  • Choosing the right trim level can be a challenge. Which options should you go with? What's included in each?
    In this in depth head to head comparison video we dive into the 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid taking a look at the differences between the 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid SE, SEL and Titanium. One thing to note.. the 2021 Escape does have the S trim level which is the entry level option, however the S trim level is not available in the Hybrid.

    Great video! One suggestion: just highlight the differences as you go up in trim levels, and don't repeat going over features that are common to all - cover those once in the base trim and then only talk about what each successive level ads or does differently to the previous one. For example, there's no need to show how adjusting the steering column works three times, because they're the same all the way through the line - show it once in the base and then only show it again if something changes (such as going to a power adjust rather than manual).

      @@CarsWithSteve It's awesome, very pleased with it. It does have a problem with the active grill shutters vibrating very harshly under certain conditions. Ford knows about the problem and they are working on a fix that should be ready the end of Oct. Only the 2021 Hybrids are having this happen. I run 91 octane fuel in mine because it is a 13:1 C/R engine and I think the Atkinson cycle is disabled in sport mode. It is a completely different animal in sport. Eco mode is also no joke, at highway speeds when you let off the gas it slows very rapidly, probably twice the regeneration of normal mode.

      @CarsWithSteve  Před 2 lety

      @@terryrobertson8382 I've heard a few people mention that active grill shutters, curious what recall Ford will put out to address it.
      Have you been running 91 the whole time? How do you find the overall performance with the higher octane? I just realized I don't spend much time explaining eco mode in these - will definitely mention that in the 2022 model fix

    • @terryrobertson8382
      @terryrobertson8382 Před 2 lety

      @@CarsWithSteve Using 91 no ethanol is a personal preference and I have not driven the 2021 Hybrid enough to say. I previously owned a 2013 1.6 Ecoboost and a 2017 2.0 Ecoboost, both SE's. If you read the fine print, advertised HP& Torque are based on 93 octane fuel for both. I would also like to mention something you probable didn't notice. There is no assist handle at the drivers door, the other three doors have one and my two other Escapes had one at the drivers door....I really don't understand that decision.

      @CarsWithSteve  Před 2 lety

      @@terryrobertson8382 Yes not many people notice that the hp/torque specs are based on premium fuel! The turbo engines really love that 91/93 fuel
      It's funny how many odd things people point out that they notice. There were a few things removed from the 2021 Escape because of the chip shortage and some Ford vehicles in 2022 now have the option for the engine start/stop delete because of that as well

    Very nice review, and Titanium for me. The SEL is close, but not enough of a price difference when adding the 360 option for actual NAV. A couple of clarifications and additions. First, all three trims and both FWD and AWD are approved for 4 down towing behind an RV. As nicely equipped as the Titanium is, a couple of notes. Standard seating is that Active X pleather and the model shown had the Titanium Elite option which added leather. The Titanium Elite option add several features only available with that option, and not individually. I am hoping Ford splits them out with the 2022. Example, it includes both heads up display and the panoramic sun roof. While I love the heads up display in my Mini Countryman as well as the sunroof, the sunroof in the Escape is a non-starter for me. It will not support anything loaded on the roof - bikes, canoes, skies, kayak, etc - and if you order the optional crossbars, Ford deletes sunroof, or technically, the entire Elite package. 2022 ordering should open up in a couple of weeks to see if they split the option out. Glad to see the now offer a trailer hitch as an option on the hybrid, not necessarily for towing with the 1000lb limit, but for hitch mounted accessories like bike rack, container box, motorized wheelchairs, etc.

      @CarsWithSteve  Před 2 lety

      @CarsWithSteve  Před 3 lety

      Great question! Adaptive cruise is where you set it at let's say 100km/h.. when the car in front of yours slows down, yours will automatically brake. It can then pick you back up to your set speed again..
      Intelligent cruise takes that to the next level by also using speed sign recognition. If you have the speed set at 100km/h and the posted speed drops to 80km/h if the car picks up on the change in speed it will automatically brake to what your "threshold" is that you've set. So if your threshold is 0 then your car would drop from 100km/h to 80km/h based on the speed signs

Ford never fixed the door hitting problem from 2013 - 2018 even though I told then of this problem in Sept 2012 when I got my car. A simple CAD system update on the robotic door install would have fixed future builds but Ford did not care. Sold my Escape last Monday because I received my new Mazda CX-5 Tuesday. What an awesome car from an awesome company who cares about quality. Absolutely no comparison to my crappy Ford Escape. I will never again by Ford crap 💩. Good luck to those who do. Thanks for the feedback Bruce.. I just double checked how I organized the layout and you're right.. there are some ways I can shorten this while getting the same point across
      Will do some thinking on how to have the next trim compare video laid out!

    So all your review is mostly Ford crap? You should be reviewing the king of all hybrids and that’s Toyota

      Started Ford/Lincoln and recently started branching into other OEMs. Should have Toyota videos ready to go before the end of the year

    Jesus next time just show the differences. You said the same things across 3 trim levels.

      Each trim level is different and there are people that appreciate the visual compare. You could go to Ford's website if you just want to see the breakdown though 👍 here's the link www.ford.com/suvs-crossovers/escape/
      Thanks for the afternoon laugh!
