I made a crochet basket for everyone on my list this year. You would not believe how many people want them! It was a good chance to use up a ton of yarn and get some crazy color combos. They go quick and are good for filling with cookies. I usually do most of my gift making after Christmas when I'm stuck inside from the cold. I will still have to make a few hanging ornaments as well this year. I've made some tiny sweater and mitten ornaments before!
I'm usually the one rushing to finish gift projects at the very last second possible!! LOL! Your tips couldn't have come at a better time. Thank you so much!!
THANK YOU MS. ELISE....I HAVE SOME PROJECTS THAT I PUT IN A SPECIAL BAG & EVERYDAY I TRAVEL WITH ME EVERYDAY ON THE TRAIN OR THE BUS. THANKS AGAIN & HAPPY CROCHETING. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great advice! This is the first year I started early, and it’s been a game changer! I be already finished gifts for 5 family members! I know exactly what I’m making for the rest of the family, and approximately how long each project will take. Everyone has been teasing me for making Christmas gifts in April, but I’m determined to have everything finished before Thanksgiving!
You are my hero!!! They can make fun of you all they want! You'll be happily enjoying the Christmas season with no stress and handmade gifts wrapped and under the tree!! 🎄💓🎄💓
this is great i should get on my christmas gifts. Theere is a muslim holiday in 4 days and i haven’t even finished all my gifts yet so maybe i should finish those first LOL
I started my Amigurumi projects in May, at this point in last Aug., I've completed 8 of 13 done. I've made a kitten, cow, squirrel Alpaca, pitbull dog, Chihuahua dog, penguin, lobster and working on Disney's Stitch and 2/3 done. My 3 cactus dish gardens are next. After that I'm making a mail delivering Kangaroo plus others. I'm matching their personalities to the projects. I'm having a blast crocheting.
I have already started to plan! I love giving gifts, and I have a list of what I want to make. But I havent actually started to crochet or knit. So I will use your freebie, cause I think that is really good! Thanks for sharing all the great tips! I hope we all get to have a great time working on our gifts, and a jolly xmas when its time!
Those little sweaters are just so adorable! I definitely want to make them and thank you for the idea of just using limited colours! Definitely saves stress and money. There are 2 sets of knit Christmas ornament patterns from Amy Gaines that I love too: Amigurumi Knit Christmas Winter Animals Ornament Pattern Set and Amigurumi Knit Christmas Ornament Pattern Set. Imagine a Christmas tree filled with amigurumi animals, plum puddings, cute little knit sweaters and stockings...that’s my kinda Christmas tree!!
Sending hugs across the ocean to you lovely lady, from here in Yorkshire 🌼 Oh my days, those teeny tiny festive sweaters are totally adorable, truly scrumptious in every way! You always have something cute to tempt us with! Take care and keep sharing your joy 🧶🧵🌸💕
Haha! Those little sweaters are so very tempting! They whip up so quickly and are so much fun to choose new color combos and motifs! So glad you enjoyed them! 🎄🎄🎄
Hi! I loved the video, it was a great reminder, so that I can start planning out my Christmas crafts. Thank you! Also, I’d really love to see a video on christmassy patterns, you always seem to find great patterns!
Great tips as usual. I started my holiday projects quite a while ago with an Advent Calendar for my new granddaughter Ella to match the one I did for her sister Annabelle. I’m also doing baby Ella a Santa hat to go with the rest of the family’s hats. I’m also planning to do a scarf for my son’s partner.
Thank you again! I've started on my Christmas gifts this month....crocheting and knitting blankets, ornaments and amigurumi but I think I'll have to include the little sweater ornament to my list. And I only work on Christmas gifts on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings (my job gets in the way of my crafting) so I am excited about your planner it will help. By the way, I love your hair!! 😁
Darn job!! That's no fun that it gets in the way of your crafting! And thank you about my hair! I got side bangs and I am loving how they hide the wrinkles!! Lol! 🎄🎄🎄
Great tips Elise (as usual) 😉 as you know I've become a knitted sock addict so I think little advent socks are going to be a gift to myself this year 🤣🤣😘
Love it!! A lady in my local knitting group is addicted to socks as well. She's doing the Sock Camp socks by the @crazysocklady and she's also doing some called Shark Week, but I'm not sure who she's doing that week. Her socks are amazing!! 🎄🎄🎄
This was SO great! I have started already and I'm pretty sure I have bitten off more than I can chew... as always lol. I've made 4 pair of socks and have more to go. I'm also working on a few patterns from Knitted Animal Friends by Louise Crowther. I LOVE the idea of streamlining and the sweater ornaments are adorable! I always have a lot of other projects besides Knitting and Crochet so I love the idea of a schedule... but I just HAVE to knit or crochet every. single. day. hahah Going to sign up for the planner now! Thank you!
Lol!! The biting off more than we chew is the hardest one! And sounds like you already have a great start on your handmade holiday gifts!! Wow!! You've got some lucky people on your Christmas list this year! 🎄🎄🎄
Great tips Elise....I have just completed my first Amurgurumi which is a family of jellyfish...such fun to do.....I have also just gone back to knitting as a complete beginner and I am halfway through my first ever knitted jumper.....I will think about Christmas gifts soon because I definitely wouldn't make them for everyone.....x
New subscriber here. Those are some useful tips; thank you. I've already started with my Christmas knitting and crochet. I made a few beanies, a shawl, and some market bags. I'm currently working on a brioche pullover sweater. I think I'm going to try some of those cute sweater ornaments as well.
Hi Elise. I am catching up on all your videos. I love them all and I have to say this one is helping me right now even though it’s not even Easter yet lol 😂 It’s so true about certain people not appreciating handmade items and you do just need to gift them something else. I am starting to learn this in my own family. Thank you for an awesome video. Blessings 💜💜
Elise!! These ideas are the sweetest!!!! 🥰And I've got the holiday planner already!!! Guess what I'm doing this weekend?!?! Hehehe Thanks so much for kicking my butt into early planning so I don't have to scramble in mid-November! 😀 And seriously, Olive is Flippin adorable sniffing and nibbling the Christmas decor hehe 🐱💖
Haha! Olive is such a stinker! She always knows when I am taking photos or filming and loves to get in on the action! And I have to kick my own rear into action too! Christmas will be here before we know it! 🎄🎄🎄
I'm watching this in early January and looking back on the gifts i made. For me, i always have a plan B. For example, usually around August i'll start to seriously nail down my project (s) for the upcoming holiday. I usually pick two or three that i think would make good gifts then make a few of each to really test the pattern. A few years ago i had my heart set on this adorable little Christmas bear ornament that i thought would be perfect but i just couldn't make the pattern work. Sometimes a pattern just isn't well written. Anyway, i spent entirely too much time fiddling with that bear because i just knew it would look adorable on everyone's tree. Well, next thing i know it's Thanksgiving weekend and i have nothing finished to show for it. The moral of the story is plan early, be sure the pattern is a success and I typically plan to have everything done by December 1st. Our family isn't huge and i do make gifts for my coworkers so I'm not making an unrealistic number of gifts. Probably under 10 or so because some of my family members aren't into handmade gifts so i just buy for them. For me, it really did take a few years of Christmas stress to realize i needed to start earlier. Also, i tend to over estimate exactly how long a project will take so using a timer is brilliant. If i know it takes me 2 or three days to make a little ornament i can't do them for my son's entire class starting at Thanksgiving and you know how life tends to throw out curve balls at the most inopportune time. I finally understand why my mother always had her holiday crafts going by fall and come September she was already knee deep in red and green 🙂
Awe I loved this whole video!! So much truth in it❤️ plans, organizing, and even quitting a project (been there so many times) but the guilt is still there. I’d love to be on your Christmas planner list! 😅 hello olive! 🐱
I really love your videos. They are always plenty of good ideas and terrific inspiration! I was thinking, while watching this one, how great it would be to also plan for Halloween🎃🎃. So, I will just leave the suggestion, because I know it's not on time for this Halloween, but maybe you can surprise us with a Halloween planner for next year? Once again, thanks for your wonderful vids. 😍
Thank you so much for all your videos and printouts to help keep me crocheting. I would love to order your cards but I don't have a color printer. (sad face) I'm new to amigurumi so your help means so much to me.
I have already started thinking about what I am going to make but haven't currently firmed up my plans. 😁 I am currently knitting socks. Our weather has been so hot and humid that is about all I can handle. 😁
Great tips and video. Was there a timeline on the free download? I have tried several times and the page won't load for me. I even optimized my computer and it still comes up page won't load. I love those little sweaters. I only recently learned crochet but do not knit. Maybe someday. TFS
