No, No No! I never ever thought this could be so good!
Sorry but this has to be the biggest improvement for riding comfort during the rough times of the year.
I just love it.

Why didn't I do this years ago 😃 This must the best money I've spent for ages when it comes to comfort.
Just finished watching your vid one thought how did you find using the switch gear especially the indicator switch was there a enough room to move your thumb around???
YES A GAME CHANGER... Have ridden for 50years...and tried all types of gloves ...leather/ textile , Goretex etc....and heated grips....handguards...heated gloves... and a combination of these ...MUFFS are THE BEST....forget about the looks......keep warm / dry...and enjoy no matter the weather....ride safe !!!
I figured it a bit late. Better late than never
"Coolfactor destroyed" love that
Totally agree and had mine a few years but bought Gerbin gloves and left them in the drawer for several Winters. Just refitted them today as it's so much better wearing Summer gloves. Needed your video to remind me how to fit them as I forgot how the buckle works. Roll on Summer.
They are great. Just keeps the wet and wind out. We did have the first snow here in Bavaria. I'll put mine on over the weekend.
Thank for stopping by. Keep it up and ride safe.
Hello Stephan, I cannot believe it! This is as you said (one of ) the best purchased you (before sliced bread) ever made. I have been using bar muffs (in bad weather) since I got my first bike, Yamaha 1976,125 RD. Yes, they look UGLY but I will take an ugly look before frozen/wet hands! Most bikers prefer the look, oh well, too bad for them, I go for the cozy ride!
I am not sure if your bike is equipped with heated grips but these don't keep you warm at all past 40 miles an hour, hours at the time. I recall back in the days when we had no GoreTex and the best protection was leather, we would put layers of news paper under our Schott/Perfecto jackets O:)) to stay warm and don't forget the long Johns for under garments! O:)) Even then Barbour or Belstaff where not warm, just a bit water repellent! So, forget about the look and keep your hands warm. I have seen guys using the BMW 2 in 1 gloves or the Held Air n Dry and I am sorry but after a while none of them gloves work! Rain and wind will sip through even if you have hand grip wind deflectors like Barkbusters and all . Actually Barkbusters has something very similar, just a bit smaller. barkbusters.net/products/bbz/3487-bbz-001/
Great review as always. Cheers
Hey Patrick. It is funny but I never ever made the step. Glad I did now. I came out of my Bikeshed this minute after panning my next steps. After a successful maiden trip to day, they defo stay on during the winter. I Just followed the link to the barkbusters but I think they are way to small. I think having the bigger units gives you more protection from the elements. There is still a bit of a draft as they are not fully closed on the lower end due to cables, My wife was suggesting to add a bit of old fur to make it warmer. But I think it is just fine as it is.
I tried the heated grips today but tbh there is no need now. Heated grips are OK for an emergency but not very good if you are using them all day.
Well that's sorted. Tomorrow I change the wheels over and put on the LoneRider bags. Winter Ready!
Drive carefully Pat. All the very best.
@@MOTOTravelUK Hello Stephan, your wife is correct (like most wives are o:))) - Fur will work or old socks if you really need that much more protection from the wind effect inside the muffs. Barbusters are ok but not suited for GS. They work best on the small enduro bikes but I think they are working at larger muffs for our types of bikes. I saw the "owner" at EICMA last month and we chatted a bit about that. Anyway you are now ready for the winter, you just need the snow chains that Wunderlich makes and you will be all set. Can't wait for your review on the LoneRider bags since now the only other brand I would consider is Mosko Moto. Cheers
Totally agree, bought muffs last year and was the best thing i have bought, just need to make sure they are fitted right or they move around sometimes and if its raining and you leave the bike tuck the muffs down or they fill with water ;-)
No Idea what took me that long. Thanks for the tip about rain. I just had someone else asking about it. Could you please share your experience using the muffs in the rain, please? It should be great for everyone else. Thanks a lot
Great review Stephan a must for winter ❄️ and pack away easy 👍
Steven
Thanks Steven, Not done yet. Just getting the Lonerider softbags on the bike, just in case Idrop the bike during winter. What is your winter secret prep?
MOTOTravel UK hi Stephan I’ve just put my gsa off-road as I work away from home offshore but if I get some in between good days when home il take it out ,my plan this winter is I’m doing a winter project on a tet bike a 690 Ktm or 701 rally raid or similar kit if I managed the time right as not home for long and away for Christmas also this yr hopefully I will make a start so soft luggage ideas is on list
Steven
Evening Stephan, I used to have hand guards on my bike and heated grips, which together kept my hands nice and warm in the winter. Since I put the handlebar conversion on, I've not found any hand guards that fit. This might be a solution. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Peter.
I have Guards on mine, but for longer trips, for me muffs are a must in colder weather
Hello Stephan - do you think there is extra room inside the muff to accomodate the plexiglass aftermarket hand guard extension that rises approx 2 inches higher than the OEM hand guard?
I do have extenders on my guards on my 1250. There is enough room. But, remember you don't need the mega bulky gloves anymore. Normal riding gloves will be enough.
What about rain draining down sleeves into the muffs?
I thought about it as well. In your normal riding position on my bike, my elbow is slightly lower compared to the grips. So water will run out naturally.
If I have any issues, I'll be the first one to shout it out.
👍
Cheers Alan, a pleasure to chat with you.
@@MOTOTravelUK Thanks for response. I ride day/night including winter so looking for something I can switch between various bikes but notice my arms drop towards the bars.
@@angels731 Just thinking about it, Having a little drain rivet on the underside should do the trick? Just a thought.
I do have one of them in my handguards.
I did bought the "boxing" type of muffs and was a mistake, no gloves fit in there. I kind of like this ones, is it hard to fit your gloves back in while you riding? By the way check out my channel too. :)
You have to make sure they are big enough. Look for Snowmobile ones.
is your bike equipped with heated grips?
Yes it is, but I don't use it for longer period of time. Thank for dropping by.
@@MOTOTravelUK Thank you for an informative video. My GS has heated grips and I have never installed muffs on it, because they were all too small and I didn't bother to take the hand guards off.
@@motolover5697 I wouldn't bother taking the guards off either. These ones are brilliant. Thanks for dropping by.
I find these absolutely awful but I might consider using them for long highway sections, along with a fake moustache just in case I stumble upon someone I know. :)
👍I give you that Sir. They look kinda wired. No chance of winning any "best looker" competition. But they do the trick. Best used in lousy weather. I keep mine on the bike till spring and then they disappear into the panners. Until that horrible weather gets them out again. Cheers for your comment 👍
