- We found ourselves in the right place at the right time to capture footage of this mother koala and little Joey at Belair National Park in South Australia. It’s pretty amazing how the Joey can hold onto its mother while she walks, sits, stands, jumps and climbs. 😊

In Victoria state, surviving from fires will be so cruel for joeys. Authority will finish them without mercy.

Australia wildlife law is different in each state. Victoria is the most hostile state for helpless babies.

Each state has own wildlife law. Victoria state hates Koalas. It is very cruel on Koalas.

Ok I watched this many times I want to know how baby koala stays on mom koala’s back so well while she’s eating, climbing, standing up, even hopping down at 2:45😲
Because his little claws anchor him pretty good into her fur. That's one of the reasons they have such long claws. He's getting pretty good size, so he probably won't be with Mum much longer. He'll probably wake up one morning and mum will be gone. I think that's an awful way for them to have to learn to be independent, but that, sadly, is life in the wild. He may see her again from time to time, but by that time, she'll probably have a new bub to care for.
I wondered the same thing. Hold on tight little one.
