Great video and an insight into a regular Russian family at New Year. I notice you celebrated at midnight Moscow time. Is that the normal time for the rest of Russia?
No no, there are 11 different time zones in Russia 😊 some people tune in live with Moscow to see the fireworks there and some people like to listen to Putin's wishes. But Putin's wishes are pré recorded and shown at 00.00 in each time zone 😁

It's always amazed me how a cold winter country eats cold salads during the cold months...I'd be eating stews and drinking soups and fresh baked bread to keep me warm and nourished
I know right, I find it fascinating myself haha! Probably it comes from the past, because it wasn't always easy to get food to cook for celebrations, so people invented those salads and they just stayed :)

Мы не белки, на все зимние месяцы не запасаемся салатами. :))) Это не повседневно, это вкусно и празднично! Вы нас прямо совсем голодающими и собирающими про запас еду описали :))) У нас всегда была еда та, которую мы хотели.
