Even Karl Franz's voice actor in Total War: Warhammer is thematic. The guy had done work in their previous historical games, you can occasionally hear his voice while playing as the Romans in Rome II. He wasn't some special voice actor celebrity, he was an ordinary dude who was given an extraordinary position, and he did it incredibly - just like Franz himself.
This only proves that Karl Franz transcends time and space. How else can one expect to unite Rome?
Karl Franz's voice actor voiced random Roman soldiers, while the man who voiced Ungrim Ironfist also does the Roman General's voice in pre-battle speeches.
You'd be surprised how ordinary guys and girls can definitely make god-tier voice acting.

The battlecry Karl Franz shouted was "Unberogens" which was the name of the barbarian tribe that Sigmar was from. So when the emperor called out that name he not only summoned the power of Sigmar but of all his ancestors.

You are missing out. Multiplayer is hit or miss but campaign has easily hundreds of ours in itself.
Try out the campaigns if your machine can handle it, it's really good.
In Total War Warhammer 2 during the quest battle at Blackfire pass. I led an army of veteran knights, gunners, canons and rockets and fucked the orcs. The Dwarves arrive to only see the orcs fucked by imperial gunpowder and fire magic.

To put into context just how awesome Deathclaw really is: Karl Franz also owns a dragon. That dragon is willing to let Karl ride it into battle and has done so in the past. Very few ELVEN princes, who have worked alongside dragons for centuries, have ever convinced one to let them ride it, but Karl Franz did.
So the emperor has the option to throw a dragon at what ever problem dares to stand in his path, AND HE PREFERS TO RIDE DEATHCLAW INSTEAD.
All im imagining as well is Yaoi ying also willing to let karl franz ride her, but besides not wanting to cause a scene with her father, she is also too shy and pridful to ask, also karl franz is happily married or something i dont remember

when you have to countless times and again proof yourself only to be rebirthed as a "fur clad barbarian king" (even if only for a brief moment) and scream an ork waaarghboss into submission and then killing em, before ppl finally go "hmmm maybe he is the 'One' after all..."
Ridiculous levels of badassery are commonplace in the Old World (and Boris had a fair few of them too). Sigmar himself clearly taking an interest, though? That was new :P.

Karl Franz was made by 3 things:
* military success
* Elven trickery (twice. Once via Bretonia)
* Tzenches machinations in sending his assasin to fail

Yesterday I was playing Total War 2 Mortal Empires as the Empire and my Karl Franz army got caught in a force marched by Malakeith and Morathai in Ulthuan. My ranged units out of position, my infantry was already tattered and my Demigryph knights just got overwhelmed by the enemy. Despite killing Malkeith and Morathi the rest of my army was destoryed beside Franz who ended up fighting dozen of spearman and darkshards by himself. Despite the heroic laststand Franz fell but not before dealing 6000 points of damage. I expect those numbers from my Hellstorm rockets but Franz went above and beyond that day. He is my Emperor, long live Franz!

these kind of characters is why i prefer the old Warhammer fantasy to age of sigmar or 40k. it's grimdark in a way that isn't stupid, yes there's the endless horrors of the ruinous powers, greenskins and ratmen, but the forces of Order have leaders that are up to the challenge of pushing back against the darkness, their iron wills shining brightly against the horrors of Chaos. and even though the old world ended in fire and blood, the forces of Order put up a hell of a fight.

AoS is a shitty setting when looking at the whole picture. The beauty of Warhammer Fantasy was in the details. AoS doesn't get that.
FB’s setting is basically a game where Chaos has the stacked battle points but Order keeps rolling sixes when needed. AoS’s setting have Order and Chaos closer matched and the stakes don’t feel as high.

As we all know, Franz killed Archaeon and ushured in the greatest era of peace seen in years-barring the massive damage to the world-along with the first Industrial Revolution.

Rick Priestly (the setting's creator, though not IP holder) liked not to alienate anyone, and the theme of Warhammer Fantasy can be best summed up as "hope springs eternal". There are as many anti-Chaos prophecies as there are races, and it has been heavily implied in Priestly's work that a more permanent solution to the Chaos gate will have to be found (at great cost, given the setting lol) than defense every few thousand years.
"End Times" was a retconned "new canon", sort of like the Star Wars sequels, and written by entirely new writers who displaced Rick Priestly and his original writers. They retconned huge swaths of the lore/added ridiculous contrivances to it, humiliated and killed beloved characters, pulled Diabolus ex Machina out of their rear ends, and "canonized" an absurdly one-sided Chaos victory so that they could launch Age of Spacemarines. It's awful. Storm of Chaos will always be the true timeline, even if it is only half-finished.

Karl Franz is just the best. In Total War: Warhammer 2, I started with playing elves, because I'm an Elf fanboy, thanks to Tolkien. Karl Franz and Balthazar Gelt made me reconsider, and now I'm a stalwart Empire main. It is so cathartic to unite the provinces and summon the Elector Counts. For the Empire!

The world ending is literally the dumbest way the story could have gone. I honestly would have preferred Chaos to have just won.
Read "Storm of Chaos" and "Nemesis Crown". That is the real timeline. GW stomped its feet, and brought in new writers to replace Rick Priestly and his people. They had the new writers write "End Times" to annihilate the setting and characters because they wanted to sell new miniatures.
At the end of the day Archaon's hordes were shattered and Archaon ended up running away with the remnants to the Brass Keep, Teclis annihilated N'Kari and a massive daemon army by himself, Volkmar the Grim stared down Mannfred Von Carstein that slunk back to Sylvania, and Valten (who may or may not be Sigmar reborn) was assassinated/disappeared, seemingly by the Skaven.
The SoC campaign was concluded in 2523 IC, but the timeline has continued out to 2525 IC in WHFRP 2nd edition, the Black Library novels Reiksguard, the Emperor's Swords, and the Blackhearts series. In those books it is clear the the Empire and Kislev are slowly winning the war in the North and are mopping up the remains of Archaons armies, though the Imperial armies have suffered large casualties and that there are still many scattered Chaos warbands in Middenland, Talabacland and Ostland.
