  • I thought that everyone who is snowed in might like to remember what sunny Bahia grass mowing was like in the heart of summer. Even Florida is pretty cold right now. This is a glimpse of what it will be like to mow in Spring.

    I have a couple of questions/comments. 1. If you have a "roll bar" on your machine, why don't you use it on a sloped surface? 2. I've watched a number of professional lawn care company videos....why don't you "string trim" before cutting the lawn - so the cuttings are chopped by the lawn mower? 3. Why do you cut most of the lawn so that you end up recutting cut grass (i.e. shooting the cutting "in" instead of "out". I realise that you may need to keep the cutting out of a garden or such)? Thanks.

    • @Something2LookAt
      @Something2LookAt  Před 3 lety +1

      Good questions. I don't use the rollbar because I've been on much much steeper slopes and the mower didn't flip. Having the rollbar up is also dangerous because it hits everything. I personally don't strim first because it totally doesn't matter in Florida. Everything biodegrades super fast here, a matter of days. And ha, you see me striping for the video but when I'm not filming I always just blow outward. It just makes a better video.

    I can't believe you don't catch the clippings !! Especially on a lawn that's got that much grass height. I'd be pissed. It's lazy. Anyone can sit or stand on a mower and cut...and don't say it mulches etc.. because that's horse shit. All grasses take ages to break down, and in the mean time it's killing the grass underneath. And you missed so much because your overlap was not good. Fair enough if the owner says ok, but stupid if they do. Looks ugly, like a half assed job, and when it goes brown, not a good look either.
