The Hegman Gauge

The Hegman Gauge is a paint makers tool for measuring the fineness of the ground or mulled pigments. It’s also use to check if the pigment particles are fully dispersed into the binder, especially with finer pigments that tend to lump together.
Although you can see the use of it in some of my videos, I always use it while I’m making paint. And while most of making paint, in the scale that I’m working in (at home studio) can be done by eyeballing it, this gives me just that bit more control when it comes to getting everything out of an individual pigment.
