    Chris answers the following questions
    1. One comment I hear is that there is not much availability for passengers that need an accessible cabin, can you offer any advice?
    2. Are there some ships that have more accessible cabins than others?
    3. Some cruise lines have different categories of accessible cabins, for instance fully accessible, limited mobility accessible, with the biggest difference being the bathroom. Does your cruise line have different levels of accessibility?
    4. Do your required proof of need for an accessible cabin?
    5. I know some people will book one that is accessible for the extra space without a need, how do you prevent that?
    6. Do you have excursions that are accessible, and how do passengers find them?
    7. What accommodation do you make for the blind?
    8. What accommodation do you make for the deaf?
    9. What accommodation do you make for autism?
    10. What about tender ports and accessibility?
    11. Is the spa accessible?
    12. Are the pools and hot tubs accessible?
    13. What assistance is available for those with challenges?
    14. Are there plans for further enhancements for those that travel with challenges?
    15. Are there Itineraries that are better for those traveling with challenges, from the perspective of ports that are easier to navigate?
If you or a family member is cruising with wheels or has a sensory processing disorder, you will find helpful answers to questions you may have. I wanted to provide tips for cruisers to help with everything from autism spectrum disorder to food allergies and everything in between.
I have personally seen how NCL provides help when you travel with challenges. My wife travels with a wheelchair, and every crew member has gone above and beyond to be helpful.

Great Stirrup Key is not accessible if you are in a full-time wheelchair. Only if you can walk down steps into the tender and have a walker or folding chair.

We have tried 4 times to get to GSC but the seas have never been calm enough to tender.

We are going on a New England/Canada cruise on the NCL Pear Sept 1, 2023. I have a Mobility Scooter and there are several ports that use Tenders. My Scooter weighs 62 lbs. Will my scooter get lifted on to the Tender .? I can walk short distances with a cain. I have a handicapped cabin. Thanks for your help.

I am sorry to tell you this but the answers is probably no. The policy is that they don't lift scooters onto tenders. I won't say it never happens, but I would not expect them to do that.

I saw on a different CZcams video that we can get an accessible bed, ie hospital type bed that can move head and feet up and down and the accompanying passenger uses just a twin size bed in a handicap accessible room with a balcony. Is this true and how or where can I go to make sure it’s taken care of. Also, could you please advise us on accommodation for mobility disabled people on NCL shore excursions to places such as Cozumel, Harvest Caye, Belize, Costa Maya. Mexico and Roatán, Honduras. I set up a cruise for me and my dad who’s 80 with limited mobility and I don’t want him to feel like he has to stay on the ship 😢

We have very good accessibility on NCL. The separate bed would have to be a rental, probably from Special Needs At Sea. I can't speak to accessible excursions on that itinerary, but accessibility on Harvest Caye is great. Costa Maya, the port area is large and with a number of accessible options, Roatan, if the ship doesn't offer accessible excursions, you should be able to set those up separately. If you have other questions or need more help, ken@travelingwithachair.com is my email.

I am legally blind and I have sent an email to the assistance desk about flying concerns for a 2022 cruise and never received a reply back. Whom can I talk to so I can be better informed ahead of time? Also questions about large print menus in the dining rooms as well.
