BALLZ 2 DA WALLZ -.Hey John and team. So what happens now? Johnny Depp lost his first court case pretty badly. He won the second
one, but Heard won part of her countercase too. I know you only like talking about this stuff when it affects the movies we see, so how is this
going to impact the movies we will or won’t see Depp or Heard starring in moving forward?

JD is not the winner bc of the amount of money. He is the winner bc he won all 3 of his counts. Which means the jury said her statements of being a DV victim were false and were made with malice. She also brought 3 counts of defamation against 3 statements that JD’s attorney made. She won the one that said she and her friends set up JD and trashed her penthouse and framed Jd for it. She lost the other 2 that said her DV claim was a hoax. Thus one can infer that the jury thought she lied about her DV

John is low key misrepresenting what the UK court said. It was a civil case, no judgement was rendered on whether or not he was guilty of actually beating Heard. What they ruled was that there was reasonable doubt over whether or not Heard’s statements were true and therefore they didn’t qualify as defamation.

There are a lot worse out there, believe me. For the most outrageous, I would recommend an article from the Guardian. I think looking at it as a scorecard approximates the takeaway of someone who hasn't paid attention to the trial at all and just sees headlines about the verdict.
But you are right: Johnny's defamation win was a slam dunk. Literally a verdict that the sexual abuse claims were a lie. There's a lot of curiosity about what the AH win on claim two was based on, though, since they ruled calling her allegations a hoax *wasn't* defamation. Give that some spin and it takes some of the shine off Johnny's win if you haven't been paying attention.

    • @etherspin
      @etherspin Před 2 lety +2

Walter Hamada used industry code that everyone on this show understands very well but Erin & Kris would know back to front. Amber has no "chemistry" not that the two lead actors lack it, just Amber, she is the one person in the film series they wanted to replace and still might for reasons completely seperate to public relations, Hamada was awkwardly forced to admit the first film only worked because they worked the magic of "editing" over her takes and then tried to dissuade her from returning by giving her low pay for the sequel and short notice before filming.
The crew here are not convincing me of their bona fides by missing the trees for the forest there but luckily I've loved the show for years and know they know these things, so I assume, like with the Will Smith slap where the initial social media of the panellists changed markedly from what was said on the show, politics are coming into this when this case specifically was about credibility but people are assigning assumed credibility based on gender not evidence

okay.. did I just hear someone call Heard's abuse and dv against Johnny (chopped off finger) referred to as 'shenanigans'... I am going to assume I miss-heard. 1. The UK trial is a non-factor. It was wether a newspaper at the time had the right to print that based of the info they got. The trial heavily or rather solely relied on Amber being a believable witness... so the judge, not a jury, decided yes the Sun had been entitled to print that. Only it now has been revealed that while the Sun may or may not have had the right to print based of Amber's lies... everything she said was indeed a LIE 2. Amber is a middling actress. I liked her in drive angry, but literally forgot half her performances. And Yes, Meera could have been anyone else. 3. JD stated that he was not going back to Disney and his demeanour during Hamada's testimony suggests he is really hurt by WB actions/treatment (fire him , keep her). But I am sure he will be back as a lead faster than you can think. 4. Unless someone finds proof of juror impropriety, which I admit is a possibility given some social media activity, I do not see any grounds for an appeal.

John is positioning himself like it's forward thinking to acknowledge the long history of women being abused as we have been striving to do for the better part of 50 years now but to then laugh off the psychological and physical destruction of a man.
It's very off putting to say the least. As a guy who had legal run ins and narrowly escaped a woman like this with help from friends I saw John as a carefully thought out guy who was relatable and this makes me think if knew him IRL he'd give me a subtle shove under the bus if it's where he found me struggling.

I think, quite the opposite, provided that it doesn't take place in Virginia but California, and it doesn't get Livestreamed so the jury aren't pressured to conform to the public's desire. His PR team will have a considerably more difficult turn without videos taken out of context and all comments will be like screaming into dead space. His money and misogyny won't factor into any of it, he won't control the narrative, and then I'll be willing to accept that as a real win. Imo, his actions were borderline sociopathic during the proceedings, they were the actions of a man who couldn't care less about what was happening in the court, because whatever does, he will end up reframing it and controlling it. If he'd smacked her while she was on the stand, the internet would have found a way to make it seem like it's her fault, and that he was just a kind hearted innocent man who's *definitely not on drugs* doing the right thing.
I still can't believe he bought his verdict, it's convoluted but he still did! I want this done differently, I want it done where there's no freaking way he or any of his zombie army could control the narrative

UK case wasn’t legit and also dirty, everyone who has followed and done research knows this There was also some connection to the newspaper The Sun with the Judge involved and he was a very shady Judge. That’s who Johnny was sewing in the UK, the newspaper not Amber herself. Also, Amber didn’t win anything on Johnny in this case, she won against something one of his old attorneys said to the media a while back. Johnny won on all 3 counts of his case, Amber won 1 of 3. That’s a 5 to 1 victory for Johnny, that’s total vindication for him and a total loss for her. Tired of this getting spinned in the medias like this was somehow split!!

Women do have leeway in getting physical with men we don’t. Debatable how much if any that leeway should be. The abuse is overshadowed by her slander.

After winning this trial, Johnny stan-dom has hit an all time high. It would be foolish of Disney not to keep Johnny on in Pirates or whatever franchise. As was already stated in this thread, John, you're clueless about the crazy love for JD right now.

I'm surprised that John and the panel didn't mention that Walter Hamada testified [looking seriously pissed while doing so....] ,for Depp's side. He stated that AB had a diminished role in Aquaman 2 due to her lack of chemistry with Jason Momoa. She was instructed by WB NOT to even mention them during the trial. Also, one of her witnesses described key plot points and spoilers from Aquaman 2. If she does appeal, the timing of that may coincide with the film's release. This is not the same thing as Armie Hammer and Murder on the Nile where it's a major ensemble piece, so sticking someone in the background in the posters will work. No, she's Mera and will have to be front and center for the film's press tour. So now WB has to do some major crisis management with both Heard and Miller. Karma for not bringing back Henry Cavill......

AH-s most honest performance was in Zombieland when as a zombie she chased Jesse Eisenbergs character all over the house trying to eat him. That practically foreshadowed her entire relationship with Johnny.

issue is people keep talking about the last pirates of the Caribbean film and him being late and being injured (an injury heard apparently caused) delaying produ tion and pissing off Disney execs, he also went back on the substances but has anyone considered that all may have been as a result of the abuse we now know he was being subjected to by his wife?
