Basta kadungog ko og "kabalo" imbes og "kahibao" maka ingong ko na basig taga probinsya o lain na isla. 😁 Very impressed by your knowledge of Bisaya and your fluency in Tagalog.
I was also born and raised in Cebu and I'm also into learning languages since my wife is from Baguio and have been picking up some few words and phrases from Ilocamo and Kampampangan. I started learning Korean and Getman as a hobby but lacked immersion.

Other Bisaya people who came to Mindanao were the Ilonggos and Kinaray-aand Kinaray-a from Iloilo in Panay; they settled around Cotabato and brought with them the Hiligaynon and Kinaray-a languages. Other Bisaya languages spoken in Mindanao are Surigaonon and Butuanon. The Ilocanos, Tagalogs, and other people of Luzon also settled in Mindanao and learned the Cebuano language.

Good explanation about the word Bisaya. People tend to think, especially the Tagalogs and other northerners in the Philippines, that Bisaya equates to Cebuano people and their language not knowing that the word Bisaya is a general term for people living in different provinces in the Visayas and having a language of their own.
Actually ang Cebu at cebuano is from Spanish word ang Tagalog ay Sugbo at Sugboanon.
yup mao kay ang tawag sa unang panahon sa Cebu kay SUGBU or ZUBU according to spanish mao gi tawag ang sinultian ug Sugbuanon
Jared you speak pretty good in tagalog for being 100 candadian. Its a trip. Hope you go visit the Philippines and start making videos there.
Mabuting mag aaral Ng Bisaya dhil ang Bisaya makaintindi Ng Tagalog ,pero ang Tagalog Hindi mka intindi Ng Bisaya!
*PADAYON LANG.*
"Di ko kabaw" is not I do not know. It means I am not a Carabao. waaaaahhh 😂😂😂
They speak Bisaya and English before Tagalog. We were in Bohol and it was like that lol.
Hi,bagong kaibigan po done thumbs❤
Salamat uy
My native tongue is actually "Waray" and I agree with her, eventhough Leyte and Cebu are close when it comes to islands, we don't understand with each other. That's why we only talk either tagalog or english with them. They'll realize that we're not from there.
Southern Leyte speaks Cebuano
Wow ..nice conversation ..
totoo yun..
hiligaynon is the language of western visayas.
Ilonggo is the native of Iloilo speaking hiligaynon.
tinatawag ding ilonggo kahit di nakatira sa iloilo kapag siya ay nagsasalita ng hiligaynon...tulad sa bacolod.😊
The languages of the Philippines is not only 120 it's 198 in counting some of those language is badly gone, although it's not common because people not spoke it.
bro dapat aralin mo rin ang chabacano..
Galing galing mo.naman from Saskatoon Saskatchewan here
Nag subscribe na ako saiyo , kasi masaya ako na gaya mong Canadian ay napaka husay mong mag tagalog.
Ako Kay bisaya taga cebu
Jared, in the early American period, 1903-1915, a National Census was conducted and Cebuano came in first as the most spoken, eventually caving in to tagalog for obvious reasons, - Manila being d seat of power, capital city, Govt, Business center, entertainment, and most especially television hub.
Bukid means mountain in cebuano/bisaya.
Dapat sanayin mong bigkasin ang ‘g’. Halimbawa: ‘magluto’ hindi makluto. Nawawala kasi ang ‘g’ mo po.😉👍😊
More video support more pilipino🇵🇭🇵🇭❤
Yung mga Bisaya na Ilonggo malambing ang accent
Astig Jared...watching here in Riyadh. KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA
For me i cannot learn bisaya dialect it quite difficult for me good luck Sir Jared🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
"Gwapo" comes from Spanish, the correct Cebuano for handsome is "AMBONGAN" , or hitsoraan.
Hi! Watching from Canada ! 🇨🇦🇵🇭

Nindot. Learned that today.

Cebu word is from Spanish and their people called Cebuano but the Tagalog or native tongue version is SUGBO and their people called 😂 or Sugboanon.

Sobra!!! Husay mo ❤
Surigao Ganon din cebuano parang happy Spanish kami
Goodluck po brod
You should learn Kapampangan.
With Tagalog and English I think I would be able to speak with the majority of Filipinos right?
I mean, in Italy there is a lot of languages, but with standard Italian all the regions are able to communicate with each other
no, like in mindanao area, almost every dialect is different to one another..
I was in the Philippines, in Mindanao, and spoke English everywhere. Some older people don't speak English, but younger people speak it well. And in Mindanao, people normally speak Cebuano or Bisaya (the same thing). But they also learn Tagalog in school, so they know Tagalog too. The schools are mostly in English and they watch TV and movies in English, so English is becoming more widely understood and spoken there.
@@ronlugbill1400 Thanks for you explanation.
Tagalog and English are the Lingua Franca of the Philippines. Yet, Bisaya is the Lingua Franca of the Visayans and Mindanao. If you can speak Bisaya, the people in those two latter areas would prefer that, over speaking Tagalog and English. Of course if you can speak the local language, that would be best from their point, as they are the most comfortable with it. It is like National, Regional, Local.@@ZFCaio
Correct! You can pretty much travel the entirety of the Philippines with just English alone, with Tagalog, even better!
I am Cebuano and I don't know why I am Fluent in to English
Try mo rin si bisayang hilaw lods marunong siya magtagalog pero mas marunong sa bisaya
Bisaya tlsag Yun fluent
Gamay da
my brother cool
Mas parang bisaya si Jared kaysa Tagalog hahahah
sa cdo mix bisaya+English.
This is quite interesting.
Oo. Yes. Bisaya is a dialect widely spoken all over in the Philippines 🇵🇭 because there are way too many different dialects spoken widely amongst all the Filipinos living in the Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
The country of the 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
has 1,000 plus 🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝
with way too many different types of dialects spoken widely amongst the Filipinos especially amongst the tribes in the Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Learning of various dialects as spoken by various Filipinos tribes and Filipinos natives living all over in the Philippines 🇵🇭 is tougher than mastering basic and widely spoken mother tongue 👅 aka tagalog language itself na.
Dialects are versions of the same language that can understand each other. If they cannot understand each other, then they are languages, not dialects. So Waray-waray, Bicolano, Cebuano, and Hiligaynon are individual languages.
Language, not dialect.
Galing sa lengwas! 🤯 Once you learn a 3rd language, the succeeding languages get easier. 🤯
Bisayan is the 2nd most spoken Philippine language.
But go to another island 🏝, and you find another language! L 🤣 L
When you master Cebuano, you and singer Morissette Amon can speak in a secret language! L 🤣 L
Cebuano is a term used to describe people who live in Cebu, whereas Bisaya is one of the Philippine dialects that Cebuano uses.
Languages. I am unsure why Filipinos still refer to the languages of their country as dialects. Bisaya is a language and Cebuano is a dialect of Bisaya.
I think calling Bisaya "Cebuano" is like calling Filipino "Tagalog".
@@alanguagesI think it should be Binisaya language because the other sister languages such as Waray-waray, Hiligaynon, etc. are part of Bisaya/Visayan languages as a mother language.
WHY THIS ISNT TAUGHT IN OUR SCHOOL? KAsalanan talaga ito ng DepEd
@@bubblebutt9666 Filipinos said they even taught the outdated theory of Philippine migration. Like Filipinos came from Malaysia and Indonesia. In fact some Malaysians and Indonesians that are austronesian descent came from the Philippines. Not the other way around. Proto-Malayo-Polynesian and Lapita culture probably came from the Philippines too. There are indeed Malaysians and Indonesians migrating in the Philippines, but they are later on the arrival of the Hindu-Arabic-Buddhist influence spreading into the Philippines. There are migrations happening at those times including the trading of different kingdoms of every southeast asia, china, india, japan, and other parts of the world. Negritos who are the Pre Australoid descendants of the lineage might probably be from Indonesia and Malasyia, but they are just small in numbers in the Philippines and only too few who had mixture of Negrito gene of the Philippine population. There are more Spanish and Chinese genes in the Philippine population than the Australoid genes.
unsay tirada nimo bai jared? 😂
First
Bisaya is the original dialect in Cebu, it is the Cradle of Bisaya mother tounge of Lapu-Lapu our First National Hero of the Philippines, other Provinces of the Philippines that speaks Bisaya is just a borrowed words from Cebu/Bisaya..a Malay language spoken by our forefathers and ancestors. And also Cebuano speaks better English mostly because we are train & taught in School, I remember in my grade School we are fine if we dont speak English in the School grounds.! 🙏
Don't agree some people from Cebu going to mindanao to migrate it common for us to go to other places to go live, we're same tribe and same ancestor, and I'm from Cebu also my last name is famous in Cebu and don't know if some people know that in every area in the Philippines has a variety of tribes and diverse culture.
Can I clarify? Do you mean that the variation of Bisaya that is used in Cebu (Cebuano) is where Bisaya originated?
@@leehughes9341
I am not a historian: Bisaya is an indigenous people from the Northwest Coast of Malaysia on the Island of Borneo. Cebuano contains many words of Spanish origins. In addition the language or dialect has borrowed words from Chinese, Arabic and English. Bisayan People are explorers, adventurous and travelers so the dialect are spread out all over the Visayan Regions, Provinces including Mindanao..
@fredbigornia1814 Thank you, my wife is from near Davao, Mindanao so she speaks Bisaya, however when I use the term Cebuano, she corrects me that it isn't!
@@leehughes9341 It's because People of Mindanao speaks variety of dialects wherever province you are from! Davao province speak also Bisaya but there are also variety of dialects like Tagalog, Ilocano, and some prefer to speak tagalog because the Government implemented that tagalog as the National language, it is complicated to explain because I don't know how many dialects of the Provinces of Mindanao people speaks, Mindanao has a population of Muslim religions and faith but also Christians. They also speak variety of dialects, The reason I call it dialects because it is only one Country, and I don't want to divide it has variety of category, The main Language is only one which is (Pilipino) There is no letter "F" on the Philippine Alphabet. A lot of people disagree with me on this subject Sir! The language is "Pilipino" and several dialects,.The second Language is English which is taught in School from Kindergarten to College.
Cebuana or Cebuano is a tribe, Visaya is a language or dialic Visayas and Mindanao is many tribes and also many languages.
you mixed it up. 😀 Cebuano is the language in Cebu, Bisaya is generalization of language in Visayas. I speak Hiligaynon/illonggo but we also call it bisaya when talking Tagalog speaker or any other language.
@@bababcuenca what? You must know your origin visaya is a tribe that's why we called it Cebu in general, is called Visayas island. You understand that? Try to know you tribes bro if you wanna know the truth.
@@bababcuenca Just do a research if you want to know what did the story behind what Visayas named too.
@@bababcuenca Cebuano is the people not a language, The name of the languages is bisaya, in every island that what we called tribes, for example ilongo is the people, and the languages is hiligaynon, group of people is called also a tribes of ilongo.
@@inf4mousvloglife1572 cebuano is people and language, but we from WV dont call their language bisaya we call them cebuano. We can say the same thing for EV. Also ilonggo is people and language. Hiligaynon is used in Neg.occ. technically, the stucture is still ilonggo, but the accent is sweeter.
Nahihiya kz mag salita ng tagalog ang mga bisaya kapag kausap ang tagalog.😊
Wala pang bago? 😅
Hindi ate importante nmn tagalog oang bansa salita un
@bubblebutt9666 mao nang maignan tag ignorante sa north tungod sa nimo. As per @fredbigornja1814 bisaya comes from
North Borneo, so cebu or mindanao bisaya are not original. Cebuano lang ang gitawag ana, kay kamo ang pinakasikat na bisaya kay primerong capital sa pilipinas kaniadto. Pero wala kay labot sa sikat kay damang kang dako 😂
