printed in a document dated 1761 and entitled Libro de Ordenanza de los toques militares de la Infantería Española (The Spanish Infantry's Book of Military Bugle Calls), by Manuel de Espinosa. Here it is entitled La Marcha Granadera ("March of the Grenadiers"), though no composer's name is given.
In 1770, King Carlos III declared the Marcha Granadera to be the official "Honour March", thereby according it a place at public and ceremonial events. Because it was always played at public events attended by the royal family, Spaniards soon came to regard the Marcha Granadera as their national anthem and called it the Marcha Real, or "Royal March".
Under the Second Spanish Republic (19311939), El Himno de Riego replaced La Marcha Real as the national anthem of Spain. At the conclusion of the Civil War, however, dictator Francisco Franco restored La Marcha Real as the country's national anthem, under its old title of La Marcha Granadera.

Jose Cee Mexico wanted Americans to come to Texas, so they open their border there. However after oppressive policies were placed upon them they rebelled and gained independence and remained an independent country until they decided to join the US 10 years later. This pissed off Mexico who then declared war on the US, creating the Mexican-American War. After the war ended with an American victory, Mexico had to be punished, how were they punished? By having a lot of their land annexed. It had nothing to do with an American conspiracy to conquer Mexico.
and why instead of jumping over the border you don't stay here in Mexico? that number of men and women along with some decent education would really help to change the situation the country is in. I meant on a general and historical viewpoint. Spanish was banned and discouraged, and many people still yell "Speak English" too when they hear others speak Spanish. I'm speaking from a national level, not individualistic one.

If you like great melody, but the lyrics are from the period of the dictatorship of Francisco Franco. I guess it's a mistake.
It was the music that drew me in. I also want to thank you for pointing that out to me...I didn't even know it was about dictatorship. But, I'm deeply against it.
J. M. G. They aren't from Franco's dictatorship in fact. Those lyrics were invented in 1928 (years before the dictatorship) but as Franco used them, many people think that. You should have a look at Spanish History before writting stupid things.

Pense que España era solamente la madre patria de los Hispanoamericanos, la region de America Latina de Mexico hasta Argentina; puesto a que todos esos paises tienen su mayor cultura, idioma, y genetica de España.
