- I thought that everyone who is snowed in might like to remember what sunny Bahia grass mowing was like in the heart of summer. Even Florida is pretty cold right now. This is a glimpse of what it will be like to mow in Spring.

The sight of grass shooting from under that mower 👍 about 5 more weeks - can't wait
Yes! We're almost there!
That machine cuts well
Nice finish
such a satisfying sound in the middle of winter!!
It sure is. I'm lucky to live in Texas. I'm still mowing!
I ride the same model mower at work and I absolutely love putting on my straw hat and riding out
I miss mowing. Thank you for the videos and smiles.
You are welcome! Keep on smiling! :)
Such a relaxing channel.
Many thanks for this share good sir.
Glad to hear. Many people say they use my videos to get to sleep.
Something 2LookAt gives me Something 2Look Dream About :) January in Minnesota is not fun. Thanks for sharing!
Exactly why I posted it. Things will be nice and sunny and green again! :)
Great video like always brother 🙌
Thank you
Great job and hello from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 i like it you videos
Glad you like them, welcome!
Bahia is always something to look at 😉
I agree. When it's growing nice like this, it's a pleasure to mow.
good🙏👍💪
Damn I cant wait to mow some yards haha!
I like your video
Thanks!
Love love love very satisfying thats cool better to relax n watch wen comes to lockdown haha great job👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Parabéns pelo seu trabalho!!!!!!!!!!! Você é perfeito no que faz.........muito legal ....
Awesome 👏
Great Video Mike!! Keep up the great work!
Thank you
I love it when you speed up the mowing. Looks like a racing mower. LOL
my craftsman will do about 25mph+ trying to find a pulley to fit the 25hp engine i plan on installing
I like it too. :)
Wow!
Nice job.
Do you double cut? I also prefer to make the outline twice and I like how you never turn towards the house. Only takes 1 broken window to learn that 🤣👌
Lines in the yard are my favorite! I think it’s a sign of caring, not richness.
This was a perfect Sunday evening video!! I have about 10” of snow ❄️ on the ground. Tomorrow back to work but the green grass and sound of the mower is like a massage video😂🙋♀️. Thanks awesome
Awesome! That's why I posted this man. Glad you liked it. :)
Que máquinas es esa 🤦🏽♂️👌🏻💪🏼👏🏼

Cheetah never ever disappoints
So true. 11 years old now and still running the original spindles.
0:40 was so satisfying, I thought it was going to scalp the ground but didn't
Cant wait for summer to get back out there! Im still riding it to mulch up leaves because i cant stand not using it!
I remember all this from back in the summer. Fun to watch them again on a cold and dreary winter night. I can't recall who all I have told and who I haven't, so if I have already mentioned this, forgive me- I used to be ridin green on here, just a new name.
Exactly my intention, glad you like it. Also glad you identified yourself. What happened? Did John Deere sue you for using the word "green?" :)
@@Something2LookAt LOL, no, nothing like that. Just had some trouble with YT and their stupid algorithms. I have told a few people now about the change and some have told me they missed it the first time around and some have said they saw it but had forgot it so were glad for the reminder. I was using the other name for a looong time and they had gotten to know me that way and was wondering why I had left their channel. I haven't, they just haven't gotten used to the new name yet. :-)
Just picked up a new kubota zero turn in November. Got to cut my grass twice .... now I must wait 😭
Nice video. The lawns are so brown and dry right now in central florida from frost and lack of rain. Excited for summer!
Watch on repeat...
That great Dane is the coolest
Back again!! 😍😄🤗👋🏼
lol, I'm sorry, I did actually notice that you watched this one. I'm glad you saw it! I have to get over to my other channel and see what you've been up to! :)
Great editing 👌
Thanks 😅
How many hours do you have on that mower?
i think he has way over 1600 hours on it.
I just looked. 1656 hrs. About 1/2 the life of an engine.
@@Something2LookAt that's pretty good. I knew you had to have alot, you mow alot with that
@@Something2LookAt what’s your maintenance schedule like? Do you go down the road of cheapest oil and filter or full synthetic and higher quality filters? Do you change at fixed hourly intervals or when you think it’s due?
@@FishFind3000 I'm using the regular Kawasaki oil filters, and changing the oil "roughly" every 50 hours.
Nice!! The dane and the SCAG laying it down. What year model is the G.Dane? Keep up the good work man and be safe!💪👍.
It is the first type from 2001. I bought it new in 2001 and more recently did a full restoration on it on my channel.
@@Something2LookAt nice!💪💯👍
That scab doesn't cut them small but it sure does get them out. That is nice. I run a predator pro 52 31hp Kawi and I feel while it cuts whatever I want it to yours throws clipping more efficiently if that makes sense.
Sure, I understand what you're saying.
That is what I like. Good old straight grass cutting.
in the movie "The Big Lebowski", I now understand why the dude was laying on his rug listening to a bowling cassette tape
I have a couple of questions/comments. 1. If you have a "roll bar" on your machine, why don't you use it on a sloped surface? 2. I've watched a number of professional lawn care company videos....why don't you "string trim" before cutting the lawn - so the cuttings are chopped by the lawn mower? 3. Why do you cut most of the lawn so that you end up recutting cut grass (i.e. shooting the cutting "in" instead of "out". I realise that you may need to keep the cutting out of a garden or such)? Thanks.
Good questions. I don't use the rollbar because I've been on much much steeper slopes and the mower didn't flip. Having the rollbar up is also dangerous because it hits everything. I personally don't strim first because it totally doesn't matter in Florida. Everything biodegrades super fast here, a matter of days. And ha, you see me striping for the video but when I'm not filming I always just blow outward. It just makes a better video.
@@Something2LookAt Thanks.
I cant wait for march. in the UK we've been grounded until review february (probably longer) theres only so much content / tv / to do list you can do!
That's a bummer. What is review?
@@Something2LookAt Its when the government will review if the lockdown should stay in place or if covid rate of infection (RoI) is low enough for us to be un-grounded 😂
My personal opinion is that the UK government didnt act fast enough at the start. so im not hopeful that this 3rd lockdown will be lifted any time soon
@@kingarthur83rd Wow. It's not like that here. Even during a lockdown (we only had one), many people can still work if their job is considered an essential service. Mine was. But right now everyone is out, just wearing their masks. Man, I feel for you...
0:39 I thought you were able to scalp the mess out of that slope.
🐆🐆 cutz like 🧈.. I need to get one.. but worry about them fitting thru the gates
Yes! A very important thing to consider. Helps on the giant yards, but cuts you off on the backyards with a small gate.
Great video! Why is it that most of your lawns look really long is that usually what you do down in wherever you are? Not really used to that in New York 😂
You'd have to see it to believe it down here in Florida. This is just 1 weeks growth!!
Lowered the power for the flower beds.
Yes, exactly. I see a lot of guys that don't seem to realize that you can do that. :)
Were the grass clippings dropping into the drain ???
Nice job as always!
Are you really out mowing still or are these from the past summer? There isn’t a mowing season from about November thru February here in NW Florida panhandle
These clips are from summer. A nice reminder and a hope for Spring. We are still mowing but not Bahia grass. It has gone dormant. But the St Augustine still grows.
Question do you trim down the ditch after cutting, I've seen so many pro never trim that area and looks like hell....
Yes, of course.
What software do you use to edit timelapse to get this audio effect?
I am using Vegas Pro 16. My other editors make the sound go to a really high pitch but Vegas keeps it correct.
Why do you disgard the clippings on the area you have already cut?? Sure leaves a mess.... You work from the middle and blow out. Must like raking i guess
Things are very different here in Florida. The clippings biodegrade very fast here. You don't rake here, it all just disappears.
How often do you sharpen the blades? Do you run the mower “flat out”?
Usually about once a week. And oh no, I rarely run it at full throttle. Usually about 3/4.
I would rather mow grass than plow snow!
When you cut thick grass like that how often are you supposed to sharpen your blades?
There isn't a difference on the sharpening schedule with thick grass vs thin grass. I still sharpen about once a week.
Is the mower u stand on for relaxing your bum after sitting on scag cheetah or it can cut better in some tricky area?
Yes, it is good to be able to stand and mow sometimes, and that mower is a little smaller and helps in smaller yards.
So do all these Bahia yards grow from sod or that’s natural grass in Florida from seeds
They can sod or seed them, but it's not exactly the natural Florida grass. Good question though. I'm going to have to look into that more, the difference between sod farm bahia and natural bahia.
Can you give the link were you purchased your hat..
It was just the corner gas station.
Doteyou ever pick up any of the grass clippings
No, not here in Florida.
Why don't you stripe the yards?
Missing your yard videos
I do what I can. Another one coming on Thursday!
@@Something2LookAt I know mate really appreciate you in what you do
Hi, is that Florida?
Yep!
2:45
at the beginning of the vid I though that this was an old run down house, then that timestamp comes up
danng
lol, yea. I've got some million dollar houses for sure.
A point of view would be a nice video....
Oh, you know, every time I do an on board POV camera people give me a really hard time about how much they don't like it.
Why are you scalping these lawns? They looked better before you scalped them. Bahia is not meant to be cut that low, it's much healthier at 4-5 inches.
Oh I agree. I am at the mercy of the customer's preference. Which is never to cut it up high. It's not up to me.
I can't believe you don't catch the clippings !! Especially on a lawn that's got that much grass height. I'd be pissed. It's lazy. Anyone can sit or stand on a mower and cut...and don't say it mulches etc.. because that's horse shit. All grasses take ages to break down, and in the mean time it's killing the grass underneath. And you missed so much because your overlap was not good. Fair enough if the owner says ok, but stupid if they do. Looks ugly, like a half assed job, and when it goes brown, not a good look either.
We're in Florida. Yes it does compost that quickly here. Nobody catches the clippings. Nobody's mad at you if you don't either. Very different in Florida.
I was thinking the same thing lol. I myself always try to blow the clippings one way or catch them. Myself personally, thats just bugs the shit out of me. But thats just me. Everyone has their own method. But these videos drove me mad lol. Also messed with my OCD a little lol
Bahai is my enemy lol
Ha, I hear ya.
wth auto turning camera !
He he, it's an editor trick actually. You know that actual tracking camera setup is like$1000?!?

Lord man please learn to mow right my 6 year old knows not to throw grass in the road or on cars!
