I'm delighted to have Tim Pierce guesting on the live stream this week. It's been over two years since I had Tim on. Last time we were talking about the Beatles "Get Back" that had just been released. This time I'm going to indulge myself and ask Tim all the questions about his studio time that I never get around to asking when we're talking on the phone about the nature of reality and ....CZcams.
So get your questions ready and come join us.
What a lovely way to spend a Saturday morning. I always save your livestreams for this time.
I’ll listen to Tim talk about anything, but that said, Keith, what a magnificent interview! You’re asking him questions he’s not been asked a million times and then giving him space to tell stories, wonderful work Keith!
Thanks so much to you and your team for all you do to bring us both entertaining and useful information! ✌️😌🎸
The guy can definitely cut loose when he feels it or lay back & play the most soulful lines out there. I took his master class & have watched countless videos of him & my biggest take away is,if you wanna learn to play with taste, this is the guy to follow & most definitely take his course! Just amazing! Much gratitude to Tim Pierce🎼🎸
My dream - at 69 years old - is to do something that makes me smile as much as Tim Pierce. I love this guy. He’s got a good soul.
From the time I started playing at 11 years old until I was in my mid-30s, I just got better every time I picked up my guitar. After having a child, a serious job, and a house payment for 15 years, I discovered one day that I couldn’t do some things that came easily before. So,I finally started doing something that loosely resembled practicing. Over the past five years, videos like this have given me yet another boost in interest and the ability that comes with playing all the time. I am deeply grateful.
Many years ago, I knew Tim Pierce as Rick SPringfield's guitarist, and I remember thinking he was really good. I wasn't aware that he was doing studio sessions until 1992, when the mastering studio I worked at was mastering a Peter Cetera album "World Falling Down": and I asked Peter who was playing guitar on a song that I particularly liked the guitar parts on, and he said it was a guy named Tim Pierce. I remembered that name and suddenly, because I started paying attention, I heard his name all the time as a session guy. it's so wild, all these years later to be following him on YouTiube. I love the way he plays and I love how enthusiastic he still is about music and guitars. He's truly a joy to watch.
Hmm, interesting. I saw Rick Springfield live in the early 80s, I wonder if Mr. Pierce was with him that night.
@@ZigbertD You probably did see Tim. He often wore a black bowler hat, ala "A Clockwork Orange". Does that ring a bell with you?
@musicmann1967 No, that was a mighty long time ago, can't recall those kind of details, lol. It was a great show though, Springfield had some really good songs, kind of underrated.
I have been a Tim Pierce MasterClass member for the past 1-1/2 years. I am a keyboard player that took up guitar later in life and fumbled around until I found Tim's MasterClass. All I can say is that it is worth every penny spent and it has helped me immensely in my guitar technique journey.
Tim has "semi-private" sessions with his MasterClass and is a tremendous resource. I have also became a Keith Williams fan when he started his short history series. Thank you, Keith!! Amen, Tim regarding "Hoovies Garage" and the "Wichita Lineman" which is the most haunting song of all time. Thank you, Keith for all you do and thank you Tim for your live streams with the MasterClass.
Thank you both! What a pleasure!
I love Tim. He's so humble, and has a great youtube presenting style.
Thank you, as always, for the thoughtful content. This is an elite channel in terms of consistent quality, guitar or otherwise.
The triumvirate for music vids... Rick, Tim and you. Thanks!!!!
Tim’s awesome!! Thanks for this.
I watch Tim as much as I can! And yes,I found Tim and Rick through Five Watt World! And Zac.
Interesting. My progression was Rick Beato -> Five Watt World -> Tim Pierce -> John Nathan Cordy.
Great video!!!!
Tim is a gentleman!!!…🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great stuff, thank you Keith and Tim!
Some real sweetness in Tim’s playing today. Gorgeous
Two of the nicest and most humble CZcamsrs in one video? Man this is gold
Thanks Gents
Tim is my hero. Thanks for all your hard work
You can fell a lot about a content provider by their audience. I have to say, the comments are very intelligent, clever, funny, appreciative. You two are so talented and informative. I love being a part of this community!
Thanks John
Absolutely fantastic have a wonderful day Keith ❤😊
Sorry I missed this live. Tim's an awesome person. This is always a great show.
Pro talk.very educational!thanks you guys.
This was great. ⚡️🎸
Oh yeah, I really love the music Tim plays on the intro/outro!
Great interview! Thanks!
Top man
I love Tim's smile.
Don’t we all?! 😁
Tim is my Fav, his beginner course is the greatest made me lots better in a week, now just trying to find out time to practice.
Tim is the best
I know the Internet thinks I'm wrong, but I LOVE my tone master pro. I also got the fr-12. ALL of my other gear has been gathering dust for several months...
Fabulous content.
Never got notifications for this
Tim, your tele tones are your top form, IMHO.... The other stuff is great, but this, I think....
Great stuff!
I'm also here to fanboy out- both about Tim and about the fantastic, underrated, Toy Matinee- a star-studded lineup of talent if ever there was one! Tim is a total inspiration, and his playing on the Toy Matinee material (and on so many other songs and records) is just sublime. Tim is the guitar player that I aspire to be- the right guy with the right part for the song, the first time, every time! (and IN TUNE!!!!!)
I love these couthy little nuggets of hushed earnest yumminess. I particularly enjoy all the guitar lore vids, e.g. The History of the Les Paul. Something you seemed to have stopped doing is your 'sometimes less is more' videos. Minimalist, reductionist. I used to get a lot of ideas from them. If you were providing a start-up rig for a budding fourteen year old musician, what might you choose? I might suggest a Sire Larry Carlton, Line 6 Pod GO, plus a Yamaha active speaker. Perhaps that's all way too expensive. What rig would you buy for the kid?
It’s a good video idea
Legend Tim
⚓️ Thanks Tim ♨️ Keith 🌈
Thank you Keith
Beato is the OG. Keith, Tim, Zac, Jeff are amazing educators, communicators, and ultimate nice guys. Love it.
Never ask Shakira's hips. They are brutally honest.
Why does the audio seem messed up? Like there’s a compressor/gate?
Love Tim. I've talked to him on the phone, and he's the nicest guy in the world. But I had a strange reaction to his Masterclass. I followed his lessons for a long time. Then one day I realized that I can't do what he does. Something is missing from my musical DNA, and I'll never catch up. I had to abandon the course.
It’s not about you doing what Tim does. It’s learning from him and adding it to what YOU do. Start your lessons again.
@@montyqd My problems with the Masterclass run deeper than are appropriate to discuss here. I'll just limit my comment to say that Tim has abilities that he is unable to teach.
Its not so much Tim plays things he cant teach, he hears things only he hears. You have to hear your own music and find your own voice.
What are we calling the intro, tomorrow always knows?
Tim- I need more Cowbell . . .
I have almost no polish.
Maybe there's hope for me still....
Please redefine terms. Good marketing invites your patron to experience the worth of your product. "Clickbait" is marketing (often false advertising) with no care for the patron or the quality of the product. To be sure, there is much of the latter but not from either of you or your compadres.
You cannot in good conscious. Leave us hanging on that Shakira story. Jeff, don't make us lock you back in Keith's Green room for an indeterminate amount of time again
Back in the 70s, producers often asked me to sound like I didn't know how to play. I was small time and insisted on $100/song in cash . It definitely paid the bills but I never knew who the "band" was nor did I care. My collaborators went on to play with America, Beach Boys, Orleans, John Paul Jones, and others but we were still broke musicians.
You guys are both big favorites of mine. True story Keith, while watching this video, my wife brought in the mail and in it was my new 5 Watt World black long-sleeve tshirt and my 5 watt world sticker, which I’ve already placed on the back on my white Spark Mini amp!!! It looks so cool on there. Tomorrow I’ll wear the shirt. Thanks!
Maybe its just me, but the guests on these streams are always like 3x louder than Keith. Makes it a bit hard to listen to.
Working on it
