two FANTASTIC lines of Playmates toys that you missed: Exo Squad and Ronin Warriors. Both were and are amazing.

Speaking of toy lines you might not look at, have you seen any of the stuff playmobil has been putting out? Pretty amazing. The Enterprise is massive. They have great sets for Magnum P.I, A-team, Knight Rider, and back to the future, and everything scales and fits their system, my nephew loves to play with them all

The star trek line was fantastic for what it was. Especially discounted at Kay bee and toys R' us. Then completely gave up on the line. The terminator salvation had a few good pieces but lacking in so many ways, makes crappy marvel legends look like masterpieces.😂❤

in 2025, the Star Trek figure of Woopi might be worth something, since it will represent an actress that will lose her mind after the elections

Where's the rest of the last ronin wave.
We got 2 ronin figures from playmates a painted version and a black&white version.
Surely playmates will continue this line it's a great little figure

I have to check those TMNT street fighter figures... It looks like the details make them look like the last seasons of the original cartoon with a dark tone Mike. 😃☕️💡👍

I just wish Playmates would put in full effort when it comes to painting their classic TMNT figures. They are lazy and there doesn't seem to be a real plan about getting a lot of figures out at retail.

It's a really odd complaint that toys DO NOT sell out fast... I think you gotta get out of the mercenary collector mindset a little bit. My main complaint against Hasbro and McFarlane which are my two main companies right now is that distribution is terrible and if you miss out on a toy at retail you'll almost immediately have to pay twice as much or more to get the characters you missed.
I appreciate toy companies that actually make toys available for kids, instead of constantly catering to adult collectors who might spend $50 to get their hands on a $20 MSRP toy.

I was happy when playmates did the exo-squad/robotech crossover.
I was able to get all the different SDF robot mecha and the big vehicles that fit the figures. Crazy prices on ebay now. And honestly, no real difference between the original matchbox release and playmates 1994 re-issue.

lol I almost bought the retro TMNT van and the 4 retro brothers. Few years back. Instead, got Bebot and Rocksteady OG lol. And vintage FootCruser vehicle. I also got a used Shredder.

i got a box set of the vintage style tmnt, then the SOTO set and then….. i went vintage. i saw what Subpar 7 were doing with the ultimates tmnt line and i figured i’d just go vintage. I got the reissue party wagon because a vintage one is outrageously expensive and I am excited for the Technodrome for the same reason you are, vintage is crazy expensive. I just hope it is the exact same as the vintage and not a lame effort like the blimp

I ordered the TechnoDrone and then got the Playmates 4pk with Krang, Shredder, Beebop and Rocksteady to go along with it. Also ordered the 40th anniversary Voltron box set after looking everywhere at Target for the other four lions I needed.

their is a the story of the playmates fire that damaged/destroyed some of the tools they had and that is why some figures get reissued and others do not, I have googled this and have found no proof, so, take that for what it is worth

Star Trek and Star Wars are currently in battle as to which franchise can out do the other when it comes to being trash...I do love the Playmates Star Trek ships...they were dope...I also love the villains from MMPR....I had to get the Super 7 and Hasbro MMPR villains...they are so cheesy...it's delicious

i am the OPPOSITE of what you said at 16:50 because the PLAYMATES regular power rangers figures are WAY better than the Hasbro crap. May not be true for those 6" oversized and over priced figures, but i don't want those, i want 4.5" again!...i just realized that was BANDAI. .. .. hmm.. .. now i am unsure

I find the Playmate crew more creative in making toys that can be played and not just for display. Hasbro has lost that aspect as they make collectibles than actual toys.

Playmates are one of the best companies in the history of the hobby. Their lines are historically huge and deep in regard to character selection. They had tmnt in various lines, Star Trek, and The Simpsons being the big three. Hundreds and hundreds of figures.
Vintage MOTU were awesome then and more so now. That’s why Origins was so huge and the vintage line was one of most successful.
They keep rereleasing tmnt because they sell. People love them and they articulation was a non-issue. Almost every line was 5POA and no one cared. Retro style figures are huge now and have been since 2016 when Reaction started. Not everyone cares about articulation.
Why would Jada continue Playmates Street Fighter line. Those were weak and Jada’s are some of the best figs of modern times.
Those Voltron figs are easy to find. They practically warm shelves. Who cares if they sold out in 2017? That’s irrelevant. If Voltron doesnt sell then they arent going to get made. That’s why. It would cost anywhere from hundreds of thousands to a million+ depending on tooling costs of the lions to make the new ones. If the lions all use the same tool then it is more of a legit concern though.
If you got the entire Trek line for $70 then that’s insane. They didnt make the new ones different because its a retro line. The whole point is to mimic the original line.
Lightning collection of Power Rangers got canceled because they didnt sell. Its as simple as that. The plastic free packaging completely screwed Hasbro. The line was doing fine until then. A ton of collectors fell off when that change happened and it obviously hurt their bottom line given it lasted less than a year. Saving the environment my left arse cheek.

Funny cause I thought that Playmates might just recently be starting to cater for collectors eg like the OG Sketch turts. But even then they didn't get everything right.
