Family of 12 ❤️ Easter prep for my 10 kids 🐣 (baskets and egg hunt)

- I'm not a fan of plastic or excess stuff but I want the kids to really enjoy their holidays. So I came to a compromise and decided to get a pack of 50 plastic eggs (5 eggs a piece) and I opted for all edible gifts. (So we don't have to store a bazillion toys 😀) My mm always made Easter so fun for the kids and so I wanted to continue her tradition even though we're not close enough to visit this year. Thanks for coming with me on my mom journey... I make so many mistakes I'm kind of embarrassed to post it lol. But maybe I''ll be Martha Stewart next year 😉.
I really like the color coded idea. It makes the egg hunt more cooperative and peaceful, plus it also takes longer and is more of an activity, not just a mad dash free for all.
These videos help your family stay close to all of you. You were lamenting how expensive it is to fly and visit. These have to be so nice for them to watch. Your Easter was nice! Cute treats.

Watching your Easter prep vs. Alisha dogurtys easter prep. You guys do it the right way. Not an obscene amount of candy and prizes. Fair chance for all the kids instead of competition. This is how it should be. My mom did this exact same thing for my family of 8. We were homeschooled also and everything was fair among the kids and we didn’t fight over Easter candy and everyone helped eachother. Your channel is so wholesome and it shows that you know what your doing because your kids are so well behaved and mature!

I also like it when easter stuff gets evenly divided, and my kids definitely appreciate getting a fair share. So what we do is that we gather everything the kinds have found on a big platter and then they get a plate of their own and we start dividing the entire loot evenly once everything has been found.
My church used to do easter egg hunts for kids before Covid, and it was always such a great time, because even though there were no restrictions, just about every family made sure that their older kids left enough stuff for the smaller kids to find. So in the end everyone had a satisfying amount and everyone was happy.

I just remembered my parents setting up an Easter egg hunt inside our house with chocolate eggs. It was the most fun thing ever. Months later, I would still uncover a chocolate egg hidden away in some corner of furniture.
Sounds fun every year my parents would have an Easter party and my annoying cousins would come and everyone would make me watch there kids and it was not fun at all

If you haven't already been, you need to visit Hershey's Chocolate World in Hershey, PA! They pipe the chocolate smell through the ride, and it is heavenly! The ride itself shows the process of how the chocolate is made!

Aww so fun. My sister used to hide them and then couldn’t find them. My grandpa would end up running over them when he mowed the yard. Your little ones are the perfect age to hunt eggs and the older ones are sweet enough to have fun helping the little ones. Happy Easter 🐣🐣

My boys are 23 and soon to be 20. Growing up if you asked them they would say they liked Easter more than Christmas because of the egg hunt. We live in a suburb of Kansas City, so you never really know what the weather is going to do. I always grew up with the egg hunt inside the house, so I did that with my boys. I stuffed over 100 eggs (we had accumulated so many through the years from other egg hunts) and my husband hid them all through out the house the night before after they had gone to bed. It was a lot of fun to watch them race to see who could find the most. The competition was fierce at times for sure. We did occasionally find that random egg or two later in the year which was a fun surprise. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter.

You did a great job with preparing for the egg hunt, Amber. I bet the kids loved it. Something to think about with a dog is that either you will have to walk it for potty time or else you'll need to scoop the poop if you let the dog use the back yard, because you have a small yard. I love my dog, but she does make traveling very difficult. Happy Easter to you and your family. 💜
Yes! I would love for the kids to have a dog but I don’t want to not think about all the struggles a dog can bring before we get it! I just want to be prepared ❤️

I love the thoughtfulness not a lot of waste or junk. Also pro mom and grandma tip- when little ones have to go to the dr take some of those dot stickers & let little one put them on the paper on exam table while waiting. Great distraction.

Wow this video is amazing!!! Really showed me how much your care for your kiddos 💗💗 makes me happy other moms do stuff like this . My mom still does Easter bunny even tho I’m 16 and the youngest is 10. It is fun for all of us (mostly her) to do little things like this.
Also- I know you wanted the biodegradable, but those plastic ones will last!! We re use the same ones every year( some get broken and lost etc), but if u save them they’ll last you!

I had a French bulldog, they are very expensive though and they sometimes have skin issues and breathing issues however, “ not sure if this is all French bulldogs” my French bulldog was very good to travel with. She was calm, never got car sickness or homesickness, and they are truly the perfect size.

A recommendation if you do stickers for some other holiday, you should write the first letter of the name in the stickers so then it's easier for both you and the kids (just make sure kids with same first letter get completely different colors: Noah Naomi, Elijah Enoch, Melody Moses)
Yes! I learned the hard way!😭 Enoch and Josiah’s color were almost the same! Thankfully Josiah didn’t really mind so if Enoch picked up an extra one it was ok.❤️
I bought those little Kinder figures for my children this year!
I don't do the portioning out beforehand. My kids know that there is one each of the big things (they always get a golden Lindt bunny) so to only take one even if they find more. Then there's enough of the smaller things that everyone finds something. The children then sit together and pool their finds and share them out evenly.

This is such a great set up for Easter with lots of kids, very impressive. I'm also in a place with 6 kids where I am waiting for stronger home security before committing to a pet, even though the kids are begging to get one every day. You mentioned how diligent with screen use you have to be with yourself - I think we can all relate to that, but that made me wonder about your screen rules for kids - especially through the pre-teen to older teen years. I am just getting into the teen years and am looking to those who have "been there done that" regarding phones/social media/online restrictions etc. Would love to see a video of your familie's path through growing up in this screen obsessed world. 😊
The screen thing is a constant effort. It’s just so east to get caught up in the screen! For my teens and preteens I use restrictions to take away internet and social media apps on devices. They can see those things on laptops. The one exception is Naomi. But I ask her to leave her phone downstairs. Josiah and Pearl are in college so they self regulate. Pearl has made her screen settings black and white so the phone is less exciting.

I’d honestly say that if you’re interested in getting a dog, a small mix is probably best, mixes tend not to have medical problems, also a dog under 23 pounds can fly in cabin on a plane, in a carrier. It does cost some money but it’s the same in cabin and in the storage. We brought my dog to Turkey with us when we were visiting family, and she was so good and slept the whole 10 hours there and back

My neighbor had the kids do their Easter egg hunt yesterday
For Easter we usually have each egg color taped to a board. Each color has different candy, each kid find one of each color for plastic eggs with candy. Than we do a book or card/game for each kid so not to much sugar. We also get the slightly larger eggs and put fruit in them and the kids love them

Maybe they’ll get one out in the suburbs like Liverpool or Clay one day. That’d be great. I love it just from watching you guys shop there! I order my groceries from Walmart. It’s easier on me than getting out and doing it. Wipes me out. But I would go to Trader Joe’s to shop if one was closer.

We have just three kids and each kid has their own color. I tried the sticker thing too, but I think it didn't work that well. 🙈 Of course with 10 it's much more difficult to find different color eggs for everybody. We reuse the plastic and cardboard eggs every year.

My parents have 11 children and what they did was each child had the same color egg. My Nana did it using baking cups she had a total of 28 grandchildren

Very new subscriber but this video had me cracking up. I was raised by a single father with help from my grandparents and I’ve got three siblings but the general family vibe is the same. And the comments about what the kids like as they get older being health food, even as a little kid my family kept an eye on me or I’d do stuff like eat an entire pound of carrots as a snack in one day. Zero desire in comparison for the junk food my brothers crammed in as snacks.

I’m allergic to penicillin and American Brie cheese will start sort of triggering the stomachache I’ll start getting before worse things and it tastes awful, but Brie imported from France? Totally fine and delicious.
Only 5kids in our extended family and they all get their own color egg other wise the older kids find all the eggs and the little gets none I did 24 eggs per kid this year but each is just 1 kiss or a few jelly beans so it isn't really a ton of candy
